I honestly jumped at the offer because I wasn't sure if once this offer has ended the prices might go up..So I thought what the heck :D
Thanks for the links Laura, I'm very interested! So not sure about it though >.< Might go into Dick Smith and ask some questions....

Oh, just whether 3G or Wi Fi, that sort of thing...I'd like to see the size and the screens too...

Yeah, I'm thinking that too Michael! I'm just not sure about the whole ereader thing yet...O.o!!!!

I love my kindle, I am trying to read a hardback at the moment, I hate the size if it, the size of the print, the width of the sentences. I have my kindle set up perfectly for my reading speed.
My two cents worth.

And we all know as readers your book collection will grow and grow...So the likely hood of having nothing on the kindle to read would be slim..NOT saying this is fact..Just a general observation on how ppl are with books when they are readers.
I honestly went for the kindle to save space...Don't get me wrong I love the smell and feel of books and I also love seeing the colour/artwork on covers but I need space moreso.

Check it out- http://www.lunchstudio.com/

That's exciting Laura. I got one for Christmas (Wi-fi only) and absolutely love it. I am surprised by how much I love it. I have problems with my hands and so I've now got to the point where I don't want to read anything unless it's on my Kindle as it's so much more compact.
My hubby, who suffers from technophobia keeps pinching the darn thing on me. I tried to convince him how great it was when I first got it but he flat refused to even look at it. One day I was telling him about a book I was reading and before I knew it, he was reading and reading and reading the darn thing. I've threatened to buy him one now. I think he's interested. LOL
Oh and the 3G would be useless to me as I live rural and have no 3G services anywhere that I can access. I find the Wi-fi at home perfectly suitable for our needs.

I'll have to update mine...
A bit of trivia that I learned at the Book Fair today, and I think especially Knowledge will be interested in...
They had an original publication of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest at the fair, which is up for auction..to be held on Saturday. It's in pretty good condition too. An original (don't know how many were printed back in 1967) was auctioned recently in the US, and sold for $4000! The one at our fair was already up to $200 in bids today, so I wonder what it'll get to? I love books but don't think I love them that much!!!

WOW!!!!
WOW!!!!

Sorry I've been MIA lately but I've been writing the first draft of my new book - a mystery/suspense novel - but unfortunately it turned out very badly. I don't think I'm cut out, at this stage, to write in the contemporary world with all the sex, drugs, swearing, blood and guts that seem to go with today's thrillers. Mine read like a very tame Agatha Christie novel and just didn't feel right so I've trashed it for the time being and going back to writing fantasy. I'll be running a competition soon for a copy of Slade's Destiny, the final in the Witchcraft Wars trilogy and then I'm going back to my world of Kaynos where I feel more at home.
Other than that my health was really touch and go for about eight months with a serious blood condition and I ended up having to have a bone marrow transfusion to fix it but I'm feeling really good these days.
Also got two puppies, both Tibetan Spaniels, one white and gold and the other a dwarf black and white. Angel, the white one, is adorable and very patient with Pippa [the black one] but it makes me laugh the way Pippa always tries to play fight with Angel or the cat - don't know how many times Caesar has slapped her across the face but she still comes back for more.
I'll try and be a bit more active now that I'm healthier but I am starting a new book and finishing off a sci-fi short story so can't make any promises. It was good to hear from you all though - reading through all your comments, made me feel like I'd come home.
Cheers,
Trace
Tracey, lovely that you've been able to pop in again..we certainly miss you when you are MIA, as you put it;D
Bad luck about the mystery/suspense novel...I suppose you're best sticking with the world you know, but you might be able to revamp it down the track.
So glad your health is so much better these days...we'd love to meet your puppies...are you able to put a picture up? At least they make you happy:)
Good luck with everything, and take care:)
