The best fish in Alberta is rainbow trout, in my opinion. There are a couple of little lakes nearby to me that have rainbow.

Ha ha! Love your haul, Kat! Read two of those and hope to read Hourglass soon.

Wow! Happy reading Kat.

Isn't that the one we're reading next, or no?

Have you ever read Left Neglected -about a brain disorder which "erases" all things on the Left side? It's fiction also. But I really reccommend Stroke of Insight by Bolte -an actual brain surgeon, and teacher of brain surgeons- who at age 45, had a stroke and within two hours became a toddler mentally, and her recovery. I saw recently as a presenter in a New Age type seminar.

It's book club meeting tonight and I am to reveal the next book to read. I've decided to present Still Alice. There's no point in adding another book to my list.

Except for I don't own it. I'm dropping the ball and apologize for that. No, let's stick with our plan and I'll get a hold of Cup of Gold next week!

Betsy, I actually have My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist's Personal Journey on my TBR so thank you for reminding me. Have you read it?

That's great. It's perfect for a book club and it will generate much discussion. Be sure and share your thoughts when finished.

I read Stroke of Insight awhile ago,and absolutely loved it. I actually read parts it in my resource room to give the kids an idea of how the brain worked and an appreciation of their own brains and how a motivation to learn can overcome the biggest tragedy.

Drood has to be one of the thickest books I've ever seen. It's at least 3 inches thick. But it looks like the print is relatively big, and it reigns in at under 600 pages.
I'm not sure when I will start it - have several books higher on my priority. These are times when I wish I could read faster.

Oh I believe it, I keep eyeing it at the branch of the library I go to. It keeps calling my name but I worry about starting such a large book.

Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang, If I Stay and From Where I stand

Also got my copy of

I was so impressed by Tabitha Suzuma's writing in Forbidden, I had to go out and find as much of her other work as I could!

I know what you mean I'm going to be reading A Note of Madness by her next week, unfortunately thats the only other book of hers that the library has.

War Horse was a great read, One that I'm sorry it took me so long to read but one that I'll be reading to my babies one day :)

Great job, Janice! I've read a few on the list. But I'm really envious of 1 that you snagged that I have not been able to put my hands on:
The Invisible Mountain. That sounds sooooo good. Hope you have a geat time with the haul.
