Hey Steph!TBH nothing would surprise me, but in terms of the character that they've presented us with so far, if the plot goes that Michonne chooses to leave Alexandria, it would be totally OOC if she didn't take the kids with her (both of them). She absolutely would NOT leave her kids behind as I doubt she has enough trust in anyone else at this point to take care of them as she can.
I don't blame Danai for leaving and am actually glad as it will probably finally free me from the chains of TWD, but if TPTB don't give her a solid storyline for her leaving (a la Lauren) I'll be really mad but not be in the least bit surprised as it is proven that they don't treat their people well other than Norman and maybe Jeffrey and Melissa.
Yeah, I'm wondering just how much longer the show will be able to go on - in regards to number of viewers - when she departs. :/
Okay. This current storyline is bugging me to no end. I haven't read the graphic novels, so I'm not sure if any of this is better addressed within them or on Talking Dead, which I haven't been able to watch lately. (view spoiler)

TBH I think this is another of those "it works better on paper" scenarios a la Negan (apparently anyway!). So many of the comic fans swear by the Whisperers and have been gaging for them to arrive on the scene, even more than were gagging for Negan to turn up.
TBH, I spend more time gagging at the show these days, it just seems to get more and more gross as the time goes on, and the thought of people (view spoiler)... turns my stomach completely.
Yeah, I'd read/heard fans were excited about Whisperers, so my disappoint has been doubled (at least) by the screen fail (IMO). LOL! I'm a gore girl at heart, but even I think that'd be kinda funkier than I'd do if I found myself in that situation.

That's a major reason it took me until partway through season 7 to bother trying to watch the show and see what all the fuss was about! I started at the beginning (you know me!) and was sold from the pilot because of the characters, but have always found the 'squick' parts incredibly... challenging!!!
Sorry, I've been traveling then I got the flu, but I'm all caught up so I can comment...The Whisperers hiding in herds was interesting, because you don't expect walkers to fight back. I liked the concept, but I don't know if after the initial surprise it's been working. (view spoiler) I was amazed at the cool idea, but gross. I was sick and I had to wear a mask in the doctor's office and it was hot and I hated it. And it's cold here and they are in hot, humid Georgia.
Alpha, meh. A sociopath for a mother would be a bummer, but I've been unimpressed by her leadership and mothering skills. The daughter, I don't really like her either.
Obviously, Henry does, but I don't really care for his wimpy tough act. I do like Daryl's new partner, Connie. I'm impressed that a deaf girl has survived this long into the zombie apocalypse. She must be smart, observant and have good support.
Now, Beta...I think he's got potential as a cool villain. Kind of a Merle-esque character.
I agree Steph, just wearing a zombie face and shambling wouldn't stop them from eating you. They are drawn to quick movements and noise, but don't they smell you too? Otherwise, why would the walkers have noticed Rick and Glenn when it rained on them?

I don't like domesticated Michonne, I like Michonne like I like Daryl. Out in the wild, kicking butt. I actually think now that Rick has moved on, he should go on without Michonne and the kids. Though, I don't see Rick doing that. I don't know how Michonne should go out, she's not going to leave her kids, so I foresee her death. I think Judith is the new Carl, the clever innocence in the story, until they are no longer innocent. I think when she is gone, Rick sort of fades away.

I had such high hopes, but they quickly faded and now I'm just frustrated by the whole storyline. Although, I agree, Beta (did you watch Sons of Anarchy? He's Opie!) is a good adversary and hopefully that'll make up for their unbelievable ability to avoid getting chomped in a herd. * singing "never gonna buy it, never gonna buy it" to the tune of En Vogue's "My Lovin'" *

