I think half the population will be celebrating on Friday night, and the other half drowning their sorrows.

I'm really excited as well. So curious how they will decide.

I'm setting my alarm for very early tomorrow morning, so that I can see the results come in. The final result is expected around 7am, so I'll either be jubilant or crying into my coffee by this time tomorrow. :D
Seems like they voted against independence. Hm, a "yes" would have made things really interesting. At least from an outside point of view.
No matter what, I hope you're happy with the result, Lannister! :-)

Also, thanks everyone for the kind words about my cat. I check in with my parents about her and she seems to be doing alright.

Anyone doing anything exciting at the weekend? I'm doing NOTHING and I couldn't be happier about it. :D
*bliss*

I'm going to go watch Jessabelle with my girlfriends, (one hates horror movie, and I haven't told her we're going...lol someone going to be sleeping with the light on tomorrow night..lol)
And I'll probably watch eveything I DVRed this week.
Oh Can't forget about sleep, ummmm sleep. XD
That's awesome!
My weekend will be busy. I have to finish some work, we have to stack our firewood (it's getting cold in Austria), some other things to do in the house like painting etc.
Sunday we will take tests with our shelter dogs since they all are, you know, evil pit bulls. *rolls eyes* We hope once they pass the test (which they will have to take with their new owners again), it makes it easier for them to find a home.
Next week my parents come visiting us. :-)

Sarah, sounds like a busy weekend. I will think of you whilst snuggling under the duvet. :D

I did make some super awesome pumpkin scones though, so I count it as a win.

Nah. I like crunching leaves, too.

I hate getting out of bed when it's cold outside. I should've been born as a bear. :/

until late October, which I enjoy.
If anyone is interested in the recipe I used for the pumpkin scones, here's the link:

I didn't have cloves, so I just left it out. Also, I did not add the glaze. I really enjoy them like this and so do my roommates. I really recommend this recipe because it is quick and easy.

Definitely going to give them a try!
I'm sure I should be able to use fresh pumpkin in place of canned.
Claire - canned pumpkin - is it already 'pureed' or is it just diced and preserved?

I can't stop eating Nigella Lawson's Breakfast Bars. They are incredibly addictive, and I tell myself that, despite the sugary carnation milk, they're good for me because they're packed with seeds, nuts and oats. I ate them all summer as a portable snack when I was out cycling. This is the recipe if anyone's interested:

Also, I'm totally gay for Nigella. That's got nothing to do with anything. :P

I moved from one to the other part of the city and had no internet at home till now. Also I didn't read much in the year I've been away. I did read Masks and the Pritkin stort :)

Hey Missdevora! Welcome back! I'd noticed that you disappeared a while back and hadn't been on GR for ages. I sometimes worry a bit when someone just disappears, because you really hope nothing bad has happened to them. I'm glad you're OK, even if things have been rough. I hope your family's situation picks up. I know the whole of Spain has it really tough right now.
But I'm glad so you're around again! *sends hugs*

OMG those look fantastic!!! *drools*

Sending lots of blessings and a big hug ((( <3 )))
OMG that looks too yummy to eat!!!

Why is it that cooking desserts and other tasty delights is never such hard work as peeling and chopping vegetables?!
I had Gwyneth Paltrow chicken for dinner tonight. I read this recipe/stream of conciousness article and I just had to try it. I can't say it's the best chicken I've ever had, but it was pretty tasty. It's not actually called 'Gwyneth Paltrow Chicken', but that's how I'll refer to it in my head from now on.

All recipes should written like this one was! I don't even like Gwyneth Paltrow, but the article made me want to try the dish anyway.

Pfft I had the greatest birthday ever Tuesday, my dad got fired. He's 59 so no social security yet and his work (where he has been since they moved to Texas in 06) left my dad hanging for like a week. Knowing he was going to be fired, but they wouldn't come out and say it for certain until they got the police accident report. Oh, because he totaled another car. :D It wasn't a company car it was his personal car. My dad is the opposite of the rainman he is not a very good driver, I think I would be a better driver.
extra ugh because the fax/copy machine is in my room and my dad just had to make copies early this morning. Not cool dude to wake up to beep boop beep beep as you press the buttons!
Our dogs are gonna get fat now that he will be home more. After I did all of the work getting them better/healthier food/treats....

Because, you know, what if they were taken by aliens? That is embarrassing, and then the aliens might know that you knew.
Yep, best to just keep quiet about it all.

Though it is definitely tiring Kathleen.
At least if they'd give us a date, I wouldn't constantly be having to search around like a madwoman to see if there were any updates. *sighs*

I think we're all feeling the general frustration of a delayed release, but it's manifesting in different ways. :/

but god I have missed you guys!
I feel like I have been missing for forever. I wasn't even lurking around :( been completely out of the loop - so actually I did not even know RtW was delayed...
Anywho.. just came by to say Hi :)
My wedding is in less than 2 months (2nd December) and things are... hectic. Its a big, fat, Rajasthani wedding and... yeah. I am glad I wanted one :)

Is you wedding *in* Rajasthan? Is that where you are?
A friend of a friend is from India but Ives in Houston. She married a man from a different part of India and perhaps as different flavor of Hinduism, and they had traditional ceremonies from both Indian states in full splendor in one day in Houston, with completely different gorgeous outfits for each ceremony.
My friend Kate said the two ceremonies and the preparations in between took all day, but it was magnificent! And, of course, the food was superb. She had a wonderful time.
But the planning and organization involved must have been staggering!

I am in Rajasthan. In Jaipur to be precise.
Indian weddings are long. Even when you shorten them.. they tend to easily last a day in India. Even the actual wedding ceremony takes like 2 to 3 hrs.
We're not bothering to shorten my wedding... so it's officially starting in the morning of the 30th of Nov. and will officially end on the afternoon of the 3rd of Dec.
With lots of clothes, lots of food, lots of family, friends and lots of well.. everything.
I haven't seen Monsoon wedding - but from what I've heard - its pretty much true :D
About pictures... they'll be up on facebook quite quickly.. everywhere else.. I am sure I will figure out a way so you guys can see them :) it'll just be a while before I do that tho.
EDIT: If you google Mubarak Mahal, City Palace, jaipur - you will see my wedding venue :)
And if you google Kalwar Castle, Rajasthan - you will see the venue for the sangeet (a pre-wedding dance party of sorts - happening on the night of the 30th).

I was thinking about you the other day, and thinking about how your wedding was getting close. I googled those venues and, wow, they look fantastic!! I know you've talked about family weddings before and how they can last a week. Man, we like a piss up in Scotland, but that's pushing it even by our standards LOL!
I don't know how much you'll be around in the next couple of months, but I can't wait to see pics either, cos I think it's going to be amazing for you!! I love that Indian weddings are so bright and colourful compared to the (mostly) boring old suits and white meringue dresses you get in the west. Are you willing to share any info on your outfit? (I totally understand if you want to keep it secret!)
Thinking of you. *sends hugs*
