Valerie | 58 comments Went online & ordered Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta & Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly . I had checked them out at the library to read, and LOVED them so much... that I had to have them for myself!! LOL These are the first 2 books I've read in a long time that I felt deserved a 5-star rating... that's how much I loved them! ;)

Becca | 1608 comments So I found Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta , Wildwood Dancing (Wildwood, #1) by Juliet Marillier , and Cybele's Secret (Wildwood, #2) by Juliet Marillier for myself, all in hardcover, and got my son a ton of books from the childrens' section of the sale. I also got several children's chapter books on audio that I loved as a kid like Bruce Coville's Magic Shop series. Love, love, love library sales.

Gorgeous! It's the first thing that drew me into reading Marillier. I saw Wildwood Dancing's cover and picked it up immediately. Love it.

They're two of my favorites. But I love all of Marillier's books. I love how detailed the covers are on these two. I would be reading through a scene and flip to the cover and think, "Oh my goodness, there's what I'm reading about" and it happened lots of times.

message 919: by Ai Haibara (new)

Cheryl Landmark (clandmark) | 148 comments Sofie wrote: "I know and I just bought 5 more because I can't seem to stop. I think I'm done shopping for at least this month."

I know exactly what you mean! I already have 45 books on my bookshelves at home to read and, yesterday, I had to go out and buy 2 more. I tell you, there is an invisible string attached to me and the bookstore and it pulls me in every time I walk by! :)

message 924: by Sofie (last edited May 03, 2011 04:58AM) (new)

Sofie (paulli) | 52 comments ditto. every time I see a bookstore I have to go in eventhough I know they don't have anything I want to buy because most of the books are translated to danish and danish just falls short to the original and anyway it's cheaper to buy the english version online. so when I'm buying books online I'm buying big! because I tend to think " hey this is sooo cheap!" this is a decease or what I like to call my "book sense". Just glad I'm not the only one.
btw my TBR list is like 100 books long.

Ouch! Well, 45 books are the ones I actually own. I have over 100 on my wishlist that I really want to buy, but I'm holding off until I get some of the others read. Goodreads just has too many great books listed and my friends keep sending book recommendations that I can't resist.

message 926: by Sofie (new)

Sofie (paulli) | 52 comments I own over 100 books that I haven't read yet. but still I buy more every month so if I end with a broken leg I might get the pile down a little. I also have about 150 on a wishlist. This is a vicious circle.

I did the same thing :) I love all of her books as well, I think my favorite is still Daughter of the Forest. I fell in love with that book. To my shame, I still haven't read the Bridei Chronicles.

You should read them Myra! Bridei was an interesting series. I really started to like it (on an emotional level) at about the second one, although the first one was intensely interesting.

And her Sevenwaters series is my absolute favorite although I would have to say Son of Shadows is my favorite over Daughter of the Forest by a very slight margin. I looked for all of them at my library sale, but sadly only found the Wildwood books.

message 931: by Julie (new)

Julie I just got The Craving (The Vampire Diaries Stefan's Diaries Series #3) by L.J. Smith . I love these! I haven't read the originals though.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Oh man, in the heat of the moment I want the new book so bad. And it looks so gooood!

I just forget that all the other books I bought also look 'soooo good', and I keep putting off reading them because the new book take me over.

It's a sickness.

I love the original's, (even if they are cheesy, they are special to me because I read them as a kid). I haven't read the new ones. I'm afraid that they're just going to disappoint me.
