Nalini's letter to fans re: Kiss of Snowhttp://us.penguingroup.com/static/pag...
*No real spoilers. Mainly discussing her thoughts on Hawke & Sienna.
Goodreads seemed to swallow my very sophisticated comment yesterday, so I try again today. When getting the book I started to read it immediately - no surprise there. I also read it very fast for the first time and then I reread it and I .... By now I know some of the scenes by heart.
I loved Singh's solution for the mating thing. (view spoiler)
I also enjoyed Walker's and Lara's story. The pack healer always seemed to be such a "nice" person and I think both of them have deserved the happy ending they got, especially after what Walker revealed about his past.
Did I mention that I love this book?
Great post, Karin! I agree and loved it too! Could I ask a favor? Would you mind putting spoiler tags around your post?
How to: <*spoiler> at the beginning and *spoiler> at the end (remove the * in each to make them work).
Thank you!! :D
Kiss of Snow SPOILERS ABOVE .... DON'T LOOK UP if you haven't read it yetNalini posted on her blog that Author Jess Granger recently started a #TheRatIsHot campaign on Twitter, in support of a story for Teijan. She even wrote a haiku to convince me. I thought you'd all enjoy reading it!
Ratby Jess Granger Stealthy in darkness, Your silent invasion each nightYou take what you want So, what are your views on Teijan?
I know someone else, maybe here?, had mentioned wanting Teijan to get his book. :D

I'm sorry about the spoiler thing - I couldn' wrap my head around the html - what ever that is - but promise: I'll try to do better!
I'm gonna print that and try it out!

I dunno. Bit hard to sex up a rat enough for a book. I guess maybe if he was a really big rat...with huge teeth and a really long, ratty tail and very sharp claws......
yeah, no. Rat. Raaaaat.
*shudder*

Thanks, Karin Elisabeth. Great job! :) And, I agree with your 2nd post too. It was great to see that. LMAO!! I agree, Moss. I'm not feelin' a rat HEA myself. But, I thought someone here mentioned liking him. Dunno, maybe I saw it somewhere else. As a guy, maybe he's ok, but dude .... a rat? Ick!
That is a troublesome category of shifter...for me, it kind of ranks down there with insect shifters..NOT something I particularly want to see or imagine *shudder*BUT, if someone could make a rat hot & sexy, Nalini might be the one to do it...
Nalini's "Psy/Changelings Behind the Scenes" page offers up Chronological list of the series, Behind the scenes, FAQ, Character list, Future books, Reader Videos and some stuff For Fun. (Please be aware some spoilers may exist if you aren't current w/the series; I haven't read the entire page, so I can't be sure)In her FAQ section she mentioned:
3. Is the series open ended or do you have a certain number of books planned?
I don't have the number of books planned but I do have the story arc planned. I know where this series is going, what final "end" I'm heading toward.
14. Do you intend to end the series after book 10?
Nope. I’ve got too many stories yet to tell!
And, she lists #11, Untitled, due in 2012. :D

Nalini posted 7 deleted scenes from Kiss of Snow on her website. :)(They start about 1/2 way down the page)
Sandra wrote: "They are also published in the back of the paperback edition."Oh...mine arrived, but haven't read it yet (read the e-book...looking forward to curling up with the PB under the kotatsu as the cold winter nights get closer and closer....) and didn't realize! What a nice surprise!
NOOOO!!! Read the Psy-series in order, Anomander or you will lose out on the amazing world-building that takes place over the series. I don't think you will be able to happenings as well (of course, that could be my series OCD speaking).
Ditto on the "NOOOOO!!!" (and it's not your OCD, Vi!) Some can be read out of order, but you won't "get" some of what's happening, or enough about the characters to enjoy it 100%....
Really, you have to go through the whole Hawke buildup over 10 books for you to really savor and enjoy Kiss of Snow. Dammit, I want the next book now!!!
Just read
the other day and loved it so much I had to splurge and buy the audiobook
- then listened to it! LOL!

Thanks, Anomander & Vi, for this asked and answered. That's what I was tempted to do. GTK.
LMAO!!! Now ya'll got me craving the next book again too. I really should do a re-read of this whole series. It's just so awesome. LOVE it! Glad you decided to heed the gals' advice, Anomander. Really is best read in order and you GOTTA looooong for the Hawke pairing, ya cannot just jump right into it. That's cheating. LOL! Enjoy the series!

@Steph, I like your reasons for a 5 star rating. But sorta ended up 4 1/2 start for me which is almost 5 star.
Re: Rissa (view spoiler)[Lisa, yep, it was downplayed which disappointed me especially since it was given so much importance in the previous books. And I wish she wouldn't do that mating-realization-when-near-death so often. I think this is the 3rd instance of it? (hide spoiler)]
Re: Nadiya (view spoiler)[ Yeah, I kept expecting something would happen. Maybe in the next book? They mention that Pure Psy don't know yet that she has been born. Found the page!
Right now, it was home to the leopard healer and her team, as well as the mate of the DarkRiver alpha, their child having been taken to safety by the evacuation team.
I also wonder at this sentence:
“Would you have your mate in a war zone, Teijan?”
“Yes,” he said without hesitation. “The alpha pair must always be part of a fight. Sascha’s safe in the bunker. Pure Psy has no idea it exists.”
Does that mean that Sascha is fighting (unlikely, then they will know about Nadiya)? Or will be seeing Sascha fight in the latter battles?
(hide spoiler)]
The next book is out only next year :( Damn.