The Walking Dead's 'Scars' Will Finally Reveal What Happened Before Time Jump
Finally! I figured they'd make us wait until the finale or next season to find out. Hoping we'll get all the answers and not be left with more questions, which they love to do.
Daryl and Connie? DarNie? ConNyl?
I like DarNie...but weren't there hints that Daryl might be gay...I'm not a fan of him being gay, but he really doesn't seem very interested in anybody, male or female except maybe Carol. So I'm hoping he and Connie...cuz he didn't get with Beth either. But Beth was too soft and didn't deserve him.Finally, it's about time we find out what happened in the time jump...like where the heck is Maggie.
Oh, I like Gabriel and Rosita together, but Gabriel is annoying and whining again. Maybe Rosita can whip him into shape. (view spoiler)
Ok so long one here...Ladies, you disappoint me a little! Michonne is so much more than a killing machine and seeing her 'domesticated' (although I would disagree that we've seen this as she is still out and about taking care of business). Carol has been seen much in the same way this season, but there are no comments about her being 'domesticated'. I see things like this being said about Michonne all the time and it just seems that people don't like seeing her as more than a sword-wielding zombie killer... and I have to wonder why?
Am fed up with Daryl, I would like to see him gone. It was his fault that a second person was killed in the Negan line up and it was his fault that (view spoiler). I do want to see much more of Aaron, and I want to see more of Gabriel and how he dealing with his new position in the community.
And sorry but I can't in all honesty ship Dirtyl with anyone (until he has a proper bath and cuts his hair or ties it back), let alone women who are for the most part bout half is age. Also, I like Gabriel, but again I can't see why he has been paired with a woman about half his age. (Rosita and Siddiq make much more sense to me). (view spoiler)
I think Connie is the most interesting person in this new group so far, and it's clear to me that she as a deaf woman has survived so long because of the skills she has learned through being deaf in the old world. She has clearly sharpened these skills post-apocalypse and in the fabric of the new world through sheer will and instinct and she has her little sister along to keep her sharp.
I HATE Henry with a passion, why (view spoiler) And why oh why does he 'like' this Lydia? What is so special about her to warrant him risking himself to 'save' her after a day or two? I know teenage hormones and angst go together but it just doesn't make sense to me. And yet again they have to play around with a silly teenage kissy kissy this time at a very inappropriate time... shaking my head in annoyance lol!
The Whisperers don't seem to Whisper very much! And I'm just finding them a bit ridiculous and annoying TBH. Alpha is no more reason than Negan for her extreme vicious cruelty and Beta has shown nothing of who he is yet so I can't say anything about him other than what happened at the end of the last ep was so obvious.
I've also said time and time again that Negan should be gone. They've wasted so much of their resources in the last however many years keeping him locked up and through his conversation with Michonne when he returned from his 'travels', he has shown he has not changed. Him having these conversations with Judith doesn't prove at all that he is a redeemed person, they just show me that he is praying on the mind of young and vulnerable and it makes me feel a bit sick.
Lastly, [deep breath, this has been a long one!] I am even more sure now that I am biding my time until Michonne is no longer part of the story. Unless some of the characters that I like are given more screen time, and the one I don't like are given less, I doubt very much that I'll be interested enough to keep watching after that point. I don't even think Maggie returning as a main character would be enough to keep me at that point.
One last comment (or question if anyone actually has an answer!?), is why do so many of the women in these action shows that have long hair not tie it back when they are out and about taking care of business? How can they (and Dirtyl) see aything with all that hair in their faces constantly?
Maybe I just don't like voices of reason or peace in the zombie apocalypse. I thought I didn't like Michonne when she wanted to settle down in Alexandria, but now she is anti-strangers and I still don't like her. But I loved Michonne's fierceness in the wild.I'm not a huge fan of Tara, in general, but I think she's my favorite leader, besides King Ezekiel and Carol. I liked Jesus, even though he didn't like being a leader. I wasn't a huge Maggie fan either, so wasn't impressed when she became the leader at Hillside. But since Gregory was such scum, Maggie was a vast improvement. I know Glenn wasn't keen to lead, but I just liked him. Too bad Hershel is gone, he'd have been a great leader.
In the zombie apocalypse, you couldn't pay me enough rations or ammunition to become a leader of a community. I am a Beta, not an Alpha. Unfortunately, I rarely find Alphas that are smart enough and skilled enough that I'm willing to follow, so by default, I often end up a reluctant leader. In the zombie apocalypse, my hubby better survive so I have a leader that I can trust and support.
@kittykat ~ I agree that I would definitely tie that hair back or cut it short to keep it easier to manage and keep clean.

I think that's me too but I tend to have very strong opinions [about stuff in general lol] and sometimes that makes it appear that I'm an Alpha even though I'm always up for voting for the person or people more suited to individual jobs...
The hair thing drives me cra-cra-cra-crazy in so many TV shows and movies, I just don't understand it!
Lol, sex sells, free flowing hair blowing in the wind is so much sexier than a practical pony tail or uptight bun.

That was the most underwhelming finale. I was thinking a long time ago that Carol, Morgan and Ezekiel would be in a love triangle. Guess not. Maybe Eugene's love interest was on the radio? Another nerd? Hope the whisperers don't last all the way through season 10.

