Brit & Stacia. Well at least I'm glad it didn't just go over my head. I'm usually really good at interpreting weird endings but that just totally stumped me.

@Catherine I've had Such a Pretty Girl on my to-read for AGES! Let me know how it is and I might get it on my kindle!
You guys just made me LOL with all you SPOILER talk!"Did you (spoiler) it was awesome!"
"I totally thought that (spoiler) But i never regreted it..."
I have no idea what you're talking about. Hahaha sooo funny!
Carina, we were talking about the end of Dorian Gray. It was so weird. It kinda qualifies to be talked about here, coz it's a book by Oscar Wilde. But we got talking about it the other day and I finally got to see it on Sunday night. Just couldn't quite figure out the ending. On a completely Un-book related topic. Lordy Pete are we having BAD weather, it's all kind of nasty out there. This is officially the 1st blizzard I've ever been in. Kind of exciting really, nothing this extreme ever happened when I lived on the other side of the pond :-)
@ Camilla,You may be one of the first people I know besides me that's read Academy 7. I liked it but it needed more SPACE stuff. I wanted to see the planets and spaceships, but they were at a school half the time working on projects because they got in trouble. I wish the author would turn it into a series and explore the world more.
@ Catherine,
Gah. I don't know. BD dragged for me, but since Jessica said to do it, then go for it! Maybe it was just me. I do love Ridley and Link though!
Firelight is cute, but very similar to Twilight in its sugar sweetness. I liked it, but a few people I know were put off by the similarities to Twilight.
@ Alison,
The schools are shut down in our area because people are getting frostbite if they go outside. We don't usually get weather this cold.
@Ali & StaciaWe are having a snow storm too! Its only our second storm of the season and although I dont really like the snow, I have to admit that I missed it.
Carina & Stacia, I bet you are getting the same storm as us, apparently it is a huge swath all the way from texas up to the northeast and we're slap bang in the middle. We are set to get 2ft by the time it's finished. I had to take a breather just walking up to the barn the snow is now so deep and it's drifting badly too. the snow is nearly to the top of my car and it's UNDERCOVER in a lean-to!!! EEK. Can't imagine the aftermath of this when it finally stops tomorrow.
As I said, kind of exciting really (Yes I am officially bonkers LOL!)
Are you getting the snow?I'm just about to head out to the barn to feed the horses, wish me luck LOL! If you don't hear from me again, I'm probably buried under feet of snow.
I remember reading the Little House on the Prarie books when I was little, and Pa had to tie a rope from the house to the barn so he could find his way back and forth in the blizzard.
I made it back!! It is up to my knees in places and I'm 5'9". I have never in my life seen snow this deep, my poor dog was having to push it with her chest and she's a lab, so not that small.Stacia I bet you have seen much more snow that this, you probably think I'm a wussy wimp LOL! But we just don't get weather like this where I'm from.
Tonight we are expecting -10 with wind chill and tomorrow down to -25. I've filled both bath tubs coz at that temp my pump will freeze and I'll have no water. Joys of living in the boonies.
Sorry to everyone else for hijacking a book group and talking about the weather, but I'm a brit and that's what we do best Ha Ha!!
Stay warm peeps, let's weather this storm together :-)
Oh I know, at least I'll get to read more of
there you go I made reference to a book *grins*
Actually no I haven't really. I've only been in Colorado a few years, and where I live at we only get a few days of snow per year. We have had two heavy snows that have qualified as blizzards, but that's always the rarity, not the norm.I'm a northern California native, and we didn't ever get snow where I lived.
Oh, we have to talk about books again? I plan on getting back to Uglies again tonight and maybe I'll make real progress on it this time. I got sidetracked yesterday by another Hathaways series book. I'm having so much fun with The Hathaways.
Okay, so now I'm reading three books! Besides
and
, I'm also reading
. They're all so good, and I couldn't choose between them on which to read first. Why not all three? :D
I'm not really a manga girl, but I might try the series out since you seem to like it Brit. Maybe when I get my Nook color at the end of the month.
I used to be way more into Anime than Manga. VK is really good though. If it was a novel it would be a lovely YA book. But I prefer it being Manga.
So tonight I finished Such a Pretty Girl; (which was amazing & I would recommend it to anyone) it's a really quick read too. And I'm starting Beautiful Darkness... :)
DEVIATING AGAIN! I miss my BDB boys though, so I'm doing a short story that I missed out on when reading the series.
Ugh... All this ice & snow. Yuck! We here in Oklahoma aren't used to weather like this, so this is really throwing us off. :x
Britnee - *The Mistress of all evil!* wrote: "The Demon King is seriously taking me forever"I might just put it to the side for a month and go back to it when I'm in the mood to read a fantasy book. Right now I'm still in a pnr and historical mood.
Everyone seems to like it, so I'm sure it's good. I just have to be in the mood for fantasy. I will definitely read it. In fact, I need to add to my unfinished for now shelf so I remember to go back to it.
@Catherine around 29 celsius I think. So freaking hot.@Stacia I like Fantasy books because the characters are always strong and interesting.
I do too. I'm a multiple genre reader. Fantasy is just something that I have to be in the mood for though because of the world building. If you love fantasy, Tairen Soul = epic. Oh lord I love those books. It has all of the magic, the enchanting lands, warriors and wars, etc. but still has a great love story and so many hot guys. Plus flying cats...sigh. So, so, so, so good.
I have to be in the mood for any book really. Like when I read Stray I don't think I was really in the mood for it. Yeah I do wanna read them they look good.
I miss Shera posting in this group. When she read the first Tairen Soul book I remember laughing at her reaction because she mentioned fist pumping or something similar.
Yeah. I'm looking for her comment now because it was cute. I thought she put it in the Tairen Soul topic over in Delirity, but it's not there.
Okay, found it in her review :This book needs to be checked out just for the buzz alone that it's stirring. Don't let the soulmate and romance shelving fool you, this book could hold its own in with the Epic Fantasy. It has a fantasy world that rivals many that I've come across, plus has the added bonus of making me fall in love with more then just the main characters. You'll laugh out loud with this book, have "fist pump of victory" moments, bite your lip in worry, and just get all tangled up with this book.

that's a very convincing review.. i feel guilty for putting the series on hold for god knows how long... moving it up in my tbr as i type :)
