It's sad that they have no thought for anyone but themselves - no thought for the consequences of their actions! But I guess it's the same everywhere...

That's exactly right Michael!
That's exactly right Michael!

I think that's because any possible consequences don't frighten them, they mostly get a slap on the wrist and they know it. At one stage the law threatened to squash their cars, but I think they are stolen cars anyway...they wouldn't do that to their own tyres.

Just don't get too musclebound!

Glad you weren't hurt worse. I have been known to mutter about lack of parental control from some parents in shopping centres too.

Still chuckling at the thought of three middle aged ladies taking on the misbehaved youth of Bankstown!

Hahaha Lol...you might be onto something there Carolyn! Although Bankstown shopping centre might be a bit ambitious for our first go!
Picture it...we could go about slapping unruly shoppers and their kids :D
(Note to self, work on projected image!)

Make sure you have a bodyguard with you;)

I used to be ready for mine to go back somewhere around Boxing Day. I used to wonder if I was an unnatural mother:)"
Not at all - I was the same with the girls - its funny though my oldest daughter says now she understands how I felt as she is hanging out for school to start :)

When we were in Christchurch last year there were signs up all over the place saying no hooning between 6 pm and 6 am. We were quite amused and was chatting to a local about it. Apparently before the earthquake it was a major problem across the city - a lot of the favourite roads were buckled in the quake and the problem has mostly disappeared. This local gentleman said a lot of people hoped the roads wouldn't be fixed so the hoons wouldn't come back :)

There is a British comedy skit show that has elderly people playing pranks on people in the style of "smile you're on candid camera" I forget its name but it is SO funny and sometimes quite naughty. but proves the young don't have the mononopoly on being tricky and funny :)

The shops get trashed with toys strewn everywhere and balls being tossed around...doesn't seem proper to me, am I just getting too old?? "
I hope you're okay, Julie. I can't believe the boy didn't apologise, let alone the parents.
I don't think it's the just the kids causing mayhem, though. I'm sure my friend won't mind me sharing her email about some of the tourists in her town: "Boy some tourists are pigs though, you can see what they do in the supermarket. Ripped open and half eaten chocolate blocks, packets of unwanted meat left in the kitchen utensil section... that's only a fraction of what must happen, the staff work flat out. We went into a gift shop and she was telling us how they leave cigarette butts in their crystal bowls... a woman sat down on some boxes of those Krona glasses - when asked to move she said a flat out no." Just terrible.

The series is a hoot if it's the one that's been on TV recently. But maybe it's not the same one, as the one I saw was Belgian, I think.
Found it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benidorm...

This one was called off their rockers - but will You Tube the other one.
Betty White from Golden Girls led the American Version :)

That's awful Vicki. Why don't some people have any manners anymore or respect for others? No wonder their kids are hard to control. My sister and some of my friends are teachers and are always complaining about how rude and uncontrollable kids are these days.

No not getting too old Julie, my youngest is a complete handful, and I avoid the shops for this reason. I get stressed and know it's no good for anyone. He just wants to explore but it's not the right place. Here on holidays we took him to Ballina a couple of times but had my husband with us when the big kids were at the movies. Just for a little time was ok, said hello to an elderly lady who appreciated the chat, but not so much when he outright said 'no' to her. That was enough. You can't do cafes etc, I just have to wait a couple of years or do it without him! Something tells me I'm in the minority. We don't go to restaurants with him either, but on the flipside if others have well behaved toddlers (or ones that don't run) I'd like some of that ;)

I can sympathise Suzanne. My older son was a complete ratbag when he was young. Couldn't sit still so restaurants and cafés were out of the question until he was 5 or 6 when we could venture out for an early meal armed with colouring books and puzzles to keep him quiet and seated. My hubby and I used to split the shopping up and venture out on our own while the other one stayed home. My second son was as placid as they come and a breeze to take to the shops so a lot of it does depend on the kid. However, I think the kids who ran into Julie sounded a lot older and should have known better and it doesn't sound like the parents made any attempt to rein them in.
I have just been notified that I was equal second top reviewer of AWW Romantic/Romantic Suspense for 2014! I reviewed 32 titles while the top reviewer did 34:)

WooHoo!! Awesome Brenda:)

Oh, LOL, I can just picture us! What a hoot. Let me know next time so I can be on time....

w00t! w00t! That's awesome. :)

Will do Marianne! Perhaps when we've cleaned up Bankstown we can start on Wollongong!

I'm not a bit surprised!

YAaaY! Congratulations Brenda!! :D

Lol...move over Golden Girls!

Ok Michael. We'll put you on the list :)

Lol....The "Dream" Team ;)

Then we'll just frighten them Brenda!!! Heheheeeeee :)

Might be time to consider a kindle or similar Bette? Instant downloads 24/7 :D

My cousin was killed 2013 coming home from Newcastle, by an idiot drag racing who ran up the back of the car and pushed her into a light pole. He is in jail at the moment, but only got 3 years with a non parole period of 16 - 18 months. A joke.

That's a tragedy Sharon and not a long enough sentence for taking someone's life. I hope they took his license away as well.

Yes, I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often Brenda! Hooning and burn outs is out of control here in some Sydney suburbs.