I agree that it was underwhelming as a finale. It was interesting in parts, but I have to say that I hate what they did to Carol and Ezekiel. I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for (view spoiler) and seems to me that they are just prolonging the agony. I've seen lots of people online say that ep 15 would have been a better finale and I actually agree with that too.
In regards to the walkers and the snow, I just tend to ignore most of that kind of stuff, because the show is set in a, you know, zombie apocalypse!
I think it's time to put it to rest TBH, season 10 could be a knock out final season if they chose it to be.

I think Carol and Daryl are just friends. I think Carol would become more, but I think Daryl values her more as a friend than a lover. I am thinking Daryl might get together with the deaf character. I liked Carol and King Ezekiel together, but losing a child would be horrible.

I like the idea of battle of the mothers...Alpha against Carol. We know who I'm betting on.
Marla, Danai is not done yet, she will be in some of season 10, we just don't know how many episodes yet. Maggie went off the way she did because they are leaving it open for her return (even though the way it was done off screen was crap), but I highly doubt they would do that with Michonne due to her extreme popularity with fans. And I for one certainly hope they don't kill Michonne off, she has a family to reunite! I have a strong suspicion that she will appear in at least one of the Rick movies... am hoping! As for Negan, he did what he did for selfish reasons, not to be any great hero and Michonne thanked him because she is decent and gracious and so very thankful that her baby was saved, not because she owed him anything, which she doesn't.
I hated (view spoiler) they really are running out of that middle (semi?) generation in their world!
The radio business, well I can't focus on that or I'll go mad with thinking about it lol! The hiatus is soooo long, and (now that I finally got round to watching Fear) we have to wait till June for that!

'The Walking Dead's' Andrew Lincoln Movies Land Theatrical Distribution This is no big surprise as it seems this franchise is all about the $ instead of making entertaining TV, as they did in the beginning. Both series (Fear and TWD) have become a huge disappointment. I keep asking myself why I bother to watch since all I do is yell at the screen for an hour. LOL!
Almost seems like the crash and burn is intentional.
I would hope not, but who knows.
I don't see why they don't recast people, like Carl. If there's an issue with a particular actor recast instead of killing them off. They do it in soaps, takes a while to get used to a new person, better than killing them though.
The actor that played Carl, not sure about the others, didn't know his character was getting killed off. It certainly wasn't his choice. I saw a headline recently that Kirkman, author of comics, had ended the graphic novel series. I think Gimple and others in control of show(s) will run them into the ground instead of getting out while on top ... if they'll ever get back to "the top", ratings have continued to fall for last season or so.
I think the deaths of their character is always a surprise to the actor, especially because the series lets some characters live longer than in the graphic novels, kills some off sooner and invented some new characters (view spoiler).Some articles have speculated that's why Lincoln, Danai and Lauren Cohen decided to leave the series on their own terms instead of waiting for the call or watching their friends leave. Hey all you TWD fans, it's been a while... did any of you watch the mostly boring season 5 of Fear? What about that finale shocker? I'm FUMING!!! If it's a hoax I'm angry and if it's not a hoax I'm angry so they can't win with me!!!Only a couple of days now till season 10 starts of the main show, is anyone looking forward to it? If they do Michonne a dirty in her last season I WILL RIOT!

I am looking forward to it, but I think it's probably going to be my last season so that's a part of it. I really need to know that they take care of my Michonne as she leaves... I also need to see Negan dead (not EVER giving up on that!), RJ talking, Aaron stepping up as a leader, more of Fr Gabe stepping up, Rosita stepping up (and if they have her bumping uglies with Eugene I'll throw up lol!), more of Connie... but these are all high hopes!

Well, I liked the premiere generally, but I didn't like the narration at the beginning by the child character. Also, too much Negan (HE NEEDS TO BE DEAD) #sorrynotsorry about that!, I need to watch it again for more detailed thoughts but I did enjoy it first time round.

I'm just going to repeat myself here, but Negan should be dead, should have been dead when Rick slit his throat. Nothing he can do can redeem his previous behavor in my eyes because he just took too much pleasure in everything he did before. Also, in various convos he has proven that he has not really changed, just learned to adapt.
As for the Whisperers, I find them utterly boring and totally ridiculous - in the same way I found Eugene's find the cure lie totally ridiculous in season 5 (could not understand how they had TF taking him seriously over that one!). Not all of the source material works on screen and I wish they'd come up with more original material and see it through.

I agree that there is someone out there for Eugene and that is definitely NOT Rosita. HARD pass if they try to foist that on us... just because it's in the comics! And Rosita deserves some stability after all she's been through. I'm not a fan of her with Gabe, as I've said before Siddiq makes far more sense, (view spoiler) but leave her with Gabe please and don't give stupid people any more reason to slut-shame her.
