I know what you mean Dale! I still love it even after living in Sydney for over 20y. Going across it every morning in the train is one of the highlights of my day. I love going for a picnic or walk at one of the harbour beaches or going somewhere on a ferry.

Have you ever had a walk around the Secret Garden at Lavender Bay Carolyn? Its beautiful!
We often think of coming to Sydney by train to wander around the Harbour, the Rocks area and all those lovely places. Just never seem to get to it;)

I've used a gift coupon before so I had a look but can't find it either Laura. (I did end up buying a book while I was there!)

No, I haven't Julie, but I have seen it featured on TV (Australian Story maybe?) so it's on my to do list!

It's a lovely way to spend a weekend Brenda. Stay overnight and you can wander down to Chinatown or catch a ferry somewhere. Heaps to do - just avoid school hols!

Its really worth a look...nice place for a picnic lunch with stunning views of Sydney Harbour and Luna Park...it has come a long way since I first saw it several years ago.

Yes and the lovely Rocks' Markets on a Friday night, magical!!! The Sydney Festival starts soon too.

We occasionally catch the train to Newcastle and have lunch. The train ride is very pretty and there are some lovely restaurants now by the water there.

While I don't live in Sydney any more you can tell part of my heart is still there.

An Aussie Readers meet up would be a great excuse to come to Sydney :)

Thanks for having a look! I wonder why it's SO hidden? It doesn't make any sense :s I don't remember it being so hard the last time I used one voucher.
Oh, a good book I hope it will turn out to be! :)
I actually had a coupon to use once (ages ago) and went through to checkout looking for the place to redeem it - couldn't find it and all of a sudden I had paid for the order! So I immediately emailed them, and they credited the amount onto my credit card...

It's awesome they did the credit...Mines just 5% but eh...I went out and spent double the price of the book on something else..LOL

LOL! It shouldn't be so hard to find...and 5% is 5% - better in your pocket....

I just came back from another Dymock's Literary Luncheon - this one was John Marsden. It was a delicious meal with wine and champagne followed by him being interviewed. It was very interesting. He has apparently just released his first adult book but I have forgotten what it is called!!! Maybe I should not have had that second glass:)

Sounds great! That's one thing about living in the country... It's very hard to get to those kinds of events.

Sounds great Phrynne. I looked up the Dymocks website recently but nothing caught my eye. I'll keep checking back as they're a great day out.

Sounds like a great day! I saw him once giving a talk about his books..I found him quite inspiring when I saw him many years ago.

He told some very amusing stories from when he was teacher. He also made me interested in reading his new book.

I agree! Feels like I need Friday today. Morning other EB's. It's currently 8.5 degrees here, with a forecast of 37. Just as well I have a pool session at work today :)
Have a good day other EB's

Good morning everyone! :)

Dale, you are too funny with that "second glass of wine" comment:) Made me smile.

Thanks Brenda, you are always on the ball.
Cheers Faye

Wow yes that goes on my list, thanks for the information. I love all her fiction books. I also love true crime. Will let you know what I think, might be a few weeks before I read it as I am a bit snowed under with the reading at the moment. Cheers

Enjoy Faye and let us know what bargains you find :)

Nothing like that harbour. When we flew into Sydney years ago after our first and only overseas trip, the sight of Sydney harbour brought tears to my eyes.
