UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'm already thinking of changing from 9 books to something less. Although, it is a non-restricted challenge, so I can change at any time.

D.G. Oh Dhes, so we can go up or down if we need to?

I'll be able to join you at the Pot Luck. :) I'll start with Jack Temptations an move up to Kev's Manly Morsels if I can. **fans self**

Beverly | 64 comments Please sign me up for choice #7. "Sebastian’s Scrumptious Sensations – Your choice of any 8 or more “dishes” selected from 6 or more “food groups.”

I'd already agreed to read 11 from my TBR pile, and coincidentally most of those on on these lists. I might diet until Nov. 1 and then enjoy the feast. Thanks!

Tee hee hee hee :)

Miss Kate wrote: "There's so many out there, it's just so hard to choose!"

That's why I like this challenge, it gives me a limited list.

When I've eliminated those I suggested and those I've already read, I'm left with a few to click on and see what the average ratings have been. These seem to be hitting in the high 3's and low 4's, which is a lot better than I get from general searching or recommendation.

I may end up choosing to complete the entire list for some of the genres next year!

Yep!!! I figured that, with having to choose from a list of books, I wasn't going to also make it restricted to the point that you couldn't change your "meal plan" in case the things you tried weren't "tasty" enough for you!!! :)

That's EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I asked everyone to "bring" only their favorite "dishes." And I have to say, you ladies really, really pulled it off! This is one of the best lists of books I've ever seen, in all the genres!!!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Beverly, I've got you down for a #7 - 8 books.

message 158: by Megan (new)

Megan | 546 comments #2. Jack Travis’ Tantalizing Temptations – Your choice of any 3 or more “dishes,” selected from 1 or more “food groups.”

Ok, If I'm being honest, 1/2 the reason I chose this option is because I'm in love with Jack. lol *seriously* and the other 1/2 is because I am drowning in to read books that I got from the library and unfortunately none of them were listed, lol.

I don't plan out what I am going to read ahead of time anymore because I NEVER stick to my list, I'm so bad at that. So I will read at least 3 of the following options:

Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie Long Hard Ride (Rough Riders, #1) by Lorelei James Passion by Lisa Valdez The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley Where Dreams Begin by Lisa Kleypas A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley Cole The Host by Stephenie Meyer Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews

message 159: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments Megan do read The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie it is amazing. Just my 2 cents. LOL

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Yay! We're glad to have you, Judy!!!

I'll put you down for 4 books. Be sure and list your stats for me like this: x/4. If you go over 4, I'll list them as bonus books :)

message 162: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments Megan - I'm supposed to be reading Soulless and The Host too!

Good Luck!

Oh! And I picked Jack because I'm in love with him too..he was my fav out of all those listed!! :-)

message 163: by D.G. (new)

D.G. OK...here's what I got. ;)

POT LUCK CHALLENGE - Jack Travis’ Tantalizing Temptations : (0/3)
Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward (P)
Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James (C)
The Spymaster's Lady by Joanna Bourne (H)

This last one is not in the list but Dhes said we could use a book not listed if another book from the same series is listed.

message 164: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Dear ladies,

I've gotten some questions regarding the total number of books required when reading for this challenge, so I want to clarify things.

Let's say you sign up for #3. Derek Craven’s Carnal Cravings – Your choice of any 5 or more “dishes” selected from any 3 or more “food groups.” That means that you'll read a total of 5 books (or more if you choose to) from 3 of the "food groups." That does NOT mean you have to read 5 from EACH of the 3 "food groups."

Please don't be embarrassed to ask questions. If there's something you're not understanding, it's likely that I wasn't clear enough and that there are others who are wondering the same things you are. I don't mind questions at all!

Sorry for the confusion :)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments I love A Kingdom of Dreams Suzanne!! Enjoy!

message 169: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) See, now I didn't like A Kingdom of Dreams as much as other people. I'll be interested to see what you think, Suzanne :)

message 170: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments do you recall what you didn't like about it?

message 171: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) It was mainly the heroine. She just grated on my nerves for practically the whole book. And, when it came to a point where I actually liked her, she went a did something that made me not like her again!

I think I explain it more eloquently in my review, LOL. At least I hope so.

message 172: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Jennifer was a tough heroine to like for a good deal of the book, but in the end, she redeemed herself in my eyes.

message 173: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments hmm...I remember liking her...her spunk...and all the pranks she pulled..I remember giggling about it.. but it has been forever since I read it.

message 174: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) I ended up liking her in the end, but the two of us had a very rocky relationship. Sometimes it was even more volatile than Jennifer and Royce at their worst! LOL ;)

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 170 comments Suzanne wrote: "...Colters' Woman by Maya Banks..."

I plan to read that one also, Suzanne. It's sitting on my bedside table crying "why wait for November?"

Colters' Woman (Colters' Legacy, #1) by Maya Banks

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I have Kingdom of Dreams on my shelf for ages, so I thought I had better get started on it. I had heard loads of good things about it, but it ruins the whole book for me when I don't like the heroine, hopefully she won't annoy me, but according to my friends, unless a heroine is some kind of sarcastic warrior bitch I hate the female characters! Which I disagreed with until I looked at my fave characters and realized they were all exactly like that!!

Only 6 days Mollie! You can do it, don't give in! That was the only book on the list I could get my hands on, so I definately CANNOT read it until November!

message 177: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 718 comments UM, congrats on creating such an interesting challenge. I shouldn't join this because I'm on a diet, LOL, but how can I resist? I haven't decided which meal I'll have yet, but I'll probably choose a light one. Let me sleep on it and I'll get back to you later.

message 178: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Well, I hope you do like AKOD, Suzanne. I'd heard a lot of good things, too, and from people I trust like Dhes and LethalLovely, but I still didn't like it as much. The same could be said of me, too, of loving the heroines that are sarcastic warrior bitches, and Jennifer is actually very sarcastic but there was just a bunch of stuff that went into me not liking her so much.

message 179: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Thank you, Dina! I'm glad it was tempting enough to get you to want to take a nibble ;)

I'll add you to the list, then just let me know what you decide to try :)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Alycia, I'm going to change my historical romance read from A Rake's Guide To Pleasure by Victoria Dahl to Ride the Fire (Blakewell/Kenleigh Family Trilogy, #3) by Pamela Clare . I've been wanting to read that book for so, so long, and since I can fit it in to this challenge, I'm going to go for it.

message 182: by Catherine (last edited Oct 24, 2010 01:46PM) (new)

Catherine | 182 comments Nooooo! I've been waiting forever for you to read that book! :P

*Le sigh* Confirmation the world does not revolve around me. :(

message 183: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Oh, Catherine! I'm so, so sorry :( How bout this... as soon as I finish the book I'm currently reading, Port of Paradise by Lisa Marie Rice , I'll dig out A Rake's Guide. Sound good? I'll be finished with PoP tonight.

message 184: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 182 comments You know I'm just playing with you. :) You can read it at your leisure. It's not like I won't be here when you get around to it! :P

message 185: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Well, I know you're kidding, but the thing is, there are so many I want to read. SOOOO, I've re-thought my thinking. LOL I know that Ride the Fire (Blakewell/Kenleigh Family Trilogy, #3) by Pamela Clare is going to be a deeply emotional book, so I think I'll read that as soon as I finish PoP because that gives me a whole week to read it.

SO ALYCIA, I'll still be reading A Rake's Guide for the challenge.
