What are you reading now?

Okay, so I'm about to tell you something that is 100% a true story. I am absolutely not lying.
So yeah, most of you know by now that I have a teenage son (and the infamous troublemaking 2 year old). I hate admitting it because I feel so old, lmao, but I was a teen mom so at least we don't have this huge age gap either.
Anyway, he is several years younger than Zac Efron, so I had a hard time believing that this happened, but go with me here. This is a completely true story.
Last year the kid (who shall remain nameless for now), went on a spring break missions trip with his church to Guatemala. We went to pick him up at the airport and the whole team was completely harrassing him all the way down to baggage claim calling him Zac.
It turns out, they were going around to schools volunteering and doing plays, and for SOME reason, the girls all thought he WAS Zac Effron. It caused quite a panic at one school and I guess there was some rushing of the stage and a girl fainted. NO EFFING JOKE. One of the older guys got pics of it on his phone. I seriously thought everyone was playing a joke on me until enough people confirmed that this actually happened.
Zac is so much older and I don't think they look much alike at all, but apparently I know nothing...
Okay back to book talk (a.k.a my real world today because I am sick and have been reading on the couch nonstop).Where did you see that Alex turned down the role, Brit? I'm about to be a sad camper.
Oh and big yays for VA and MI. Two of my favorites in YA fiction. Kind of glad we're doing both as group reads next month. With all of those votes, it looks like a bunch of new people will be discovering these series, which is great.
Its on a few sites on the net. He apparently is turning it down for another movie - The Last Apprentice which he liked the books more than TMI
Ahhh. That stinks. I SO wanted him in the role, but honestly think (for a career move only) he would be smart in turning down any more teen movies though. Doing Beastly, I am Number Four and City of Bones back to back could kill his career. It's very hard to make the move to adult movies if you're typecast as only a teen actor.Don't get me wrong. I WANT him as Jace. I'm going to be so nervous now because I haven't seen any good casting picks for the role of Jace other than Alex. It will kill me if they cast someone that doesn't look like Jace, but I worry for Alex's career if he takes the role, especially considering how popular the movie is bound to be.
Rob Pattinson is going to have to pull off Water for Elephants with great reviews or I think his career is going to die a painful death because people have a hard time seeing past Edward.
Carina wrote: "Thanks for sharing that story Stacia, it made me laugh soo hard!"He's going back with the same group in the spring. I'm curious to see what adventures they have this time.
Ack, it's another teen series. Hopefully it's more sci-fi or fantasy than pnr? That might give him some more acting cred.
I'm reading clockwork angel now by Cassandra Clare, it's been so long since i've read one of these book that i forgot how good they were.
It's called the last apprentice I think. About a boy training to be an excorsist (SP?) in the 1700's or something. Still think he should do TMI. Damn the other stupid movie person. They will pay.
Cassie Clare said to not believe the gossip sites because he hasnt made a decission yet.So we still can hope he'll say yes..
@Stacia By the way, hope you feel better love!
@Carina I knoooow. But its likely he won't . This happens when i get my hopes up. No hope left for me!
Ty Carina :)@ Paul,
Clockwork Angel was great. I think her writing has just gotten better. It looks like this is shaping up to be a good trilogy.
I will before MI4 comes out. Going to do a whole series re-read so the details are fresh and I don't miss anything in CoFA. I'm STILL kicking myself for not re-reading Fever now because a few details in SF sort of went by me until people pointed them out.Feb is almost here. Time to dust off Night Huntress soon. Feb 22nd is coming up on us fast!
Haven't read it yet.Im almost half way through now but haven't got the time to do it.have to read it this week:)
@Britnee but, but.... =( we cant lose hope... not when I finally liked him to play Jace....life would be too cruel....and yes Im pouting right now ='(@Paul Cassie Clare has a very attractive way of writting. She pulls you in and doesnt let go, and CA is an Amazing book!

Probably not going to read NH again. Have too many library books.
*strangling Goodreads right now*I'm glad that we're getting so much traffic, but they need to work on this congestion issue freezing up the site.
@Carina Yeah i agree i can't wait to finish this book now. The fourth mortal instruments should be interesting. I'm wondering about how the character change will work, whether it will or won't

mines being doing it for the last couple of days
Stacia ~ the plucky heroine wrote: "CoFA theory [spoilers removed]"It would actually be kinda annoying if they did. I like me some drama.
Yep. I was just about to post that same type of sentiment on Timipre's comment in the VD topic and that stupid Gnomeo and Juliet popup too me to Travelocity when I accidentally clicked on it.*bangs head on the desk* I should just go back to laying on the couch and feeling sorry for myself over feeling like a sick piece of poo today.

LOL, i know. Love the Dimitri and Rose moments, they are always soo good.
Is this your first time reading City of Bones? I haven't read the Mortal Instruments Series yet, but I want to. I've heard so much about these books and the Infernal Devices series too.
