I can't remember though if he and Darryl ever interacted in that episode where Rick came across him with that booby trapped hideout in a small town.

My evil side insists that I note how bored I was with the artsy episode. A WHOLE episode for his death? We only have EIGHT and I felt a bit gypped. Damn, Beth only got a 10-second death. Ok, my be-nice side insists I admit it was a well-done, trippy death sequence and it was nice to see some of our previously lost characters. But, damn! (hide spoiler)]

I was annoyed that Maggie and Beth didn't worry and miss each other. Besides, Michonne, I am just not a fan of the females on the show. They are either damsels in distress or whiners. Andrea wasn't bad until they were ready to kill her off.

I see a trend, I was getting tired of poor Tyreese being depressed, but I did not expect them to kill him off. But when a character starts getting annoying, the end might be near. [Except Rick, we just have to put up with him when he goes through an annoying phase. But though he's the "main character," he is not my favorite.]

It was kind of a strange episode, but I did like seeing the girls and Bob. I wish his dead girlfriend had shown up for him.

So...why is the minister still with us? He's soooo annoying. I'm sorry, you cannot be compassionate about not taking an undead life, you just look like a coward.

Could be. I didn't picture him lasting much longer with him trying to be "honorable" with his kills. Glenn's goin' down a dark road, seems like. He's on the kill-them-all boat right now, which could be an interesting change in character for him. Wonder how Maggie's feeling after losing Beth, the people-buffet, etc.

And, I finally watched the Talking Dead (do watch those?) and they mentioned the torsos with the W carved onto their foreheads. Supposedly those killings were done by "a bad group" and it'll be "a mystery that will unfold throughout the season". Double Ugh! I know they have to have interactions with others, but I really hate it when others monopolize the time the show could be spent on the mains. Wahhhhh! I almost passed this series by. My husband and I watch these through Netflix, so when my nephew recommended this series, we gave it a shot. Well, the first episode almost put us to sleep, lol. If I remember correctly, it was where the two cops were sitting in the car jabbing away about their personal life. We stopped the video and went on to watch another movie.

After I told my nephew that we just couldn't get into that first episode, he told us to give it a chance because it gets better.

Well, we did as he suggested, and dagnabbit, we got hooked. We ended up watching all the seasons that were available, and now waiting on the next (which will always be a year behind because it takes about a year for Netflix to offer them.

The only time we go back to watch a previous episode is normally after having to wait a year for the next season. With 'Being Human' we couldn't remember a few things so we had to watch the last episode in the previous season to refresh our memories.

Thank goodness that series is streamed, and so is 'Walking Dead,' so we can do that, but we just got the first disk of Season 4 of 'Game of Thrones' and dang, we can't do that with them DVDs =(

Now I can see why some people won't read a series unless all the books are out--the wait can be torturous, not to mention you forget stuff, lol

A few thoughts on the mid-season premiere and misc.

(view spoiler)[It was an interesting episode, but not nearly satisfying after the heartbreak that ended the first half of the season. It's been a while since Karen was killed, so maybe the actress who played Tyreese's girlfriend had a prior commitment. Or maybe the producer's felt that death was older and wouldn't impact the audience as much as the other characters they brought back?

So I had a random thought. Father Gabriel injured himself by stepping on nail I believe. (It could have been a long wooden splinter, but it really looked like a nail to me.) Has he had his Tetanus shot? And what happens when someone dies of Tetanus? Does the lockjaw disappear with rigor or is the zombie permanently unable to bite? I know, I know. Weird question, but odd thoughts occur to me all the time and this is one I had to share. LOL. (hide spoiler)]

LOL! I hear ya on the odd thoughts that occur throughout the show. We're (hubby & I) are like that too. I think he stepped on a nail. Any ideas on how long symptoms of Tetanus take to appear? If he (or anyone) dies they come back as walkers b/c they're all infected. So, I guess, if he had symptoms and died b/c of Tetanus, he'd be unable to chomp.

There are quite a few differences between the series and the comics. Biggest one: Daryl Dixon is a totally new character for TV and doesn't exist in print. Thankfully we don't have to live in a Daryl deprived world. LOL.

Latest episode: Trust or don't trust? (view spoiler)[My husband thinks the place is run by the women and I think they are using the men as breeding studs. They had to turn out 3 men who didn't fit in.

And I think the taped interview is for creepy match.com hookups. As in I want to procreate with him. I think there are no babies because no one is sanctioned to reproduce in their closed breeding stock community. Did you notice there was only the one strong straight man? And did his wife act married to you when she saw Rick au natural plus towel.

I think they might also need Rick and Michonne's security talent if they are letting outsiders in while they are looking for breeding stock.

Carol rocks! She fits right in as the PTA mom. Love how she mourns Ed to tell us viewers what a scam she's pulling. So smart and so easily underestimated.

