Would love to know what you think of King Dork I have seen it around but just not sure about it..LOL

Yeah, I picked it up for the same reason! The cover/blurb doesn't exactly grab me, but the reviews (cf. Catie's enthusiasm above! Ha) have made me curious... :D

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) I might like it then because I was so not a social butterfly in highschool..LOL

message 457: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I just read the reviews, I've looked at it before, and I have to say that I'm a bit nervous about the portrayal of women... that seems to be the biggest gripe.

Though it sounds like how a high school boy WOULD think of girls.

message 458: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) In one review it said that the women are placed in one of the following catagories; saints (moms, sisters) and sinners (girls only good for naughty things I don't want to type).

I may read it though, the concept sounds funny.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) My husband is going to put a block on my credit card preventing me from purchasing anything from Amazon.

I just added THe Year of Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty and Beastly by Alex Flinn to my Kindle.

LOL, well I don't have anyone capping my credit off and I probably need someone too...everytime I come to this site I am adding more things to my tbr list...

message 461: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) hahaha, I know! I spend the whole day looking at books and you can't stop yourself from adding or buying some.

He'd never do that, but he sure will get on me. I've now bought 3 Kindle books and 2 hardcovers today alone.

message 462: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Loved Year of Secret Assignments!

message 463: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I know, haha. That's why I got it. Most of the recommendations I get from you or Peep tend to be good... not that I'm trying to feed ego's, just state the truth, hahahaha.

Awww thanks! I hope you like it. The audiobook cracked me up!

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Wendy wrote: "I know, haha. That's why I got it. Most of the recommendations I get from you or Peep tend to be good... not that I'm trying to feed ego's, just state the truth, hahahaha."

Just "most"?

LOL. I did get the Ghosts of Ashbury High in the mail today, so I'll be starting that next.

message 466: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I was not as into Ghosts as her other books Peep - I'm interested to know what you think. Don't get me wrong, it was still good. Just not my fav.

message 467: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Sheesh, I wish I would have known that before I spent 12 bucks on it. Booger! (Not you.)

message 468: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Peep wrote: "Sheesh, I wish I would have known that before I spent 12 bucks on it. Booger! (Not you.)"

Sorry! I reviewed it awhile back, you must have missed it. It is still worth the read for Emily's parts - she cracks me up!

message 469: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Most is good. Most is the majority.

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I finally caved and bought a B&N membership. There are at least 8 books coming out this year I am going to buy and a lot of the best sellers are 40% off (hardcover, of course!). It's going to come in handy. Hubby say's I have an expensive hobby. Psh, yeah whatever.

I haven't read a choose your own adventure novel in a long while! I didn't know people were still writing them. That's pretty awesome though.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Becca,

I didn't know they still made them until I seen it and its 384 pages its a actual novel not a little book like they were when I was young..LOL

message 477: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I loved Choose your own Aventure books!!! I am absolutely going to have to get that now, haha.

message 478: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Wow! That's a big one. The ones I used to read were like maybe 150 pgs and I loved every single one of them, not that they were well written or anything, just that it was so FUN!

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Yeah I know! When I got this in the mail I was like WHOA, I was thinking it would be smaller, but I really can't wait to read it..got to get reading on these other books I have started though..LOL

I have read all the Riley Jensen books - they are kind of weird and pretty smutty but oddly addicting. They are set in a futuristic and paranormal austrailia - go figure.

message 481: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments I am pretty sure the latest is the last - it seemed that way anyways. It was better than some of the later ones and tied up some story lines.

message 482: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) For my Kindle, I just got...

The Highlander's Touch (Highlander, #3) by Karen Marie Moning Kiss of the Highlander (Highlander, #4) by Karen Marie Moning The Dark Highlander (Highlander, #5) by Karen Marie Moning The Immortal Highlander (Highlander, #6) by Karen Marie Moning Spell of the Highlander (Highlander, #7) by Karen Marie Moning

I'm skipping books 1 and 2, I only want to read the crossover books.

message 483: by Tracy T. (new)

Tracy T. I got Torn (Trylle Trilogy, #2) by Amanda Hocking from KLC.

You can technically skip book 3 as well. There's only one little scene that mentions the Fae and it's nothing really tying to Shadowfever.

message 487: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments I ordered Shadowfever - THROUGH express! Hopefully will end up here tomorrow for reading! I just finished DREAMFEVER and can't wait to see what happened!

Do you guys think the Highlander series is worth reading on it's own?? I saw that KMM was going to come out with more books from this whole Highlander/Fever universe. I'd like to have the backstory for the MacKeltar's but I want a good story too.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'd recommend them ONLY if you either like historical romance or are the type that wants to know every single detail about the Fever world. Otherwise, I'd say skip them. They're good fluff reads, but not as good as Fever.

If you choose to read them, skip 1 and 2 for sure. They're the slowest of the bunch and don't connect with Fever other than a cameo by Aiobheal. 3 imo can be skipped too because the mention of fae is such a small scene, but we've already gone over this so I probably sound repetitive by now.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Bluemoon wrote: "STORMI: I didn't even know they still make those kinds of books!"

I didn't either so I am hoping it will be fun. I might have to put something else on hold to read it cause its just sitting there staring at me saying you know you want to read me...LOL

message 491: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) A friend in another group said to skip 1, 2 and possibly 3, but that 3 contains Adam Black (which I'm thinking is the same 'Adam' that V'lane mentioned), so just for that reason I'm going to start there.

I just want to know more about the MacKeltars. It's the mix of two great genre's - Highlanders and the Fae, lol. I'm not expecting them to be as great as Fever.

Has KMM said if she's doing a spin off series yet?

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments Wendy wrote: "Has KMM said if she's doing a spin off series yet?"

She said she's doing 3 books for the spin-off series

message 493: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I just bought The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson . I have heard a lot about it and I got it really cheap, so I am going to give it a go.

I also bought Flyte (Septimus Heap, #2) by Angie Sage and Physik (Septimus Heap, #3) by Angie Sage

I'm sure we don't know anything about it though?

I was thinking about how it would be nice if it was about Dani... See, I'm Shadowfever obsessed. It's all I think about.

message 495: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Oh man!! That's awesome!! That's what I was hoping...

message 496: by Heidi (last edited Jan 28, 2011 02:08PM) (new)

Heidi Amanda The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a slow starter, but I really liked the whole trilogy.

Seriosly?! I knew one book was about Ryodan, but that was all. This is FAB news!

BirdiesBookshelves Just got Bleeding Violet (Portero, #1) by Dia Reeves Rot & Ruin (Benny Imura, #1) by Jonathan Maberry Night Star (The Immortals, #5) by Alyson Noel . Found them half price at a used bookstore :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Did anyone mention the graphic novel that KMM is doing set in the Fever world? I think that's coming out before the spin-off. Too lazy to look up the info right this sec but I can later.

message 500: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments I got Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning last night. It's HUGE! And gorgeous - the cover is definitely my favourite of many. Can't wait to start it.
