Carolyn F. I've read all these books and really enjoyed them. Classic murder mysteries.

They're very much "chick" mysteries, but that's why I liked them. I don't like when it gets so suspensful I can't sleep. These give me a mystery, albeit an easy one, without the nightmares.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I thought these ones were cute.

message 6: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments This one is all complete.

message 7: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I didn't realize it was complete Darcy - I wouldn't have minded at least one more.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I really like her Shakespeare series, I wish she would write more in that one. For me this one came to a good ending.

Paula (pauldajo) I liked the Shakespeare series also. I listened to them, rather than read the books. Even though I didn't care for the Aurora Teagarden series, I still want to finish the remaining books. I think I listened to the first three. There are characters and situations in which I'm interested. Maybe if I read the books instead of listened to them, I would be happier with them.

I only read the first one and I gave it two stars. I didn't think it was a bad book, but it also didn't interest me enough to continue the series (but to be fair, I don't think cozy mysteries are really my genre). The romance was lukewarm and the only really nailbiting part was when the MC found out who killed all those people, but it was a quick fun read and the MC is cute.
I heard her Shakespeare series were a lot more intenser?

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments They were more intense than these. If you are looking for an intense mystery check out Cody McFadyen, Karin Slaughter, Chelsea Cain, and Jack Kilborn. All of those authors are not for the faint of heart, there will be graphic scenes.

Jasmine (jadorejas94) | 950 comments Karen Rose is one of my favorite Romantic Suspense authors. Her scenes are very graphic and I always love the romance involved. I didn't read her stuff in order, but she's an immediate buy for me. I have two of her books sitting on my shelf waiting to be read right now. Some books are a lot heavier on the romance then others, I think her newer ones don't seem to have as much as her older ones.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll check them out (also good for a birthday present for my sister, who loves thrillers/mysteries)

Jasmine (jadorejas94) | 950 comments Karen Rose writes sex scenes, just to let you know. Lol, I don't know if your sister's okay with that. . .so. . .yea just putting that out there!

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

lol thanks for the warning! She's not really into romance (yet! trying to convert her with books like this that aren't completely romance, but also have interesting plot haha), but she will read it if the plot is good :)

Jasmine (jadorejas94) | 950 comments Oh, then definitely recommend them! LOL.

Lisa | 35 comments I have read all of this series and really love it. I first found C.Harris when I read the first couple of the Southern Vamp books. Then I realized she had this and the Lily series and started reading everything she had out.

**SPOILERS**

I was heartbroken when Martin died, but I like they way she and Robin get together and she even gets a child in the end (especially since this bothered her through most of the series).

message 18: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I was so sick when Martin died - it seemed like it just came out of nowhere. He wasn't that old! I like Robin too but I thought her and Martin had something more. Remember when he first sees her at the house she's showing him - very intense. Loved it.

message 19: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 35 comments I totally agree!! I was so heartbroken. I have read through the whole series twice and the second time it was so hard for me to read this one because I knew what happened.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I agree with you guys about Martin, it was a shock.

It really was, but it's kind of nice to have an author do something so unexpected and to have you blindsided every now and then. It takes a lot of guts to do something like that to one of your characters because you risk losing fans.
