And my kids have early dismissal today--Grace will be home in a half hour & Jack in 1.5 hours. And it's his birthday today, so I guess I have to be a good mom and not ignore him with my face buried in Shadowfever.
I see more sleep deprivation in my near future... ;)

Maybe he'll get so into his prezzies that he'll ignore you long enough to sneak in a chapter ;D

LOL! Happy Birthday, Jack!!

My 2 nieces have them, they're 10 & 12, our 9 yr old neighbor kid has one, and Jack keeps telling me all the time how everyone in his class has a phone. Well, I know everyone doesn't, but I just thought 11 was too young for a phone.
But during the hubby back & forth, I agreed to a phone, but just a cheap one--he doesn't need an iphone. A little history for hubby's argument--I was the first to get an iphone. Hubby had an ipod touch, so when he got an iphone (because he was so jealous of mine) we gave his itouch to Jack. So now, with all the apps, Grace is always using hubby's or my iphone to play games. So hubby's argument was, why would someone have an itouch and a regular phone? Give him an iphone, and Grace can have the itouch and we can get our phones back.
And we have an unlimited family plan, so it just costs $20 a month for him to have an iphone, $10 for the extra line, and $10 for the smallest internet package. And the 3GS is only $50 now since the 4 came out.
So yes, I saw all his points, and agreed. I was just holding out on principle. And I finally relented.
Plus, I can never think of what to get him--early Feb birthdays suck so soon after the bombardment of Christmas.
:grumble grumble: Spoiled rotten kids.
Oh, good review! You really got me interested! Sounds a little as the earlier Anita.

Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh 16-02-2011 ★★★★ Somewhere between 3,5 and 4 stars.
Oh, what to say about this one! Since it was the first book I've read about angels, I really didn't know what to expect. I had some trouble getting into it in the beginning, and even after it had started to get more interesting, it wasn't enough to keep me wanting to get back to it. It was just okay. However, after the second half of the book, things changed, and I was finally hooked. I couldn't put it down for the whole last part and I ended up really enjoying it!
Of course, I loved Raphael. No surprise there! Mostly I loved that he wasn't like the usual male characters, and you could really notice that he didn't think and react human at all, but like an archangel. Elena though, I wasn't really a fan of. She felt like a very young Anita Blake, but not quite as enjoying to read about. I liked her a lot more towards the end though and she had me laughing more than once with her sarcastic comments. Two other angels who also made an impression on me was Illium and Jason!
The only other book I'd read by Nalini Singh before this one, was the first book of Psy-Changeling series, and I have to say that I liked that one more. At least when looking at the plot and writing. I did love the characters in Angels' Blood more though, and I'm glad I decided not to give up on it. I will definitely continue with this series!

"Of course, I loved Raphael. No surprise there!" :)

Loved it. Don't quite know how to review it without giving away spoilers, so I'll just be vague. ;) I have GR friends who wanted to wait until this series was complete before they started reading it, so they are just reading the first couple books now, and listening to them complain about Mac in the 1st book--just like I did--really makes her growth throughout the series that much more noticeable for me. Wow, huh?
And Barrons. Sigh. Love that man. I am always a sucker for the dark, broody, tortured ones. ;)
