Anyone else watching it? I'm looking forward to Ep2.

I enjoyed it but those zombies are slow, Frater's zombies are better, they can run and at superhuman speeds, that's totally scarier. Andrew Lincoln was hilarious in Teachers and Jon Bernthal in The Class and Eastwick. They were good in this. I can't wait for them to meet up and they start feeling guilty about you know what.
I'm definitely watching the second episode tonight. I think I'm only 5 days behind you guys this time, yay!

Don't you find it strange though that she took off without even a note, could'a just said, "Had to run, hope you're alive" or somethin'! LOL!

LOL! That would've been the polite thing to do!
Looks like the reunion will be in ep 3. Can't wait! Anyone wondering whether you-know-what was going on before the zombie holocaust? I hope not. I also hope that condoms are readily available and are being used -that's all I'm saying. *zips mouth shut before spoilers spill out*

I know a note would've thrown off the whole 'gotta find my family' thing. But come on! LOL!
Looking forward to episode 3.

Also ... good to know that curly haired dude lied about hubby and she really didn't know. Was so glad they addressed that, but my hubby is still peeved that no one in the camp is saying anything about the two of them to her husband. I told him (my hubby) that I'm sure they have bigger things to deal with that getting involved in their romance dramas. LOL!

I don't think the peeps in the camp knew about them being together because they snuck off to do the deed. Otherwise wouldn't the son know? Or one of the other campers would've mentioned it to the wife, maybe?
"I'm sure that's where they'll all be heading now, ya think?"
Do you mean the country folk moving to the city folks' digs? I'm not sure. Even though the city is easier to defend, it'll be harder to survive there what with all the dead and the dwindling food resources. The electricity and running water aren't gonna last forever either.

Yeah, you're probably right. That'd be my guess too.
So, the latest episode proved that guess (of mine) wrong. Makes sense though, like you said, nothing to hollar about there besides add'l people. And that would just mean less food to go around, etc.
When the sister "woke up" ... creepy.
REALLY lovin' this show!

I'm so glad the grieving woman changed her mind as I didn't want the old man to die, I kinda like him.
But dude, the cop, he tried to rape the other cop's wife, WTH?! I know he was drunk but...and I liked him too :(

Me too! I kinda felt like she wouldn't let him die with her. Glad she didn't. Also glad he stayed and didn't let her die b/c of her depression over the loss of her sister. Thought it was good the CDC dude had someone to hold his hand in the end. Think he could'a warned them a bit sooner though? They could'a packed up supplies, food, etc and gotten the heck outta there b4 all the drama. Guess that wouldn't have been as suspenseful though, yah? :)
Right?! What an ass! He better get a grip and PDQ. The hubby is gonna eventually either find out or figure it out. Wonder how he'll handle it.

Hubby now seems to be alpha (alpha? Too many shifter books!) as the other guy is losing it big time.

Alpha - LOL! Yeah, he is and yes, seriously losing it!

1. One of the group is sick? Don't really think this is a possibility.
2. The zombie bug is going to go airborne? Don't really think this is it either, because Jenner admitted they still don't know what causes the zombies.
3. Maybe he told Rick about another possible survival outpost?
Guess we'll find out when the new season starts, when is that exactly? Anyone know.

I'm not sure what he would've whispered - good guesses though.
Here's a link to the WD Comic Con preview for S02. Only viewable in the US though, I think. Buggers. But, I'm sure it's out there on YouTube or such.

And I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually growing to respect Darryl. He came through more than a few times during the course of the episode.

Did you know George Romero turned down an opportunity to be apart of this show? http://io9.com/5851502/why-george-rom...

There's been a lot of talk about his potential in the series, since he is a brand new character and never existed in the print version.
Steph, do you get the "Talking Dead" follow-up show, too. It's a half hour show of interviews, polls and viewer questions. Just wondered.

Nope I don't get that. But, super happy we get the show. What's the TD about? Is it live? Any good tidbits to share with the class? :)

Some of the things they discuss are interesting, I don't feel like I'm wasting the half hour anyway.

Would you search? I think I probably would, at least for a while. My guilty conscience would kick me if I left w/out at least trying to find her/him.

