Yeah, Andrea has been frustrating this season. But, I get how she'd wanna have something quazi normal in her life. Carl, your ass is grounded! Go to your cell and don't come out until I tell you! Seriously, WTH? Boy's losing his everlovin' mind. Dad better get a handle on that and PDQ or else he needs to sleep with one eye open. Buuuut, he (Carl) did have a point - some of the people he/Rick have let live have come back to bite them in the ass. Pun intended. ;)

WHY oh WHY didn't they kill the Governor and his crew before they fled the prison? Really? They all got away? You had machine guns, caught them off guard and not a one killed? Not believable, IMO. But, the Gov took care of that with his roadside breakdown.

Now the gang is responsible for all the residents of Woodbury? Why didn't they just stay in Woodbury and defend it from the Gov and those two dudes? Those two probably would'a welcomed a chance to bail on He Who Has Finally Lost It but hard. Nicer accommodations than the prison, yah? Just seemed odd to transport them all from the town to the prison. (hide spoiler)]

I was fine to see Andrea go, especially after she talked to Milton instead of concentrating on getting loose! I was yelling at the TV! I did feel bad for Michonne over Andrea and I LOVED that she didn't have any hard feelings about Mel trying to turn her in. I like her!

LOL about Carl. I'm sorry, but the guy didn't drop his gun right away, if he had I would've been "bad, Carl." But bad things have happened with prisoners in the past...but then all of Woodbury showed up and it looks a little bad that Carl killed that guy. My hubby says that they were covering the flank and they should've just shot him right away and not been talking a surrender at all. (If the zombies come, I want to be on my hubby's team. Smart, and no mercy. I'm a wimp.)

The roadside massacre was a quick trip to crazy town. I'm glad that Karen (?) survived to verify their story about the executions. Otherwise, who would believe them?! I LOVE how the guys get into the Governor's truck after that...no, you go ahead and sit in the front with him...

I figure the prison is more secure than Woodbury, especially with less trained personnel. How are they going to feed all these people? I thought they were going to have to go on the move...did anyone notice there was another baby? Please tell me that the new baby doesn't die next season...that would be awful! Can you say zombie baby? Any bets...

I was disappointed by the finale. They spent the entire season touting out this huge, all out war (view spoiler)[who just turned out to be Glen & Maggie fending off all the residents. I swear there were more than 15 people in Woodbury lol. (hide spoiler)]

I felt a bit sad about Andrea's demise. She just had so much more potential than meeting Michonne, becoming the Governor's bitch and ultimately not doing anything to redeem herself. That's what she gets for siding with the Governor and not taking the chance to kill him, but the best thing she ever did for the group was to bring Michonne into it.

I think the thing about Carl shooting the guy was an overreaction. I mean Rick and all the adults have shot at guys they didn't even know; how about that guy running after them on the road wanting to get saved, and when they just left him, he turned into a walker? He's just mirroring what his dad has taught him, plus he has more balls for making sure it doesn't come back to bite him.

I expected a cliffhanger with the Governor appearing at the prison, or at least something more significant. Wish the Governor's right hand men shot him when they saw the chance, that was really tragic. Finally, Tyreese gets to join the crew at long last. (hide spoiler)]

Overall, it was a great season and I enjoyed it, was just let down by the finale. And come on, last season's finale was awesome.

(view spoiler)[There were definitely more people in Woodbury than those that made it to the prison. But, I'm wondering if some people stayed behind. Ya know, the dumb ones, who believe the Gov's BSin'.

How will they feed them all? My question exactly! They're gonna have a rude awakening when they realize there will be no more backyard BBQs and walker fights. LOL! I did see the add'l baby. Craziness.

I was sure they were packin' up to flee the prison. City - S1, Farm - S2, Prison - S3. S4 needs a change of scenery, IMO. Plus, it's not as secure as it could be. They still have walkers throughout certain sections and now with more people they'll have to refortify. But, it has what they need to do that easy enough, I guess.

Michonne is kick-ass and the fact that it took Rick so long to realize that pissed me off. He lost some serious leader points in my book when he questioned her loyalty and abilities. I've no doubt she could take him in a fight and whoop his butt no problemo.

Oooooh, we didn't mention Merle's death scene the episode before. CYA! That about sums up my thoughts on that ass. Yeah, yeah, so he released Michonne and tried to take out as many of the Gov's men as he could to give D and the gang a better chance. But, too little too late for me. I did feel badly for D, but I'd like to think the fact that he was the one who "got to" kill Merle made it easier to reach closure and move past his death. If someone else had come to him and said, "Hey man, sorry to tell ya, but your brother was a walker chompin' on the Gov's men so I killed him", he probably would'a had a harder time with it. Ya think? ;)

Carl's been a mess from the start. One season the boy can't be found, won't keep his ass in the house as he's told and another he's Quick Draw McGraw with his homemade silencer. LOL! Though I guess it's due to growing up in zombieland and post-mama-killer mode. (hide spoiler)]

Definitely remains one of my favorite must-see shows and I'm anxious for next season.

