Sara | 114 comments How is the first book too weak without revealing too many spoilers? Also, has anyone read the Stray series? And is that YA or Adult?

I guess not a lot really happens. You kinda just get used to the world in it.

Sara | 114 comments oh ok

message 3655: by Carina (new)

Carina @S
Well like any other first book in a series, there is alot of explaining to do. There is some action but mostly at the end.
Mostly is alot of building up but it gets really better on the second book! (I hope I made some sense)

I know, I've been reading great reviews about it! I've been dying to read it since last year, and I only just got my copy, so I'm (almost literally) itching to read it.

Stray is the first book in Shifters. It's a fun series about werecats with a kick ass female, much like Rose in VA. There is a lot of action, as well as a hot love triangle.

I third Fever of course. Like Carina said, book 1 is sort of slow just because you're figuring out what's going on, but the rest of the books are like crack.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Okay...I replied to a post but then a whole extra page of posts just popped up so it looks like I'm talking about random stuff.

GR has been acting weird lately.

Hope Hunger Games is going well for you though, S. :)

@ Shia,

The last half of book 3 is crazy.

Yeah, I get the book 1 thing. I wasn't that into it either. Everything after book 1 really is crazy good though. The series as a whole is full of goodness.

@ Carina,

Tonight's going to be a late night. I'll be reading until my eyes burn. I wonder if Joanna and Isa have already been able to get their copies.

@ Anagina,

*wicked grin* Enjoy Bones. Lord knows the rest of us do. If he was a real man, we'd be stepping over each other to get to him.

@ Camilla,

Yay for more Patch and Finnick!

message 3680: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) If Bones were real he'd have to go into hiding. He'd be mauled by fangirls.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I read your review of Lipstick Laws Catherine, and laughed when Catherine and Catherine were talking to each other in the comments. Too cute.

He'd make all that silly Edward hype look like sandbox play.

Argh now I wish he was real! Anything to get rid of the edward hype. He isn't even hot.

message 3686: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments Well I finally finished Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost and started on Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning last night. The 1st chapter took a bit of getting into coz it's been awhile since I read Faefever. Everything's coming back to me now though.

message 3687: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Alison Ahhh Night Huntress is so good!

message 3688: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Starting Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning right now!!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) !!!

message 3690: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I can't help myself. Everyone is saying how good they are!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Book 2 is slightly better than 1, but the series doesn't get completely addictive until the second half of book 3, which will blow your mind. Book 4 is one of my favorite books of ALL TIME, it's that good.

message 3692: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I have book 3 out from the library so I'll get through that one faster than the others. I'm probably going to end up buying Shadowfever is I get addicted -_-

message 3693: by Carina (new)

Carina @Britnee Whohoo!

@Stacia Tonight will definetly be a sleepless night!
Last night I went to sleep at 3 when I finished Before I Fall, but I predict tonight I wont go to sleep at ALL!
Besides Sleep is over rated and Shadowfever is too important!

Sleep is the most overrated thing ever invented. We need to find a way to eliminate it.

message 3695: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments I really enjoyed NH 1 I was sad at the end. It must be very hard for Cat. But I won't know what Bones is going to do about it until I read the next one and who knows when that will be.

Carina I thought Shadowfever is out tomorrow, how did you get hold of it today?

message 3696: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments ps. you guys have to promise to put big HUGE spoiler alerts on anything to do with Shadowfever, coz I've just started Dreamfever and you all know how long it takes me to get through a book. I'm gonna be so behind in the conversation :-(

message 3697: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Alison the second one is even better.

Oh and Shadowfever is out some places. We've had it here for a few days.

message 3698: by Carina (new)

Carina Yup totally!

message 3699: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Jan 17, 2011 03:02PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Okay, I'll remember spoilers. Can't promise for anyone else.

Any big points that I have to make will probably be in the Shadowfever topic anyway.

message 3700: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments Britnee, where are you? I saw how much you said the book cost so I'm guessing you're not in the States.

Thanks Stacia & Carina. I'll catch up eventually, promise :-)

Got a meeting to go to now (boo), be back in a bit.
