I couldn't believe the end of the last episode (view spoiler)[ they wasted all that time searching for her and she was in the frickin' barn! Hershel could've said something. He knew all along. I'm glad the right person shot her. Now he's truly the leader. (hide spoiler)]

Very good point about (view spoiler)[Rick being the true leader now. I really wanted Shane and Rick to have a confrontation about the past. The search did one thing, it showed the true soul of Shane and Darryl. (hide spoiler)]

Darryl's grown quite a bit. I like him a lot now. I wanted Shane and Rick to have it out as well.

I feel sorry for Shane. (view spoiler)[This may sound heartless but I kind of felt he was right about the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few. Searching for Sophia was dangerous and their group is getting ever smaller. If not for Hershel's hospitality would they really have spent so much time looking for Sophia?

And the baby. Lori was a bit mean about it. It doesn't matter if it's his or not. It's everyone's baby now because everyone is responsible for everyone else in their group. They're like an alternative family.

Shane then gets kicked again for his booty call with Andrea. Cut the guy some slack he's had a rough time of it! (hide spoiler)]

Me too, Regina. Shane is becoming more and more unglued, IMO. Still, makes for good TV.

LOL Ames! Yeah, you make good points about Shane. I'm sure the (view spoiler)[loss of Lori and the kid have been hard on him. Not to mention his differing views with Rick on what's best for the group --- that he was "leading" before Rick "awoke".

I definitely agree about the baby. The "it takes a village" saying is definitely accurate when in that kind of environment.

I felt like Rick stepped up to shoot her because it was "his fault" she got bit. Although, if I'd been in his situation (when he told her to hide), I would've done the same. Why she didn't stay baffled me, think she'd know better at that point not to wander off alone. But, who knows.

Yeah, I can't figure out Hershel.

Did it sound like she moaned, "Riiiiiick" right before he shot her? LOL! Maybe it was my imagination, but I swear I heard that. (hide spoiler)]

Steph, I had the some thought as to why the person who stepped up and took care of business did so. I am guessing it had several meanings.

Ames, good point about Shane. It is hard with TV, b/c the writers change what they want to do with characters from episode to episode and season to season. But I have always liked Shane. I don't think what happened between Lori and Shane was bad and if I were Rick, I would be grateful that my wife got out safe. You are right, it is an alternative family and an new world, old style relationships don't make sense right now. So it seems like there should be a way to defuse the tension and go forward, but of course that is not good tv. :)

Who watched the mid-season premiere? What'd ya think?
(view spoiler)[Stupid woman! What was she (forgot her name) thinkin' drivin' off without tellin' anyone. Not to mention not knowin' where she was goin'. That was just dumb.

Again, I couldn't help but complain that the group -and the two strangers in the bar- should go find their own farmhouse to live in. There's bound to be a dozen others nearby.

Hamish's reaction kinda frustrated me. Didn't seem to fit his previous fatherly protection of the "kids" on the farm. But, he did just get shocked into realizing that walkers (his wife & daughter) really are dead and no cure is comin'. What do you think? (hide spoiler)]

I've seen it, I thought it was a rather good follow-up to the mid-season bang.

(view spoiler)[This is where we see that Rick will do anything it takes to keep his wife and friends safe. Those strangers seemed a little dodgy so you can't really blame him for what he did. Especially now that the stakes are higher now that Lori is pregnant.

I agreed with the frustration when it came to Hamish, hearing how that girl was suffering really did nothing to jolt his movement. Also it really was annoying how it was his fault that those strangers stumbled upon him. If Rick wasn't there he may have been a goner!

Andrea is my favourite character in the comics and I like how she's getting down and dirty digging graves with the boys. Wonder how long they'll stay at the farm before they all decide to move on, I predict perhaps a zombie attack that pushes them forward or something or rather. There's just not enough zombie killings at the farm at the moment. (hide spoiler)]

Steph I completely completely agree! I just watched it while jogging and I loved this episode. But (view spoiler)[ Lori is always complaining (rightfully so) that Rick is going off and leaving Carl, so she does the same thing? I didn't understand the urgency, they already went to get him?!!! Do you think Darryl will save her? (hide spoiler)]

I also agree about -- hey go find your farm house, or hey what about suggesting -- find one of your own? These writers need to read Rhiannon Frater's series, lol! There are so many important resources in each of the homes and in the town, they should be building walls and staying in buildings! So crazy and so much wasted effort. There has to be hunting stores in the area where they need supplies? I think we would survive the zombie apoc much better!

