When I am between writing my books I'm either spending time coaching my kids in football or baseball and always looking for the next geat read.

Right now I am just starting Acacia by David Anthony Durham.

I am really interested in what our Members are reading. Give us a sense of what you have recently dove into and why...

John

The first one is for fun, the next three are for promised reviews, the last one is for work (I took the course and the book was given to us).

Charlie (bitsyblingbooks) | 9 comments I'm reading Rabbit Chasing Beth Rider by Ellen C. Maze

I have a book review blog and I love to feature GR's and indie authors. I have a 'laundry list,' basically, a short list of what I'm going to read next. http://www.bitsyblingbooks.com/p/laun...

Books are submitted by publishers, authors, friends and sometimes are ones that I pick myself right off the good old shelf.

message 5: by Terry (new)

Terry Odell (terryodell) | 38 comments I'm reading The Black Cat (Richard Jury, #22) by Martha Grimes and enjoying it.

I started The Executor by Jesse Kellerman and put it down.

Ellen Maze (ellenmaze) | 3 comments I am reading SHIVER Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater to take a peek at this book for my daughter.

I am also reading THEY THIRST They Thirst by R. Mccammon for myself. I read this about 20 times as a youth, and now that I am writing edgy Christian fiction (which this is definitely NOT), I am reading what I consider GOOD in the vampire genre. I consider this one of the best "true vampire" tales around.

Brigid ✩ I am reading …

Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson

All of them for fun and/or because I've heard a lot about them.

message 8: by Dan (new)

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) While I mainly write sf/fantasy, I read a wide variety of stuff. I'm currently reading Nifft the Lean by Michael Shea and Foreign Devils on the Silk Road by Peter Hopkirk.

I'm reading Nifft because it's an award-winner and Michael Shea was strongly influenced by Jack Vance. I'm reading the Hopkirk because I've owned it for six years and figure it's time to read it or chuck it.

On deck, I've got Night Lamp by Jack Vance, The Old Gods Waken by Manly Wade Wellman, and a stack of Hard Case Crime novels.

message 9: by June (new)

June Morgan I am rereading SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson because of the book ban by the minister in Missouri and the efforts by authors and readers via Twitter #speakloudly. Also, I am working on The Conspiracy of Kings by Megan Whalen Turner and The Magnificent 12 - The Call by Michael Grant.

message 10: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (fiona64) Deception by Jaimey Grant The Covenant by James A. Michener The Theory of Everything The Origin and Fate of the Universe by Stephen W. Hawking

My tastes are eclectic. :-)
