2. And Then He Kissed HerBy Laura Lee Guhrke.

I'm in the same boat. I posted my rec's for my partner friday afternoon & I'm hoping she'll be able to give me mine by the deadline. I was really hoping to get them by saturday or today since the massive budget cuts at my city librarie have made it so it takes longers for books on hold to get sent to your home library.
It's funny because I offered to rec books for people who haven't gotten theirs or are without a partner & I might end up being one of those people! LOL!
ETA: Whoa! I came back & noticed I mispelled/added unnecessary letters to a few words! I REALLY need to learn how to proofread my posts before posting them.

I am picking up Charming the Prince at the library tomorrow, and I have Hard Day's Knight and City of Bones ready to go. Thanks again for the recs!

Enjoy Dark Lover! Hope you get to some of the others, especially The Shadow of the Wind. I didn't notice it on your shelves, sorry! I think it would be even better in the original Spanish. It was translated beautifully, but the Spanish...wow, that would be something.
I'm really looking forward to 2 of your recs for me -- Til Next We Meet and Three Bags Full. Going to the bookstore today! Thanks again!

I would be happy to pick recs for anyone who needs them. Just let me know if anyone is without when the deadline passes and I would love to help.

I'm already reading Redeeming Love for a monthly challenge, but I'll post here how I like it since you recommended it too.
I plan to also read:
It Had to Be You and Fantasy Lover.

Thanks again!!
To Elke:
You'll notice from my recommendations that I read pretty much anything...lol. Based on your profile, it appears that you also have very eclectic tastes although I did notice that there were a couple of genres not represented (horror, SF) but I thought I should give you a couple of recommendations there in case you wanted to try them.
From your tbr:
Cross My Heart by Carly Phillips
Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie
The Duke and I by Julia Quinn
A Season to be Sinful by Jo Goodman
I haven't read an of these specific books but I have read others by both Jo Goodman and Julia Quinn which I've enjoyed. The Carly Phillips book looked "fun" and I had to include it - I've looked at her books several times but have just never gotten around to reading one.
Other options:
SF
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Horror
Watchers by Dean Koontz (One of my all-time favorite books. It's got suspense and a wonderful dog - what more could you ask for?)
Thriller
Term Limits by Vince Flynn (a political thriller that is written so well that you actually find yourself cheering for the bad guy)
Romance
Perfect by Judith McNaught (1st in the Paradise series)
If none of these work for you, let me know and I'll try again! This is the first time I'm participating in one of these challenges so, please, let me know if anything is incorrect.
Enjoy!

From your TBR
1. Slave to Sensation
2. Naked in Death
3. Dead Until Dark
4. Darkly Dreaming Dexter
New to you(maybe)
5. Midnight Never Come
6. Alice I Have Been
7. The Manhattan Hunt Club
8. The Rest Falls Away
I tried to give you a bit of variety. Let me know if none of these interest you, and I will be happy to think of more recommendations.

I try not to get too antsy 'cause it's just August 1st and nearly half of the participants this month are new.
Maybe they'll show up!... I know I didn't get it quite right the first time.

Thanks for the recs! Here's what I have for you:
TBR
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Beloved by Toni Morrison
NEW
Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Soulless by Gail Carriger
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

TBR
1. One for the Money It's a good start to a decent series.
2. An Accidental Woman by Barbara Delinsky
3. City of Bones There is one that leaves you wondering about the others in the series.
4. The Time Traveler's Wife So much better than the movie.
New
1. Love Story In my opinion a great book.
2. The Good Guy Since you've read Koontz before I'd thought I'd suggest this one. I liked it alot more than I did Odd Thomas
3. The Tenth Circle In my opinion another great writer like Barbara Delinsky.
4. The Traveler's Gift: Seven Decisions that Determine Personal Success I thought it was an uplifting book.
Hope you like some of the books I recommended

Sorry to be so late. Turns out my mom and dad's internet connection was unreliable and this was hard to do for the first time not being at home. We've temporarily moved up the coast of Maine and I have a better connection in the hotel
From your TBR list
Nerd in Shining Armor
The Darkest Night
Date me Baby One More Time
Mr Perfect
New to You
Scent of Darkness by Christina Dodd
After Dark by Jayne Castle
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
A Cold Day for Murder by Dana Stabenow

Thanks for the great book choices, I know I'll find something there I will like.. what I don't finish for this month I will add to my TBR list! Here goes for you, I hope you find something worth reading in my list!

Well, I hope you find something. Can't wait to tackle some of your suggestions, I really like reading books that other people suggest to get me away from the books I tend to gravitate towards. Have a great August!

I am going to have your list up tonight.... As long as I am not in Labor (lol)"
Excuses excuses! You've done your breathing exercises. There are minutes between contractions for quite a while. Just take a laptop with you.