Sounds like you and your hubby could be onto something there. It would make a lot of sense considering what we've seen, as you mentioned. Those videos didn't seem to us to be "a show of transparency" - wasn't sure what to make of them, but your idea fits well. Oh, she definitely didn't act married. And, as soon as her "husband" chatted up Rick, I thought, "He's gonna die soon." LOL!

I was asking my husband why he thought they'd need security when they had high ass walls. What risks do they face, if everything is as she lead him to be. Other than their pathetic scouting missions, they'd never have any problems - at least you'd think not. And, I liked how Rick was questioning why they'd put two newbies in charge of everyone's safety - something's up there. Oh, and, I loved it when he said they'd just take over the place if things went bad. LOL! I was totally thinking that earlier - they could take them (or at least those we've seen so far) - no problem.

Who do you think took Rick's hidden gun? One of the three men "turned out" or one of the mysterious group that hacked those earlier walkers in half? Or maybe the girl that Carl is sweet on? Wonder what her story is.

LOVED Carol's play to spy in the open. Classic Carol! I knew something was up with her when she smiled so sweetly as they were turning over their guns. That is weird, I trust Rick and Michonne, but they are strangers and why would you put them in charge of security. Unless you want them to feel safe and in charge. But if they were bad guys, arming them and putting them in charge of security would be very stupid. Would you want Shane (at the end) in charge of your security? He was a deputy too...and I think not.

We think that Carl's girl is the one who took the gun. But that walker wasn't there when Rick hid it, so maybe one of those other 3 men saw him, snagged it and left him a trap. Hmmm...

Did we even see the preacher in this last episode? Eugene has been a non-entity lately too.

Finally watched Sunday's episode last night.

(view spoiler)[ Did anyone else notice someone standing in the window of one of the houses right outside the gates? The group is entering Alexandria, Carl looks behind him and sees someone in the window just as Michonne (I think it was Michonne, but could be remembering wrong) walks between him and the house, after she passes he/she is gone.

It could be one of the exiled Alexandrites, it could be another group spying or wanting to take over. But if they are watching the settlement, then they may have seen Rick hide his gun and decided they wanted it themselves.

I also wondered if the girl has a connection to someone on the outside. She disappeared when Carl was following her and I thought she possibly could be a spy.

The congresswoman must know they are inadequate to protect themselves. I would be interested to know exactly why those three were exiled and what damage they might have done before leaving. She's been safe behind walls this whole time and might see Rick's group as the warriors they need to protect Alexandria from walkers/roamers and scavengers. I'm not ready to commit to trusting her, but I can see where she might be able to assess the group and decide they are what her people need to survive.

She also has to fear for her son every time he leaves the walls to hunt for supplies. And she has to realize on some level that he's taking dangerous chances. He did lose two members on one of those runs. So maybe she was thanking Glen for doing what she was unable to do, taking him down a peg now, hoping Glen will be able to get through to him. I don't know, I'm not a mother, so I can't be sure I was reading her correctly.

Even before Rick said it on the porch, I thought the group has probably passed a point of no return. They've seen and lived through so much violence, they'll never really be able to let down their guards. I can't ever see them going soft. I really think Rick and Carl needed the fight with the zombies. I didn't see it as a way for them to stay sharp, more as a way to give the violence in themselves an outlet. I remember last season, after fighting the claimers, Rick basically told Darryl that the violence is a part of him and there's nothing that will change that. And outside Terminus, Carl told Michonne that he wasn't afraid of his dad, he was afraid that his dad would realize he had a dark side to him just Rick. (hide spoiler)]

I wish they would do an episode of what they were before cuz I've always been curious of who and what they were prior to the zombie apocalypse. We know Rick's day when he was shot on duty and saw Michonne's brother, boyfriend & was there a child?

That little peck on the cheek was a lot more than a little peck on the cheek. For a moment it looked as if Rick had the "take what's mine apocalypse mentality" when looking at her in the end. I think Sasha's been "zombieized" (kind of like institutionalized) and is losing it, like a caged animal. It's maybe good that she's so wound up and not getting too comfortable, that may help them whenever whatever goes worng

My initial response would be failure for a Walking Dead spinoff, but after reading the premise, it might be interesting. I guess we'll see.

I am emotionally invested in some of the characters on the current show, namely Darryl, Michonne and Glen and I like Carol and Carl, so we'll see if the new characters can inspire that kind of loyalty.

And the gang is taking over all these leadership roles, but not really by insinuating themselves, but because the community people are incompetent. But will the Senator understand the reality or decide against the gang. I can see Deanna becoming irrational when she finds out that Aiden died.

I knew that Aiden and the other guy let their team die. People are going to blame Glen and the gang for the fatalities.

Can we just shoot Gabriel?! And I don't understand what is going on with Jessie's husband, Pete. Why does he want to examine everyone? To see if their sterile?

I was really sad about Noah and I felt bad for Glenn too, but YAY Eugene!

