I enjoy the interaction between members, and also from my perspective; stories and writing. I enjoy the demonstrated proactive approach to matter and easy flow here. :)

I know! I'm terrible, no time for GR as I'm in Toowoomba for five days of softball. Too much organising to get here!

I think that's a good idea Carolyn!

Leaving for Toowoomba for 5 nights 6 days for the national championships for PSSA softball (which is primary school level). It's hot here but great to get away to watch out daughter play. Left the other three kids at home with grandparents ;)

Thanks Brenda, daughter had her first ever flight. As I've not been online, how much of your hol have you got left?

Wow, just looked & didn't realise this group has so many members. My first comment was back in 2010. Time flies.

Just a few days now Suzanne:) Have a great time up there!

I love Toowoomba! Are you getting to do any sight-seeing while you're there, Suzanne? Or is it all softball? There are lovely gardens and nice walks around town and an excellent visitor information centre if you need any ideas. And then there's Highfields, which has the Chocolate Cottage, amongst other things...

That will be a nice mother/daughter trip for you Suzanne. Probably not very often she gets you to herself for so long! Enjoy Toowoomba and the softball :)

That's a positive way to start....

I agree, you shouldn't have to make 20 phone calls. I just wanted to make you (and anyone else) aware that your first port of call for badly injured (versus say an abandoned chick) wildlife should be a vet or an RSPCA clinic with vet facilities. The WIRES volunteers don't have veterinary training. They receive almost no funding (it used to be $13/month) and are usually left out of pocket with feed costs etc. And as you say, if the animal is too badly injured, a vet is the only person who can do it humanely. (I only know this because my man was an RSPCA manager for ten years -- I heard all the stories, except the worst ones, and can almost recite the various animal acts.)
We had an incident with a possum here a few years ago. Early one morning, we found a young possum at the bottom of a tree that had obviously been in a fight. He didn't put up much resistance when we carefully collected him in a towel and put him a box. Fortunately, it happened just as Alan was going to work, so he was able to take him with him. Unfortunately, the possum's injuries were just too serious and it had to be euthanised.

I'm not up early as much these days, which is a good thing. Have a lovely day, Marianne.

Morning EBs. This ring in here this morning.Like your thoughts there Vicki.

Thanks, Dale. I'm pretty much a ring in these days, too.

Thanks, I hope you all have a lovely day too. Here it is cool and drizzling, even though the weather radar shows no rain. My mum's wash, hanging on my line, tells a different story! May have to give it another spin and hang it in the garage...

You poor thing! I've done that before with a waiting room, but not for that length of time - it's like you left your right arm at home!

I like watching peoples shoes...lol Then looking at their face to see if their shoes match them or if it doesn't what they should wear....Yes, I'm strange like that but it kinda makes the time go quicker..

Oh, that is a long time to make you wait Veronica! I'd be climbing the walls long before then!