If you don't get to it, I'm sure someone will be able to get picks for Lili. Here's hoping all goes well for you.

Actually, I don't see where my partner signed up on this thread...maybe I need glasses. Perhaps she signed up via the yes/no/maybe button without posting on here?

And I'm looking forward to see what you'll give me as well (:
Watch that space! \/ \/ \/

From your TBR:
I haven't read anything in there so I'll just have to pick 8 new ones.
NEW
1.

If I could have gotten away with it, I would have only recommended the Kate Daniels series books 1-4 because I'm absolutely in love with... well... everything about them. So, if at all possible I would insist you give them a try.
2.

Trust me when I say this is different to anything out there.
3.

4.

If you have to read a teenage love triangle with a vamp, a human, and a werewolf (again), I absolutely recommend this one.
5.

I'm in love with Nick. Is that good reason enough?
6.

Tired of vampires? Try shapeshifters! (ok it has a little bit of vampire on the side)
7.

8.

Well, I hope you like them!
Notes:
None of these books are really heavy on romance, except maybe the last one.
All of them have (arguably) strong female leads.
Most of them involve some kind of journey.

I am going to have your list up tonight.... As long as I am not in Labor (lol)"
Good luck Brandy! I hope everything goes well and that it goes quickly (or as quick as those things go.)

Brandy! Thats awesome! I'm sure you can't wait! LOL Good luck!

First of all, I'd like to say that looking at your TBR list can't be good for my health. There are so many books that I'd love to read on there. Our reading styles seem to be rather similar (:
Recommendations!
From your TBR list..
1. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson ~ I just finished reading it yesterday, and .. well, I quite liked it :) It was kinda different to what I'd expected, but I did enjoy it.
2. The Sky is Everywhere - Jandy Nelson ~ I really loved this book. And not just the neat layout and the blue text and the elastic band around it, (which the version that I had, had) but I think it was a great read as well. :3 I think you might like it.. hopefully!
3. The Color of Magic - Terry Pratchett ~ Now, I don't know how you are with humour and such, but I'm going to tell you to read it anyway! Because I thought it was such a deliciously funny book, that I think everyone should read it!
4. Cirque Du Freak - Darren Shan ~ I was really hoping this wouldn't be on your TBR, so I could get some books in the other part of the recs as well (: But you MUST read this book.. I mean, if you don't like it, you can just not read the rest, and it'll be no harm done, but I really hope you do like it, because it's absolutely awesome! :D So, you MUST read this (:
5. Stargirl - Jerry Spinelli ~ I thought that this was a really cute novel, so you should read! (:
I'm gonna get to the other books now, just a minute..
6. A Great and Terrible Beauty - Libba Bray ~ This is a must read! Because .. it's just a must read! (: Do it! :D And don't forget the rest of the series!
Lessee here!
New Books..
1. How They Met, and Other Stories - David Levithan ~ This is a collection of stories with many different sexualities in play :3 (If you choose to read it, I recommend that you skip Starbucks Boy and then read it in the end.. just because it's so cute :3 Or if you like it, then just re-read it! (: )
2. A Season of Eden - J.M. Warwick ~ If you don't mind the student-teacher relationship, then it's another great book for you to read! (: If you have anything against it.. then just don't read it.
3. The Song of the Lioness Quartet - Tamora Pierce ~ A great book in the fantasy section with a quite 'kickass main character', if I may say so :3 This was another series that I really really loved..
4. Book of Shadows (+ rest of series) - Cate Tiernan ~ Oh, these were great! Can't believe I almost forgot about them! (: Witchcraft, quite a loveable main character and two hot boys. What more could you hope for? And it's not as silly as I made it sound! :3
Did I go overboard? Hope not (:

1. Bitten. This one starts out slow but I really ended up loving the book and the series.
2. Stray, I've read all of the books in this series except this one. I know, I know, it's book #1, what I am I thinking. But I already had book #2 so I read it first.
3. Eternal Pleasure and 4. Wicked Nights. I've read some of her stuff and have these books. Sometimes her books are really good and other times not so much. I have no idea how good these books are.
5. Pack Challenge. I ended up really liking this book and have been working my way through the series.
6. Running Wild and 7. Wild Instinct. I was recommended these books by another Goodreads friend and loved them.
8. Shade. This was such a surprise. Came in not having an opinion on whether I would like or dislike the book and ended up loving it.
Hope you like one of these!

First, read message 294 for your recs.
Lol, I know! My TBR is bad for MY health, especially since once I choose them they have to either fly thousand of miles to get to me or be downloaded from whichever seller will accept my international credit card.
Great books, I think I'll start with the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...and I'll add the other ones to my TBR :)

No probs Pam! I know how irritating it is when your internet connection plays up. As I've just started The Darkest Night (which rules!) I'll read Nerd in Shining Armor as my pick :)
