Shannon (sianin) | 453 comments Just bought The Falcon Of Siam and The Falcon Takes Wing because I only got half way through the first one when I got it through ILL and was realling enjoying it so I got the second one too. I had never realized that there was a second one until recently. Because these are older novels, I bought them off of Abebooks.com and have to say the shipping was incredibly fast (even coming from England to Canada!) Now I just have to find the time to read them. Happy sigh

The best fish in Alberta is rainbow trout, in my opinion. There are a couple of little lakes nearby to me that have rainbow.

Kimberly | 2033 comments Darren bought me Fifty Shades of Grey Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James by E.L. James on Tuesday. Its funny how he buys me smutty books but has no idea what they're about unless I talk to him about them or he reads my reviews.... I'm a little worried about reviewing this one (my older brother reads my blog) so its kind weird. Can't wait to read this one though, a bunch of other GR friends love it, even the more conservative ones.

Have you ever read Left Neglected -about a brain disorder which "erases" all things on the Left side? It's fiction also. But I really reccommend Stroke of Insight by Bolte -an actual brain surgeon, and teacher of brain surgeons- who at age 45, had a stroke and within two hours became a toddler mentally, and her recovery. I saw recently as a presenter in a New Age type seminar.

I read Stroke of Insight awhile ago,and absolutely loved it. I actually read parts it in my resource room to give the kids an idea of how the brain worked and an appreciation of their own brains and how a motivation to learn can overcome the biggest tragedy.

Janice (jamasc) | 60012 comments I went crazy at a book sale yesterday. It was a fund raiser, and you could buy as many books as you wanted and pay as much as you want. One of the area towns lost homes and businesses, including their library, in a forest fire a couple of years ago. People donated books to rebuild the library. The books at the sale were duplicates or not suitable for the library. Proceeds of the sale would go to the new library. I gave them $20.00 for the 2 bags I had. When I dumped them out, I had 20 books!!

Drood
The Invisible Mountain
Pirate Latitudes
Horns
Ape House
The Angel's Game
The Golden Goblet
Elfstones Of Shannara
The Golden Unicorn
Infinity in the Palm of Her Hand: A Novel of Adam and Eve
The Ghost Brush
Antony and Cleopatra
Dragon Seed
Cannery Row
The Angry Hills
Jamaica Inn
Tess of the D'Urbervilles
The Bone Garden
Rising Sun
Like Water for Chocolate
Possessing the Secret of Joy

It's been nice knowing you all. I'll take my books with me when they come to take me away... to the funny farm... where life is gay!

Drood has to be one of the thickest books I've ever seen. It's at least 3 inches thick. But it looks like the print is relatively big, and it reigns in at under 600 pages.

I'm not sure when I will start it - have several books higher on my priority. These are times when I wish I could read faster.
