brittany (cirilla) Maybe I'm just an Iron Fey fangirl.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) No, I think it was probably me not wanting to give it a chance. Sometimes if I walk away from a book and come back to it, I end up liking it. I had to do that with Graceling. The first time I tried to read it, I didn't like it at all. The second time I realized that the first section was just slow, and once I got to section two it got better.

message 4503: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I think I did that with AGATB. I need to go back to it. I bought The Iron King on a whim and loved it. I love fae though.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It happens every so often, like with this series (Gardella Vampires) :

I read the first one and remember nothing about it because I was having serious family issues that week (it was a hell week around here), but so many people tell me the series is very good and very unique, so I plan on going back and starting over very soon.

The Rest Falls Away (Gardella Vampire Chronicles, #1) by Colleen Gleason Rises The Night (Gardella Vampire Chronicles, #2) by Colleen Gleason The Bleeding Dusk (Gardella Vampire Chronicles, #3) by Colleen Gleason When Twilight Burns (Gardella Vampire Chronicles, #4) by Colleen Gleason As Shadows Fade (Gardella Vampire Chronicles, #5) by Colleen Gleason

message 4505: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Never heard of that one.

I wasn't overly impressed with Burned either. These books fluctuate, some are good, some not so good. I like Rephaim, I think that's what got me through it. I'm hoping Awakened is an improvement. IF IT EVER GETS HERE!!!!

message 4507: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Theres other stuff I want to read which makes it even worse :/

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Can you put it away for a while and come back to it later or is it a library book?

I couldn't get past the fourth book in that series... >_<

Its a library book and its due back next week. I can always get it out again though maybe.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) You're not alone Kara. I know more people that dislike the books than like them.

I'm just OCD with having to follow up on series that I'm already more than a book or two into. I will say that Awakened actually gave me hope that the series is finally going in a better direction. The twins were almost nonexistent and Zoey wasn't around much either, which made the book so much more enjoyable.

message 4512: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I won't be getting awakened for awhile though. My library hasn't got it out yet.

I will finish the series but maybe I'll put it down for maybe a month.

message 4513: by Jess (new)

Jess (jess_readsromance) There are like 12 books I think...I hope the Casts know where they're going. I mean how much more can they put Zoey through really?

I read the first three books, I think.

message 4518: by Jess (new)

Jess (jess_readsromance) I liked Zoey to begin with, and then we were introduced to soo many characters that I ended up liking Aphrodite a lot more than Zoey.

Tashina (tashinafalene) I just finished Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis and absolutely love it! I'm really glad there will be more books about these characters. Highly recommended!!!

I've read Mistwood (Mistwood, #1) by Leah Cypess before and it is really good. :)

And I can't stand the House of Night series. I read the first two books and couldn't begin to even like the characters. I kinda hope the books go away very soon.

And the Blue Bloods series is a awesome one! Have fun reading it, Aura! :)

message 4529: by Carina (new)

Carina Im probably gonna buy Across The Universe this weekend. Everyone is raving about it here And on Twitter!

Carina I havent started anything yet.
Im undecided between continuing the Shifters series, Pride (Shifters, #3) by Rachel Vincent , or taking a break from it and reading Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer ??

I was having a similar dilemma and everyone I asked told me to start reading Nightshade next. I'm hoping to read it before the month ends and hope it's good as everyone says it is, hehe.

message 4533: by Carina (new)

Carina @Jen I think Im gonna stick with Nightshade too!

message 4534: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Nightshade <3 Shay 3

brittany (cirilla) Mistwood (Mistwood, #1) by Leah Cypess is kinda confusing so far. Its the type of book that I would have loved when I was younger.

@Stacia, hope you like Unearthly.. :)

message 4544: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments I know why I'm having a hard job getting into The Iron King. I have been 'Fever' ruined. I loved the fae world that Ms. Moning created so much that I just can't switch it in my head and I just don't like TIK world nearly as much.

I've never read A Midsummer Night's Dream, but I feel like the author has just used Shakespear's world and not created her own, even the character's are from Shakespear.

Am I being too critical? I feel almost mean but I just can't get into it and something inside me really wants to.

Lol Julie kagawa used a range of different things to create her world but I loved it! Her Fae world is probably my favourite

Maybe it wasn't a good idea to read The Iron King right after reading Shadowfever. Specially since they are both Fae books and you loved Shadowfever so much. I think you should come back to Iron King later on, cause it really is a very good book =)
