The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

There are so many good books out there in which you hear about the movie rights being picked up, and then you hear nothing else about it for a while (The Host comes to mind).
I'm also very antsy to hear what casting choices are going to be made for Hunger Games.

Alex looks to be the only thing that they got right for this movie. The other casting doesn't match the book at all.

Wow the image of the perfect Alex Pettyfer looking scarred like that is a bit saddening....

Even all scarred, he's still beautiful. Thanks for posting the link to the trailer!

You got it Shannen! That's exactly what I was referring to!

I he also the one in Beastly? Another vote here for Alex Pettyfer! Gorgeous!!!

I just started reading this series, am now on the second book and I love it. I too picture Alex Pettyfer(his name should spell Alex Prettyfine) as Jace. :) and for Clary I picture Rachel Hurd-Wood
I was wondering though, whats with all the smells and tastes, like copper, metal, and concrete? Does it really smell like that in that State?

She's gorgeous! Just needs to dye her hair red, and I'd love her for the role of Clary.

This one my fav cause she looks a little older more how I'd imagine her mom to look like when she was young.

The best thing about this series is of course the love story but also the humor, so many funny quotes, endearing characters and even though at some times it turned very dramatic it was always above all a fun fast-pased read, not to serious, Clary and Jace at their worst instead of moaning got sarcastic and the chemistry was incredible, inspite of the fact the author tried to trick us, for those of us with brothers, it was obvious the sibling thing was an evil hoax.

And Mayra, I remember nearly dying when I first read about the sibling thing. So glad that it wasn't the case. Phew!

I used the quote: "If you were half as funny as you think you are, you would be twice as funny as you are" on my boyfriend the other day. He thought I was a genius until I fessed up that I got it from MI!
I really want to read ID. I've got to get my hands on it.

I'll have to move MI up my list to under Finnick.

:)

I love the MI series, though. I have got to get a hold of ID as well. I have a huge "to read" list and I need to put that one at the top of it.

CL Wilson. It is definitely an adult series though. Not YA at all. I just happen to find the couple has that "meant to be" love like Jamie and Claire.
It is an epic fantasy series that is heavy on the romance, so it combines what I like about reading fantasy (great world building/magic/mystical races/wars or conflicts), but still has the girly aspect of romance in it.

*edit* Just wanted to clarify that Rain and Ellie in this book are not the same kind of couple as Jamie and Claire. Their personalities/actions are completely different. I just like their love story in a similar way that I enjoyed J&C's x2 (haha...jamie&claire - jace&clary).

I have actually been looking for recommendations on books with the same feel as the The Mortal Instruments (the love of Jace & Clary) with some adultness to it(sorry I'm a sucker for a good love scene;) . I also agree with you guys up there Outlander is the best love story ever ahhh that Jamie..:)

Back to the MI, I got the audio CD of City of Bones today and it is awesome!
