message 554: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Yeah! I'm going to try really hard. I'm starting a new one today and am reading another book already. So maybe I can beat her! :D LOL

message 555: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Go Leah, go!!

message 556: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments We'll keep it a secret, Leah. That way she won't find out what you're up to and try and beat you! Shhhhhh.... we won't tell a soul....

message 557: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Thanks, D.G.!

Okay, Dhes, thanks for your support! Here's to hoping I can do it before tomorrow night! LOL

message 563: by Leah (new)

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments LOL, yes Leah, you don't have long to go! I need to finish "Hot Target" by Suzanne Brockmann by the end of the day so I can complete my last Oct challenge! But like Leah said, this site is very distracting!

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 170 comments So what are you doing online, Suzanne? Get back to it, it's certainly worth reading.

message 567: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) I am very sad to say that I will probably not finish my book today! Took much going on with Halloween. *SIGH!* Plus it's over 500 pages and I'm only on like 150, LOL. I appreciate all your faith in me, though! Next month, I am going to read 21 books if it kills me! Because, if memory serves, Suzanne is doing 20 again, right? LOL ;P

message 568: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments It's ok, Leah! You did grrreat!!! I've finished the month with 14, maybe 15 books. You're both way better than I am!

message 569: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Well you've done great, too, Dhes! Reading 15 books a month is quite the accomplishment :D

message 570: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Thanks, Leah. I always stress that I won't finish a challenge, but I usually manage and have time to read more.

Same here, which I why I rarely do challenges where I have to make specific lists of books because I never know what I'm going to be in the mood for reading either.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Excellent, BJ!!!!

message 574: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Leah, which is why I try to create flexible challenges, because I'm the same way... I am an emotional/moody/fickle reader. Once I start a book, I have to finish it. It's not in my DNA to be able to put it down. LOL So I need flexibility.

I know that SOME of these challenges are harder, and that's because I had gotten PMs from people asking for harder challenges. That's why I offer the BYO, so that they can make them as difficult as they want. More power to 'em! LOL

message 582: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I hit post before I was through.. LOL

I've been stocking up on Harlequins at the Friends of the Library sales for 20cents each. They made great fillers for challenges.

message 583: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Too bad I'm not much of a Harlequin reader anymore! Sometimes I'm in the mood for something short but most of my books are 300+ pages.

Although I've been reading some Classics in short spurts because I have them on my iPod. This year I read the unabridged The Count of Monte Cristo which is over 1000+ pgs. by fitting in a few chapters a day. :)

I'm planning to do the same next year with a few other classics. :)
