I will have to get the details when I arrange mt trip, my hubby and I loved that movie and would love that style of Hotel.
As for books in asia, it's so humid here, the quality of second hand books is quiet bad :(

Haha! I've seen that before! They are very cheeky and certainly not frightened!

I've noticed more kookaburras around in the last year or so...Usually just sitting on a fence or wires minding their own business...Some would be laughing which always makes me grin.
We have a Blue-winged Kookaburra in Darwin - but they don't laugh like their southern counterparts - more of a screech and a sort of an ow ow ow noise when they are scared off.
I love the sound of kookaburras. It was one of the things I really missed when I was living in England - that, the sound of magpies and the smell of dry grass in summer...
Tassie never seemed to get maggies...They always used to remind me of Melbourne when I lived there for a while...But I'd say within the last few years we now have more maggies here...I love hearing their warble.
Oooohhh...Ooops!! I left off South from Tassie...But haha yes maybe a few have started to fly down here more.
Mr & Mrs Magpie and their two young have claimed my backyard. The cheeky things go into the garden shed and eat Tosca's (cat) biscuits. Magpies differ in looks from state to state, I didn't know that.A born mimic, they can copy over 35 other bird calls as well as dogs and horses. Imagine seeing a magpie but hearing a horse! lol:)
I'm having a day off work today and enjoying having my morning coffee on the deck as the garden is full of lorikeets chattering and calling out to each other in the huge gum tree next door. We're very lucky so close to the city to have them as well as magpies, currawongs, honeyeaters and even blue wrens occasionally. Not so lucky to have the Indian mynas!

What a great trip though!! Most highly recommended :D
Leave this afternoon for HK and then transfer for flight home to Sydney...see you all on the weekend sometime ;)

Unfortunately, not a very nice day to have off work but I've had a lovely time stocking up at the garden centre this morning - my second favorite place after bookshops :)

Welcome back home Brenda..How long until you go off again?-
Ohhh weekend is here!! Can't wait to do nothing...I've stuffed my left leg muscle up....I think a spa and reading is required for at least tomorrow!! I'm not really thrilled either because it stopped me walking properly O_o

At the moment, it's a week;) But that's only to Sydney for two days to meet and greet with some of our AR friends:)
After that - a cruise in April next year is all that's on the agenda (so far!)
Take care of the leg muscle - relaxing and reading is a good idea!

That should be lovely time meeting some from AR! Hope you all have a grrreeeeaaatttt time :D!!Oooh very nice..I've never been on a cruise..I always worried I'd get bored but there is something magical waking up and seeing just sea around you and heading out to the deck to see the sunrise up (did that on the Tas to Melb boat few times).
Thank you! I shall do. I've never experienced double cramping legs before until 2 days ago. Wasn't fun especially leading 24 children to a bus...lol
The old fashioned thought (my Dad used to say all the time) is you need more salt in your diet!!! Don't know how true it is;)
Actually..that is a good point...I love salt but moved onto one where I use alot less because it is SO tastey without much.I complained to my Mum about the cramps and she pointed me to some supplement but I cannot remember what it was...ooowww bugger :|
When one of my boys had a really severe leg cramp that persisted for several hours (probably from a sport induced muscle tear) the GP told us to feed him a bag of salty chips and a bottle of tonic water for the quinine. Did seem to do the trick!
Oooooo....I could go with a bag of salty chips...I usually avoid chippies/fries...Hmm...Maybe it's my calling!! LOL

I used to suffer a lot from cramps in the legs and was told it had something to due with dehydration and I notice if I don't drink my usual several glasses of water a day they come back.
Brenda wrote: "After that - a cruise in April next year is all that's on the agenda (so far!)..."I thought you didn't like cruising, Brenda? Did hubby sweet talk you into it?! Hope you're stocked up on ginger and Quells and acupressure bands etc!
LOL! Still not sure Kathryn! But this one is just going up the coast. I'm hoping that because we won't be "out in the ocean" it'll be alright! lol.... I'm hoping...
I just came back from the movies. We saw Bridge of Spies with Tom Hanks. It was really good. Spielberg at his best. The Russian spy was played by the same actor who played Cromwell in Wolf Hall.
That one would be really good I think...I've seen the trailer and liked it:) Glad you enjoyed it Phrynne!
Hi all!! I'm home again, what a great holiday that was! :) I'm still a bit furry brained atm and need a good sleep to get back into sync, but otherwise great. Unfortunately I didn't get much reading done...too busy out and about everyday and night! I've got a lot of catching up to do now :{Did anyone go to the Sydney book expo?? I know Andrea Drew was having a stall there...hope it went well. Wish I could have gone.

Can't help re Sydney book expo. I didn't go.
☼♄Jülie wrote: " Did anyone go to the Sydney book expo?? I know Andrea Drew was having a stall there...hope it went well. Wish I could have gone. ."I went on the Saturday Julie. There were about 40 indie authors and all books were selling for $15 to $20. All the authors were lovely and it was so nice chatting to them I wanted to buy everyone's books but after buying 5 books, transport and lunch it was an expensive day. They had quite a few books on display which I was interested in but they weren't selling them until Sunday. I went with my mum who is not a reader so she was a little bored.

I had an exhausting day yesterday. Needed to take our car for a long run so planned a day trip to a nearby National Park and go for a swim in one of the waterfall pools. Took our youngest grandson (5). Well we got there and so did a million tourists! No room in any of the rock pools - car parks all full. We decided to drive down a 4x4 track to a campsite that is seldom used and walk back to the rock pool. They have moved the campsite - sign said walk was 30 mins round trip. Experience tells us the National Park times do not take a rock collecting, bird watching 5 year old into consideration so walk one way was half an hour! Couldn't swim as was standing room only! So trudged back to car. 38 C people! Down in a little valley thing so no breeze - had one water with us which we made sure James drank the most of. Got back to car and instead of going to the next waterfall we decided to come home to our pool in the back yard! I tell you we all sizzled when we got in the water! Am so tired today - think the heat has sapped all the strength out of us. May continue to drink lots of water - turn the air conditioner on early - and read today.

We were down at Sussex inlet on time and a kookaburra came and pinched a sausage off the barbecue. Then sat on the tree nearby and tried to kill the sausage. DH was standing at the barbecue at the time. What could we do but laugh at the cheek of it!
