Task 10.10 requires that you include in your post which other group is reading the book you read. Please repost with this information. You only need to repost this task - the others in the post have already been included in your total points.

Thanks!

Sorry about that, not sure why I had that on my spreadsheet. It is changed now. And it is good to be back.

For task 20.6, you used A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian. The title doesn't have an "e" in it, so it wouldn't work for Emily or for Kate.

RACHEL CA post 990

for task 10.3, you used A Doll's House and Other Plays. Can you explain how this involves an "emancipation movement"?

From my memory of the play, and looking up some reviews, it doesn't seem to involve a group of people seeking to improve their status by some sort of movement, changing laws, revolution, etc., but rather one woman and her attempts to deal with her own status.

A Doll's House is generally regarded as the first feminist play. Nora's realization of inequality and reassessment of her role in not just marriage, but as a person, as well as Kristine Linde's clear-eyed view of her own role in life, ignited discussion on women's rights in its time, during the first wave of feminism. It was highly controversial, to the extent that it was banned in Britain, and Germany insisted on an alternative ending. Whether pioneers are considered as part of a movement or interested in only their own progress is a valid question. I thought that this play, and "A Lady from the Sea", for that matter, were "related to any emancipation movement", but if you disagree with me, that's all right. I'll post it under 5.2 THE PLAY MUST GO ON. Thanks for looking into it!

ADRIENNE post 1095

Task 15.4 requires that the two books have the same number of characters in the titles. The Last Talk with Lola Faye has 23 characters, and I Curse the River of Time has 20, so they don't work together for this task.

message 121: by Inez (new)

Inez Inez~

25.1 - Wendy MA's Task - And the Story Continues...
September, October, and November are the 9th, 10th and 11th months of the year. For this task, read two books (totaling to at least 400 pages) that are either the ninth, tenth, or eleventh books in a series. For example in the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child- One Shot is number 9, The Hard Way is number 10, and Bad Luck and Trouble is number 11. In the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris Dead and Gone is 9, Touch of Dead is 10, and Dead in the Family is 11. Books may be read in series order or by publication date. You do not have to read the same author for both books. Enjoy!!

For this task you need a total of 400 pages can you read 10,11 and 12 to total 400? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for taking on this huge task!

My readerboard total points is correct, but my Goodreads author list is missing the last 2 authors.
In Post 1054 I listed H.P. Mallory as a GR Author and in Post 1057 I listed Jaci Burton as a GR Author.

Thanks Sandy!

OOOh- my bad! Didn't notice at first that the GR Author list is not as far along as the readerboard total points list- Sorry to bother you Sandy!

Task 20.1 requires that you specify the issue of Bookmarks in which your book was reviewed.

Task 30.8 requires that you specify the months that these books were on the bestseller lists.

Please repost these tasks with this information.

BLUEMOON post 1132

Part B of Task 30.2 requires that the title contain a room inside a house. Your word for Part A (Tower) is fine, but I don't see any word in Part B that's the name of a room.

ETA - I saw your question and Sheila's answer, so I'll just work on the assumption that you're switching A and B! No need to repost.

When Tower had been approved I thought of Tower Room and did not notice that it was approved for outside instead of inside. I double cheked with Sheila and she approved it for inside also in the task help thread. So I used STONE for outside and TOWER for inside. If you need me to repost let me know and I will. BEV post 1277

Task 10.5 requires a book "with a significant character who is a religious leader/has a religious vocation." The book you've used seems from the descriptions to be more of a book about the author's personal faith. Is there a religious leader who plays a significant part in the book?

Thanks,

Hi Sandy,
My reasoning in choosing this book is that I consider writing, speaking & teaching on contemporary spirituality a religious vocation, which would make the author, Anne Lamott, the " significant character". In addition to her 3 books specifically on spirituality, she is in great demand as a speaker at Christian conferences. I checked the help thread before choosing the book, and saw that non-fiction was approved. I did not, however, take the time to ask if mine was ok, which I should definitely have done!! So, I'll be happy to pick something else - just let me know your final decision! :) Thanks!