Jeann, I agree about what it showed about Rick. And I love Andrea too. The arm thing was funny but gross.

Dunno, but it might be a good time for him and Andrea to take off on their own. Though I really would rather they all stick together if only b/c splitting the show's time between more than one group might be less enjoyable.

Something needs to happen to shake things up though. I agree that it seems like they've had it pretty safe for a while. I kept expecting something to happen to Andrea ... I just watched this last night. I also had the exact same thought about the truck ride with Andrea in back! So silly! I do enjoy it, even though I have issues, I really like it.

I agree that is what Lori is doing and from the previews it appears that something along those lines will happen. I would also prefer what you do.

I really like it too. I grumble about stuff here and there, but overall, it really is a good zombie show. I'm ready for some more tension and holy $hit moments though. They haven't really feared for their lives in a while ... time for some more walkers. LOL!

(view spoiler)[ Of course, I'm not really counting the scene in the alley with the stranger "stuck on" the gate. I would'a done what Rick did, just 10x sooner. Walkers are coming from all sides, you wanna live and leave with us then I'm rippin' your leg off'a here. LOL!

The one thing that scene did do for me was make me realize just how much more I would fear being shot at by some jackoff with a gun than I would those walkers coming towards me. Least with the walkers you see where they're going and have a chance to take them out. A gunman can hide and POW! you're dead before you had a chance to react. (hide spoiler)]

^Totally agree with what you said about the gate scene. Why did they even bother with the whole (view spoiler)[we'll cut off his leg deal when he was going to keep it anyway? Seems a bit extreme for the circumstance.

I hope Shane gets offed soon. He's just an impending disaster waiting to happen. My theory is that he's going to turn on the survivors and go crazy, they're just setting that to happen.

Maggie's sister (can't remember her name now) just irritated me to no end. There's zombies outside and omg you get all dramatic and selfish? These people need to get out of the farmhouse and into the real world. I do think the series needs to get a move on with the whole farmhouse deal because it's just melodramatic now with the zombies as a side dish.

First she pulls the drive-off-without-telling-anyone (TSTL), then she lectures Andrea on life/death and complains that she's "tanning with a gun" on top the trailer and not helping around the house. REALLY? She needs to grow some ladyballs too b/c the whole "whatever you think is best, honey" routine is seriously annoying! The man knows you support him, but sometimes people actually wanna know what YOU think should be done in a situation. (referring to the shoot/save "hostage" dilemma) <--- and regarding that - SO frustrating. I knew Rick wouldn't shoot him. Granted, I didn't know it'd be b/c his kid walked in on it. But, that's buggin' me too.

Lori and Rick are fine with son wandering aimlessly around the property? WTF?! Then, his ignorant game playing with the walker gets Dale killed. Nice! Good job, kid!

But, damn, was that scene crazy or what?! Rippin' his gut open while tryin' to take a chop outta his face! WHAT!?! Damn! Finally though, yah? Some cool walker stuff is happening. It's about time they get a move on, IMO. (hide spoiler)]

I've dropped this show. I had a few episodes recorded but I've deleted them. The show is boring now and even though I know about (view spoiler)[the character deaths (view spoiler)[Dale and Shane (hide spoiler)] and the walkers coming for them (hide spoiler)] I'm not remotely interested in watching any more. :(

Bummer, but I can understand. I was seriously lacking for a lot of this season, IMO. There was a "big" WTH in the last episode. Hubster & I have some theories, but should prove to spice it up a bit. Ok, so I've gotten over my disappointment with the finale. Time to let it go until Season 3. ;) There are many things I'm looking forward to seeing in S03. However, I really wish the finale had been better. There were just too many instances within the episode where we didn't feel the writers stayed true to the character personalities thus far and where they all made some seriously stupid moves. Moves that you'd think they would've avoided after this long. But, they'd gotten comfortable on the farm.

Damn I want to click on those links! I am catching up though, I watched 18 miles -- which I loved. I loved the (view spoiler)[the showdown between Rick and Shane. I loved that Rick saved Shane. (hide spoiler)] I am halfway through Judge Jury and Executioner (view spoiler)[ Dale is trying to convince people not to kill Randall. Funny that Andrea used to be a civil rights litigator. Definitely read the comics, they are the first I've actually read and I really enjoyed them! It adds so much more depth to the world that's been created. The comics take a different, more darker path from the show, there aren't that many things in common with it except for certain characters and events. I don't think it will spoil your experience at all.

I can't believe we need to wait until September for Season 3! Last few episodes were really good.