My guess is that Carl is gonna try to hookup with mystery girl, then find out she's a spy and his wittle heart will be broken. (I'm so mean, but damn it, Carl! Stay in the f*ckin' house! LOL! Yes, I know that was eons ago, but the boy still bugs me no matter how tall he's gotten.)

I'm not sure about the relationship between Daryl and Aaron. I kinda want to believe he's just being nice and letting Daryl know that he's not the only "once an outsider" in Alexandria. But ... I just don't trust anyone.

Noah's death scene was wicked gory goodness. Guess I'm sorry to see him go, but ultimately I'm glad there are still "others" in the group that can be killed off without messin' with the mains. I DO NOT want to think about a time when one of them dies. Nope. Won't do it. They'll live forever. :D

I am glad he stuck up to running man (Deanna's son's douche friend) though. I was just waiting for him to tuck tail, scoot over and let that ass drive off. Glad I was wrong.

Abraham is having PTSD. Boohoo. (side note: I'm a USMC spouse, so I do not make light of PTSD IRL. I'm simply uninterested in whatever Abraham is stressing over.) He can go too. I just don't like anyone in that group. Just move into another house with his GF and buzz off. But ... speaking of the Ginger, him taking over the construction crew felt off to me too. Not him taking over, but the whole speech by the "foreman" with Deanna and hubby. They were chatting in front of Maggie, he was praising Abraham's leadership skills, etc and the whole time I'm thinking this is a play. But, a play to what?

Tellin' ya, there's more to this picturesque neighborhood than we're not seeing. I know, of course there is, we all know it. And, my "only two episodes left" pre-frustration mode has started to kick in. I love this show, don't get me wrong, but the episodes/seasons are too damn short! So many times early episodes will be slow as shit, nothing happening, then BAM! season finale is quickly approaching, time to throw it all out there and leave them hanging until next year. Grrrr! I was hoping that they would leave the running man behind, but I was glad that Glen hasn't become that cold...yet. Though the leftover is badly injured, maybe she'll still die of her injuries...I can hope :D

Noah wasn't even in my top 3 to die list. Bummer. FYI - Gabriel, leftover from gov & Pete, Jessie's abusive hubby.

I think Aaron is crushing on Daryl, but please don't let Daryl be gay...I don't think I could take him making out with a guy. But a girl...yes, please. Beth was too wimpy for him, let's find Daryl a girl! It's not right that Carl finds love before Daryl! But Daryl didn't hook up with Carol or Beth...hmmm...please, NO!!

I do NOT trust Rick's new crush. And since Shane did it to him, I am disappointed that Rick is thinking what he's thinking. But I'm thinking her husband, Pete, isn't long for this world, but having a doctor around is so useful!

So have we met all the villagers of Alexandria? How many people are living there? How do they feed them all?

I feel kind of bad that the gang is going to overrun the villagers and usurp their gated community. But I don't understand how these people have survived this long, since they seem so ill prepared to survive in this new horrible world. How have they remained so naive even within their walls?

But, thankfully, the gang dragged running man's ass back with them and hopefully he'll do the right thing and tell her how he died. Now, whether or not he'll fess up to running away and causing the death of Noah, not convinced he will. But, I think if she's who she's presenting herself to be, she'll listen to what the gang has to say and side with them, while still knowing they're dangerous. How could she not. I don't know if she'll realize quickly enough how dangerous they can be though.

LOL! Yeah, we can hope. Agreed. I was nice to finally see Eugene do something proactive. We'll see how long it lasts.

Could be he has feelings for Daryl. I don't know though. Look at his boyfriend - he's nothing like Daryl, quite the opposite actually. If his BF is his "type", then I think it's just a friend thing. If not, look out, Daryl. LOL! As much as I love a good gay love story, I don't want Daryl to be gay either.

Ditto! I'm surprised the people of Alexandria have made it as long as they have. They don't seem (seem being the operative word) to have any real knowledge of how bad it is outside the walls, if Deanna's son was any indication. As much as I think our gang wanted to make a home in Alexandria, what were the chances of that really happening? Thinking back to Hershel's farm, they included those from the farm in scavenging, weapon's training, and actively tried to build a life there. They sucked at it, IMO, but still. Then, you look at their time so far in Alexandria, they've not sat down with anyone, Deanna included, to really discuss what's happening outside of the walls. Well, except for those bizarre taped sessions. Noah was talking with D's husband about building, but besides that our gang has only really done what Deanna's asked. Be in charge of security, building crew ... odd, yah?

It feels odd. All of it. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop. They have an armory, but no one other than dead son and his buddies use a gun? Really? Were all those weapons stored there by those who created this self-sustaining utopia town? Stored, but no one was trained? Everyone, pre-Rick's gang, was sitting inside the walls carrying on as if it was pre-apocalypse with an occasional moan on the other side of the walls? Nope. Something BIG is off with this group.
