Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments I did! I agree with the comment re Beth.

I loved the retrospection of the characters on who they have become and all.

But man, I want something to move the story along.

P.S. Love (pslove) | 12 comments I almost passed this series by. My husband and I watch these through Netflix, so when my nephew recommended this series, we gave it a shot. Well, the first episode almost put us to sleep, lol. If I remember correctly, it was where the two cops were sitting in the car jabbing away about their personal life. We stopped the video and went on to watch another movie.

After I told my nephew that we just couldn't get into that first episode, he told us to give it a chance because it gets better.

Well, we did as he suggested, and dagnabbit, we got hooked. We ended up watching all the seasons that were available, and now waiting on the next (which will always be a year behind because it takes about a year for Netflix to offer them.

I refuse to click on your guys' spoilers! =P (* me closes me eyes and leaves this thread before curiosity gets the better of me *)

Steph (angel4492) | 32734 comments Yes, yes, avoid the spoilers, P.S.! :D

message 268: by Marla (new)

Marla | 261 comments I'm jealous P.S., I don't think Walking Dead is better once you've seen them. They aren't one of those shows that you can watch over and over in reruns IMO. So I'm jealous at you watching it for the first time!

Definitely avoid those spoilers!

message 269: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32734 comments I don't mind watching some seasons/episodes again. There are those I dread (ex (view spoiler)).

message 270: by P.S. (last edited Feb 24, 2015 03:58PM) (new)

P.S. Love (pslove) | 12 comments Believe me, Steph and Marla, I am doing my darndest to avoid them. I'll throw holy water on the screen before clicking on the links =P

The only time we go back to watch a previous episode is normally after having to wait a year for the next season. With 'Being Human' we couldn't remember a few things so we had to watch the last episode in the previous season to refresh our memories.

Thank goodness that series is streamed, and so is 'Walking Dead,' so we can do that, but we just got the first disk of Season 4 of 'Game of Thrones' and dang, we can't do that with them DVDs =(

Now I can see why some people won't read a series unless all the books are out--the wait can be torturous, not to mention you forget stuff, lol

message 271: by Marla (new)

Marla | 261 comments Steph, it would be a blast to watch TWD with you!!! (view spoiler)

P.S., I often will read one book then if I really like it, I will wait until several are out in the series before I read on.

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 2098 comments There are quite a few differences between the series and the comics. Biggest one: Daryl Dixon is a totally new character for TV and doesn't exist in print. Thankfully we don't have to live in a Daryl deprived world. LOL.

Other differences: (view spoiler)

message 276: by P.S. (new)

P.S. Love (pslove) | 12 comments I can't even imagine this series without Daryl. He's one of our favorite characters. I don't believe he's ever irritated us, lol. Rick has been irritating a few times, especially when he went all weird-like. I was yelling out loud, 'Snap out of it already!'

If I was a character and had to choose between Rick and Daryl to follow, I'd be sticking with Daryl. And I'd hope to heck that Michonne came with us =D

Steph (angel4492) | 32734 comments Anyone hear about TWD Spinoff/Prequel show "Fear the Walking Dead" to air sometime in 2015?

IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3743822/

EW reports, Robert Kirkman says 'Walking Dead' spinoff will be 'startlingly different' .
“I will say that this is going to be a show about family,” says Kirkman. “But it’s going to be a show about a different type of family that we haven’t explored in The Walking Dead thus far. So what we’re trying to do with The Walking Dead spinoff is keep the story as familiar as possible for people that love The Walking Dead, so you’ll get the kind of things that you expect from a Walking Dead story. But, at the same time, we’ll want to tell these stories in a completely different way with completely different people in a completely different setting that’s going to make for a fundamentally different show. I think the look and feel of The Walking Dead spinoff is going to be startlingly different.”

Kirkman also confirms that no characters from the original comic book will appear on the new show...

But, another article noted, "according to executive producer Gale Ann Hurd, the show finished shooting its pilot on Friday but hasn't yet been picked up to series. So, we'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

Carol was ultra creepy. Did anyone notice that Rick was standing on Morgan Street at the end?
That little peck on the cheek was a lot more than a little peck on the cheek. For a moment it looked as if Rick had the "take what's mine apocalypse mentality" when looking at her in the end. I think Sasha's been "zombieized" (kind of like institutionalized) and is losing it, like a caged animal. It's maybe good that she's so wound up and not getting too comfortable, that may help them whenever whatever goes worng

Marla | 261 comments My initial response would be failure for a Walking Dead spinoff, but after reading the premise, it might be interesting. I guess we'll see.

I am emotionally invested in some of the characters on the current show, namely Darryl, Michonne and Glen and I like Carol and Carl, so we'll see if the new characters can inspire that kind of loyalty.

The schools is no longer in service, so they rent the property out for other uses. In this case, for people to walk miles and get fit. But you know that's not where my mind went first.
