Personally, I prefer, one per month with a definite start date as opposed to reading it sometime during the month. That way we are all reading at about the same time, or at least within several days of each other and it is fresh in our minds to discuss.

The minimum time frame for me would be one per fortnight, but I prefer 3 weeks to a month.
