Alison | 234 comments I have the same problem, everything else just pales in comparison and I think you have to give your mind a break for a few days to re-adjust.

Stacia, regarding your earlier comment about how adult males can get away with a lot more than YA males, I totally agree, why is that I wonder?

And I have to admit, even though Barrons is Peeing me off royally right now (75% read so far), I do still find him incredibly sexy. In real life though, I would not tolerate it, any man who treated me like that would only get one go at it :-)

As for whiny protags (you guys were mentioning Luce) I hate them. I have a real pet peeve about whiny protags and that's probably why I was not enthralled with Evermore. Vunerability is fine, it makes the book actually, but whiney, urgh. Think I'll pass on Fallen.

Okay, rambling over with for now :-)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments Sooo... Does anybody want to go & choose a book from my I Have list for me to read? My sixth book for the Buddy Book Challenge still hasn't come in at the library, so I need another. I figure the I Have (one which is also on the To Be Read) list is the best to pick from because I actually have those in my possession. <3

I still need somebody to pick a book for me to read for the Buddy Book Challenge. I just need someone to pick a book off of my To Read/I Have list... I can't get the one that was chosen for me from the library in time. :/

message 3812: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments Since it's a last minute thing, I'm thinking it will be fine if you pick. Because I can't even find my original buddy on here. :x

message 3822: by Carina (new)

Carina I can seriously say, its on my Top 3 best books I've ever read!
It will make you scream, cry, jump from joy and by the end of the book you'll be breathless! Like I said, Am-a-zing!!!

message 3823: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments I finished Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning last night and fell in love with my kindle all over again. The cliff hanger was so amazing I turned on the wireless ordered Shadowfever and there it was less than a minute later and I didn't even have to get out of bed :-).

So now I'm reading Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning I read the 1st chapter before I went to sleep and kind of wish I hadn't. I didn't hardly get any sleep at all it was such a shocking first chapter but I was too tired to read any further to see if it got any better.

I live in hope that things aren't as bad as they seem at first light.

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 914 comments Reading Generation Dead (Generation Dead, #1) by Daniel Waters WTF by Peter Lerangis I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies, #1) by Pittacus Lore . About done with GD. Found out my library has the first and third of the trilogy. Why not the second? Who knows. And only one other library in the state has is and I have to wait at least 5 months to even put it on hold. I think that I will try to get my library to order it. :D

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) @ Camilla,

I liked Generation Dead but it's sort of different in a strange way.

@ Joanna,

Glad you're back and know you will love it when you get to it!

@ Alison,

That first chapter was so heart wrenching, wasn't it?

message 3826: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Carina Lol I probably won't cut down. I say I will but I'm *Sniff* not strong enough D;

Hehe yay for Shadowfever! I'm around halfway - so good!

Same. I wish everyone would read this darn series. We've only gone on about it for weeks now. When I compare it to most of the stuff I've read recently, it's like comparing 3 day old pizza to a really good meal. Even if book 1 is sort of "eh," the series is sensational, especially books 4 and 5...sigh.

message 3828: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) We need to make people read them then - by force! jk xD

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Britnee loves Zero wrote: "We need to make people read them then - by force! jk xD"

I think some people are afraid of "adult" series. It's not uncommon for people to think they're either about constant sex (which to be fair, some adult books are) or that the story will be too hard to process or get into.

This is Urban Fantasy though, not PNR, and Books 1 and 2 don't have any sex in them, other than a brief mention of the "death by sex" fairies and those "wtf" moments with V'lane that sort of don't really count. I saw WAY more explicit content in VA and HoN than I did in books 1 and 2 of Fever.

By the time you get to any books that do have sex in them you realize that you're hooked on the story and you're reading because it's just a REALLY good book series.

Even though book 1 is sort of strange and you don't understand just how great the series is going to become right away, the payoff of the other books wipes away book 1's floundering by 1000%

message 3830: by Carina (new)

Carina @Britnee Dont worry, reading is a good kind od weakness ;)

@Stacia I know! Its not that the other books I've loved before suddently got bad or not as good. Its just that Shadowfever was a complete Fenomenon!
I now have a new definition for Awesomeness: Shadowfever!

Oh by the way I stopped by the book store this morning and bought me some Unearthly! =)

message 3831: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) That's true. Night huntress has more sex in it than Fever tut its still a good series because it actually has a lot of other stuff happening.

It is a really good series. I'm so glad I read them.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) That's exactly it Carina. It's not that I love books like Vampire Academy or Mortal Instruments any LESS (because I still love them!), it's just that I realized after reading Shadowfever that the book was on a whole completely different plane.

Carina Im a now officially reading Unearthly Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand ...

According to you guys its not the typical YA book, which is good cause I need something refreshing. Hopefully this book will help me move on from the shock and all the emotions Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning left behind!
(Shadowfever is going to be so hard to move on from!!)