So my husband and I are loving it, but some things are really bothering us as far as believability:
1. That nobody is building walls (see As the World Dies trilogy by Rhiannon Frater). How can they camp out and not think about barricades and walls?
2. The giving up of guns and then forcing everyone to sleep outside – silly.
3. Why stay at that farm (for the temporary duration or even want to for longer)? There are abandoned farms just adjacent to that farm. Darryl found one – go there, build a barricade and be safe.
4. The small trips to pharmacies and stores to pick up one item here and there, rather than stockpiling. (again see As the World Dies trilogy by Rhiannon Frater)
5. Lori not admitting to Rick that her and Shane were together and Shane not admitting it. Really, they thought he was dead. I would think at the end of the world Rick would be able to move passed any jealousy and anger and just be thankful that Shane kept them alive and well – and has stepped aside. my husband claims he would be able to put this aside. :)
6. Shane shooting Otis in the leg and not in the head. Really? I don’t think Shane would do this (create a more painful and messy death than necessary), but yeah it added more gore to the scene.
7. Oh and everyone sleeping outside of the huge farmhouse – what kind of person is Hershel that he doesn’t invite people to sleep inside or tell them about nearby abandoned farmhouses?
Sorry I just had to get that off my chest!

I absolutely agree re: the stockpiling and finding your own place. There are a thousand houses they could've camped out in for the time being. NO idea why they wouldn't. Esp, if they are liking the seclusion of the farmhouse, when there are others in the general vicinity. That's just stupid - tents vs. a secured house? Why?
My guess as to why they haven't created a walled in area, like Rhiannon's ATWD, they seem to want to travel in search of something. Or maybe someone. I don't know.
The back and forth for supplies is dumb too. Like you said, why risk multiple trips when you could take everything you needed or thought you might in one trip? Except if they are traveling on horseback, large supply runs would be harder, I guess.
Shane shooting Otis in the leg was definitely more for visual effect on the audience than anything else. Shooting him in the head would've allowed for the diversion without his suffering. But, where's the fun in that? LOL! I'm sure that will eventually come out.
I'm kinda bummed about the quality of the episodes this season. By that I mean the stuff that's happening. Each episode in S01 was an on-the-edge-of-your-seat kinda experience, whereas this season there is only one or two small things that really interest me. The rest of the show seems to be filler. I was thrilled they were making the season longer, but it seems they've done that by watering them down in a sense. Does that make sense?
I'm sure one of the people in the group will break Hershel's rules causing them to get the boot and force them to move on.
Do you think the pillow setup in the closet at the place Darrel searched was from the little girl? I wish they'd find her already - either alive or dead. How long are they gonna drag that out?

The zombies don't automatically go for the kill bite (more for dramatic impact, I'm sure), so we've never really seen what happens when the person they're attacking dies. Or at least, I've never noticed what happens.
As for me, when the zombie apocalypse, or any other apocalypse, happens, you can look me up at the nearest bookstore or library, whichever has less windows and a sturdier foundation. ;D

The pillow set up does look perfect for a small person or a young child, but I have no idea. My husband thought it would be physically impossible for a small child to get that far out of sight from adults, especially those men in good condition and used to being in the woods. If the writers have thought about this - then maybe she is with another adult? Has anyone on this thread read the comic book series it is based on? I checked out wiki and it seemed kinda different in terms of characters. And Steph, I think you are right about the gun and Hershel.
Daffodil, I think a human shot in the head seconds ago would still be considered delectable by a zombie. ;) I will be heading to my parents, their basement is stocked with so much darned food and they have their own private well. :)

Nope, not alone, Regina. Yeah, I'm surprised we haven't seen the little girl yet. I would'a thought Darrel would've found her last episode.
Do the episodes feel a bit more watered down than season 1? It's almost like they are spacing out the good stuff since they extended the # of eps this season.

With Glenn's discovery at the end of the most recent episode and Maggie's previous reaction to the well-walker's death, I think it's safe to say we know why Herschel has forbidden guns on his property. I agree the action has been a little mild so far, but the farm surprise is sure to change things drastically.
Also, it hasn't been all bad. The continual action of the first season made Rick and family the main drive and focus. The slower pacing this year has allowed for more character highlights. A more even balance of those two points would be nice, but the chance to get to know Daryl Dixon better and have moments like the Cherokee Rose dialogue almost makes up for that failing. ;D
