Chat about whatever you like: the weather, good stuff, bad stuff, family or pets!

That was a big, unpleasant surprise.
But yes, very sensible decision, I guess. Hopefully you still pop in from time to time :) Have fun in 'retirement'

How's this for the most amazing, upbeat attitude to life!
"My family is fortunate enough to have a small weekender in the country. I found out yesterday that 50 cows “broke in” and spent the whole day eating my beloved veggies, daisies and lavender. They also left many sloppy reminders that they had been roaming all over the lawn. I haven’t stopped laughing about it, and as I show people the photos, everyone asks why I’m not more upset? I have an attitude whereby, you cannot control what happens to you, but you can certainly control how you react to it. Whether it’s a delayed flight, traffic gridlock or a herd of cows; you have you ask yourself, “Do I have any control over this situation”? If not, relax and just go with it. There is often a silver lining if you let yourself find it. My beautiful neighbours have spent the day helping restore the garden and have confirmed my belief in kind hearted Australians helping a neighbour in need. I hope that there is a silver lining shining brightly for you."
Beautiful!! :)

Sorry that you feel the need to retire, but family comes first. Do stay in touch, keep reading, relax whenever you can. Take care of yourself while you are busy taking care of others.

Laura are you vegetarian? I am, and so is my daughter Jai. I've bought a few Quorn products but they are eaten before I get to try them (even my non vegetarian daughter likes them so they must be good). Will find the Dippers and try them myself. Thanks for the tip. Actually the check out lady mentioned to me how good the Quorn products were when I bought the first ones.

Just signed up. I used to eat Carman's muesli bars but haven't for ages.

@Brenda- Thank ya!! ^_^
@Maggie- No, I'm not. But I love to eat vegetarian meals whenever possible. Once a week we try to have planned meal that is strickly vegetarian.
This week I'll finally cook my pie that will use Quorn mince and will mix in some lentals most likely..It'll be scrummy.
But yes try them out sometime (if no-one gobbles them up before you get to it..lol) :D!

David, glad to hear about your poetry book. Congrats!
Tracey, that is just the cutest little dog!
Jessica, you keep us all entertained with your up to the minute tales of sporting and academic success. You should check out a short story writing group that I'm in...The Weekly Short Story Contest and Company! They have a poetry section as well.
Brenda, another group that I'm in (I'm in way too many groups) has a Dickens Project. Starting in May, they are going to slowly read their way through the entire works of Charles Dickens, in the order in which they were written. The group is Readers Review.
Hi to everyone else that I haven't mentioned, hope you are having a good day. We were in a bushwalking event on Saturday and it was 35.7 degrees...way too hot for walking. We've still only had 4mm of rain in the past two months...endless sunshine here.
