Oh dear, Angela! Hope all is fixed now. I hate the heat and think I would have just perished in the olden days.

When I read this Ryan.I thought, you're staying inside till April? Then the last comment made me realise you obviously weren't talking about AFL.

We just arrived home from a lovely day out. Went to Gloucester to see my sister and her husband; had lunch and yakked for ages. Then got tangled up in the peak hour/school holiday traffic:( But we weren't in a hurry:)

It is fun - last one we found in our family was my grandfathers - just before he married my grandmother - 13 years after my mother had been born!! They had been living as man and wife all that time - had mum, had my aunty - then snuck off to the next county to get married while mum and my aunty were at school!!
HUGE family scandal! Mum mortified, aunt refused to speak to me for years, Nan and Pop had died by then. I thought it was great and wish they were still alive so I could ask how they met and fell in love.

Put a bottle of wine in the fridge for Friday afternoon drinkies in the pool - so all ready for the day to end.
Sorry to hear Laura! When are you due home? You must be terribly homesick by now - hopefully things will improve for you:)

Safe trip home:)
Safe trip home:)

Oh Laura!! *Hugs* you will be home soon.

Just do what you need to do Sally nobody has to know only the people that want to know, I did and don't regret it - very interesting.

With help from family members like my son who during a visit to Edinburgh got a copy of my mother and father's marriage certificate, which provided information about her mother and father, I have been writing a blog post (for family only) called Family Matters.:-) A nephew dug out extensive information about my father's WW1 service at Gallipoli and on the Western Front where he was awarded the Military Cross.
I have also included my childhood and adventures as a foreign correspondent. Still working on it but it has been very rewarding to have children and grandchildren say they have enjoyed reading it so far.

No idea about that either..will know hopefully when i get back. Yup, stressful times lay ahead.

And Laura, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you feel better soon.

I agree with Faye, Sally. No one needs to know that you are doing it.
And I love the story tree family. All kinds of gems come out.
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY LONG WEEKEND EVERYONE!!
Hope you all have a great weekend; lots of sun and fun, bbq's and laughter:) Happy to be Australian!

Ditto that Brenda! We are planning on doing just that :D

SO many places to eat there Brenda, hope you enjoyed. I like the idea of not being in a rush.. ;)

Thanks Brenda! Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys Auatralia Day.

Well Suzanne, if you ever want to start checking out your family history or any other kind of historical documents, then you live in a real handy place! (I'm in the Hunter Valley so takes more than 2 hours to get there)
It is a surreal experience. Handling some really old documents inspires a sense of awe. Yes a lot of my friends get a giggle out of what excites me!

Hope you all have a great weekend; lots of sun and fun, bbq's and laughter:) Happy to be Australian!"
Ditto!

Lol...you are a true family historian Regina! I get my kicks out of visiting cemeteries and most people think that's totally weird! All in the name of research...though I must admit to feeling a certain kind of relaxed when doing so, its like a meditation to me ;)

I hear you about the cemeteries Julie, and I don't think it's weird at all. Very serene places.

Hope you all have a great weekend; lots of sun and fun, bbq's and laughter:) Happy to be Australian!"
Hear, hear!
