I ordered mine today ;p lucky I already read it. PUCK!

Kara (kara_writes) | 129 comments @ Isamlq: Yeah, its out today :P
@ Britnee: Nope. Ash is better :D

message 4053: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq I used to love puck too but there's something about ash in iron queen that changed my mind. :)

message 4054: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I like them both. Ash in TIQ definitely made me like him better but I still love Puck more.

message 4055: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq Yes! I loved Iron Queen, one of the best books I read last year. What's funny is TIQ just came out and I'm looking forward to Iron Knight (more Ash and Puck in it!)

Ha I read it a few weeks back. So its one of the best I've read this year. Omg I can't wait for The Iron Knight! Puck and Ash working together!

message 4057: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq yum yum :)

message 4058: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Yeap (:

Also can't wait for the cover O:

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Sigh. Never enough time. I have books 2 and 3 (Daughter and Queen) but haven't read them. I will, but just can't yet. I say this too much, but I really want a reading holiday.

Will probably log off in a few (in a pissy mood for some reason tonight and not sure why) and go finish up Succubus Blues. I think I might be breaking character and liking the non-cocky guy better. Something about the really attractive up-front guy is annoying me in this one, but I think I might know why...

message 4060: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I always say I want to take a break from reading and i never do. Well i kind of am atm.

I have to read that. One day. Heh I've already done that with not liking Will and liking Jem instead. Well he can be okay..<.<

message 4061: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Jan 24, 2011 10:37PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh no, I don't need a break now. I barely read at all the past few weeks (which is why I droned on and on about stuff I'd ALREADY read) and am ready to get back into it.

I need a few days to go sit on a beach and read or something. I'm tired of either having to read really late at night, or in a really noisy room. Since I have a toddler, I can't just go lock myself in the bedroom to read in private.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I think Will's going to go into full on jerk mode in book 2. I still really like him, but it almost seems like he's being set up to be the black sheep, leaving Jem to swoop in on full hero mode.

message 4063: by Isamlq (last edited Jan 24, 2011 10:41PM) (new)

Isamlq i dont know how you do it stacia, but my sister put me in charge of her baby a couple of days ago, and it was an eye-opener for sure...

i might pick up succubus as well :)

as to will and jem.. i love them both.. im glad i finally read CA... now if only book two were out now!

message 4064: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Oh right lol. I've read heaps these summer holidays so. Too much stuff I wanna read though.

Argh I read better late at night because I babysit my 6 year old sister and i can't concentrate <.<

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Isa,

For a future challenge...should I do Mercy book 3 or Kate Daniels book 2?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh, and will I like Finnikin or Jellicoe better? I think Finnikin meets the requirement for a weapon on the cover, but is it okay to start with Finnikin? I know you've read Marchetta.

He better not <.< I'm hoping he redeems himself. But Jem will always be better.

Isamlq Stacia ~ the plucky heroine wrote: "Isa,

go for mercy book 3.. kate daniel's book 1 and 2 are not the best in the bunch (the latter series really gets good in books three and four)

as to marchetta's finnikin, it's a greatfantasy. but i really like her contemporary books (so go for jellicoe first.) :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Hmmm...maybe I can fit it into a challenge read somewhere.

message 4073: by Jess (new)

Jess (jess_readsromance) Yeah it does. Definitely something to add to my TBR list for 2011 among the other bajillion books!

I started Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent too Brit!

Im around page 23 I think? Satrting chapter 4. But I had to put it down cause I have to go to work now...urgh!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) yay :)

message 4079: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Argh I'm not very far either. I kinda overslept.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) The first few chapters were sort of slow to me, but it does pick up after a little bit.

message 4081: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I'm not liking Marc so far.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I am on the Jace side of the line. Jace always appealed more to me than Marc. You'll meet him soon. BUT...I will say that Marc did grow on me. He does love her and they do have a sweet history. I still didn't like him more than Jace, but I did grow to like him for different reasons.

Hmmm I'll have to see then. I bet I'll be Team Jace though.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Jace has the bright blue puppy dog eyes, and is cocky and playful. Marc's the non-conformist, but he's described as being very loyal and he'd kill anyone for Faythe. He's also Mexican (yum, don't see many non-white guys in books) and well put together, and he sounds hot. I'd be okay with them both fighting over me.

Okay then they both sound hot. xD

message 4086: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq Woohoo you guys are reading Stray!
I'm starting Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta right now.

message 4087: by Carina (new)

Carina Ok Im in a BIG predicament right now...
I just got an email from my library saying Catching Fire is ready for me to pick it up! I've been waiting 2 months for this book but Im reading Nightshade and Stray right now.
Im soooo tempted to drop everything and read CF, but I can tell Im gonna like Stray if I keep reading it, so my question is this:

WHAT DO I DO????
Stick with the books Im reading now or come back to them later and start Catchingfire...

message 4088: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Carina well Catching Fire was my favourite out of them..

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Don't you get to keep the book for 2 to 3 weeks?

Wait a day or two to pick up CF (most libraries hold for up to 7 days) and then you'll have those couple of days plus a week or so to get further into your other two books?

message 4090: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Personally I would finish the books I am reading first ONLY if it wasn't really bugging me to read the other one.

message 4091: by Carina (new)

Carina Im gonna keep reading what I am right now (specially since you and I are reading together Brit!)
And I pick up CF when Im done, that way I wont be tempted...
;D

message 4092: by Carina (new)

Carina Man, I wish I was at home reading (Stray specially)...it is soooo boring here at work!

Okay then! I'm reading Stray right now haven't met Jace yet..

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) He'll show up soon. Are they back to the ranch yet or is she still at school?

message 4095: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Stacia ~ the plucky heroine wrote: "He'll show up soon. Are they back to the ranch yet or is she still at school?"

Oh I'm meeting him right now.

message 4096: by Carina (new)

Carina Im on page 23, she's barely back at the ranch. This is what I put on my update of the book:

"I'm on page 23 of 618 of Stray: Well its the beggining so not much to say except...Marc: wow intense much? Jace: grrrr..."

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Is that a good grrr or a bad grrr?

message 4098: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Oh I like him already.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Didn't he come in and tackle her or something? It's been a while so I don't remember, but he made an impression on me right away.

message 4100: by Carina (last edited Jan 25, 2011 02:41PM) (new)

Carina @Stacia Oh its a VERY good grrrrrr...its probably more of a purr... you probably know why. They should introduce more characters that way!