I do think that the Woodbury folks are going to whine when they discover the conditions at the prison are so stark and primitive compared to what they are used to in their quaint Woodbury oasis with multiple vehicles with seemingly endless gas, loads of ammunition and even entertainment, oh and let us not forget the zombie pits and torture chamber.

I noticed the change of locale each season too, but don't forget the CDC. That was one of my favorite story lines. Remember the video of the doctor's wife's turning...that was awesome. They blew that place to kingdom come in order to evict the gang from there.

Yes, Merle's 2 deaths were one of the highlights this season IMO. You are absolutely right, I think it had to be Darryl finding and killing him. I kind of think that Merle did some to redeem himself, not enough, but I'm sure they are happy that he is no longer an issue and he did go out in style trying to help the gang. As Darryl said, he'd never done anything like that before in his life...even before the zombies? He must have been a real joy to be around.

@Jeann, you are right about the "hitchhiker" and how cold the adults were. That was another stellar moment this season, I think.

Does anyone watch Talking Dead? We never used to, but I do LOVE the death toll and the fun facts.

On a "serious note," on Talking Dead they said that fans of Walking Dead are getting desensitized to the violence and scenes that would make us cringe or jump no longer have the same impact. I think they may have a point, at least with my family and myself...

Only since moving back to the states have we been able to watch The Talking Dead. We've caught a few of them and we've enjoyed them, for the most post. Sometimes I love the intensity of the host and other times he annoys me. Must be my mood at the time we watch. LOL!

I was watching the final episode of The Talking Dead last night and finally realized where else I know Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) from. He mentioned Boondock Saints and I was immediately "Aha, that's it!" Strangely, I did the same thing with Jonny Lee Miller of Elementary and Hackers on Saturday or Sunday. I guess it's a week for revelations.

Speaking of Daryl, has anyone else seen the Time Warner Cable commercial for the Walking Dead. Here it is.

My hubby didn't like last night's episode, I think there wasn't enough death and destruction and too much drama and feelings.

I was surprised at who killed the 2 burnt people and I agree with the reason. But I doubt Tyreese is going to leave it alone. Does Rick tell Tyreese who did it? I was very worried about Tyreese last night.

I can see why the doc went in. I think if I were a doctor and knew they were out hunting for meds, I would have done the same. I would not have rubbed the blood dying doc coughed on my face around my eyes, nose and mouth OR removed the (granted weak) barrier in hopes it would've kept me healthy for a bit longer.

We ran the sync once when we first got back in the states. We rarely watch the show IRT. Hubby likes to start watching once it's at least 20 mins in so we can f/frwd through commercials.

Yes, we've talked about watching delayed so we can fast forward through the commercials, but my hubby and daughter can't bear to not watch. My daughter in college texts me during the episode and my younger daughter skypes with her boyfriend. LOL Some family watch wholesome shows, we are kinda a Walking Dead, Criminal Minds, Grimm kind of family.

Robert Kirkman, the writer, was on Talking Dead and he said that they try to give all important characters memorable deaths to honor them.

Totally agree - the Gov would've never accepted Rick's plea to live together at the prison, but good speech. As soon as I saw Hershel's smile, I knew he was about to die. I don't think Judith was eaten or taken by zombies. I think someone with bloody hands picked her up outta the carrier and took her with them.

I kinda expected the Gov to die this ep, so I wasn't too surprised when Meghan was killed by a walker. Thought maybe her and momma too, but I guess Lilly end up with the prison gang in 2nd half.

I think Lilly shot the Gov b/c he shot her daughter, even though it wasn't his fault she was devastated by what he did. Not only that but she'd been telling him that they could live and survive without taking the prison. If he hadn't gone after the prison, they wouldn't have been by the river and her daughter may still be alive.

I was glad Michonne got the honor of stabbing the Gov. Would've liked it if she'd killed him. I was thinking, before Lilly shot him, that if Michonne left him like that he'd probably find someway to survive and come back in the 2nd half. Glad that's not the case and he's gone. (hide spoiler)]

I loved it! i was great the best mid-season finale!

Deaths:(view spoiler)[I was shocked by Hershel's death! I love David Morrisey, he is such a great actor and seems like such a sweet and nice guy BUT when he chopped hershel's head off, i couldn't wait for someone to kill him!
As for who got those honors, in the comic book Lily kills the governor but Kirkman said that they wanted to please everyone so that's why Rick got a few punches in followed by Michonne with the sword and Lily finished him off because if it wasn't for him wanting to leave their original camp and then being pigheaded about wanting the prison, meghan might have not died plus he callously shot her (meghan, even though he had to) in front of her mother...perfect endings i thought. Though, i am still ticked about Hershel! I don't think Judith is dead, anyone who might have gotten shot could have picked her up (any of the survivors that is) (hide spoiler)]

My brother, who loves cookbooks, is a big fan of TWD also and I found the perfect thing for him last night while browsing through the bookstore for that last minute extra.



I only had time to flip through it, but it looks neat. I'm debating tracking down another copy for myself.

Mid-season marathon starts at 1PM today in prep for the show's return Sunday night. We were gonna watch um, but remembered how frustrating some of the episodes were, so we're passing. But, definitely looking forward to its return.
