Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Then I have to work on getting you to read Black Dagger Brotherhood, which might be harder since no one here has read them that I know of except for Isa and Timipre. How do you not love a bunch of hot, butt-kicking vampires dressed in black though?

However, I've been overdosing on romance lately, and could probably stand to get back into some sci-fi and fantasy books so I don't alienate my guy (and non-romance reading girl) friends. My poor sci-fi & fantasy group has been neglected and they used to be my highest group for posts. Wonder who took that spot...hmmm...

Nite, nite. Going to go read Lover Avenged and sigh over Rehvenge.

I really liked Before I fall, hope U do too:)

message 3479: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments @ Carina, I have to add another series. I absolutely love it. It's called The Midnight Breed Series and is about (what else) a group of sexy Vampires who one by one find their soulmates and fall in love under the backdrop of an evil Vampire who is plotting to take over the world etc etc. I love the author's voice.

I haven't read the BDB yet but I will probably get to those after finishing the Midnight Breed series. They sound similar in premise though.

I think I need to get on the Holly Black bandwagon too. Maybe after I'm done with Fever, and NH and BDB eek!

I'm just over the half way mark in Nightshade. TEAM REN! Shay is a complete noob (that's UK talk for and idiot!)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Carina wrote: "Ok Im gonna post the books I told you guys about last night. I want to start one of the many series that have been recommen..."

Okay, so...I've read all of those books except for Cassie Palmer, Rachel Morgan/Hallows and the first LoTU. I actually plan on reading LoTU in the near future, so I'll let you know.

As for the rest of them, it depends on what mood you're in.

BDB = hot and steamy love stories with kick butt vamps
Chicagoland = closest I could compare it to would be the Shifters series but you haven't read that one yet. It has a really sexy and mysterious male vamp that's in charge of a house of vamps, and the books focus on a girl fighter that defends him. The relationship takes a few books to develop like Fever, but they're fun to watch because they fight a lot.
Tairen Soul = Epic Fantasy with an even more epic love story. It has flying cats and magical fey, etc. I love almost every character in the series and it's one of my all time favorites, but it's very traditional fantasy, not PNR.
Kate Daniels = similar to Mercy Thompson with a slower build relationship. Have only read book 1 which was very slow for me, but I've heard from many, many people that the series gets really good once you hit book 2. I know that Isa really likes it.
Highlander = Historical romance, ties in with Fever series. Does not read like a Fever book at all, since they are romance novels, but you will find out lots of extra details about the MacKeltars, the Fae, the Seelie and the hollows if you read the books.

I would recommend any of the above. If you want a fun story, I'd go with Chicagoland. If you want PNR I'd go with BDB.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) @ Patty,

I've never heard of the Night School book. You'll have to let us know if it's any good.

message 3488: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments It's been so slow the past couple of days coz of the snow and gazillion degrees below freezing. I got bored, could ya tell? :-) Usually I'd be a busy beaver working during the day but like my hubby always tells me, I find it impossible to relax.

Have got more than 1/2 way through NH #1 though. But now I'm a bit confused and I'm sure Stacia and Carina can put me straight. Someone mentioned that they hope Cat and Bones will finally get together but I just read where they did get together (in the 1st book)???? Am I missing something? or can you not say coz of spoilers?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It's a 9 book story arc, so it's safe to assume that a relationship might have ups and downs.

message 3490: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments Ooooooh... I got Fallen Angel by Heather Terrell in the mail today!!! Now I want to read it. Hmmm... I also got X-Men: Codename Wolverine by Christopher Golden; which is for my son... Which means I get to read it to him. lol

Fallen Angel by Heather Terrell X-Men Codename Wolverine (X-Men) by Christopher Golden

message 3491: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments @Stacia, not too many downs I hope.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) We're only on book 4 right now, so who knows? I'm pretty sure Cat and Bones are meant to be though, so it's not a huge worry of mine.

message 3493: by Carina (new)

Carina @Stacia Damn I'm still debating on which book to read...

@Anagina SInce I just finished CA, I discovered Im not in the mood for Before I Fall. Sooo many people have recomended this book that I dont want to blow it by reading it in a crappy mood.

Hopefully I pick it back up in 2 or 3 days.

@Alison Yes I agree with you. I've been heading to bed latter and latter so that I can be a part of the awesome disscussions that unravel at night! lol

With so much books waiting for me, I want to do it too.

Now I'm reading City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3) by Cassandra Clare . Team JACE!!!

message 3495: by Carina (new)

Carina @Sai I used to read alot more last year, but since December I have a lot less time for reading. I think thats why Im so behind...

Yeah, Jace rules! :D

message 3497: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments @Sai, join the club. I am envious of how fast these guys read. I run my own business and also write so I only get to read for about an hour each night when I go to bed. It takes me about a week to finish a book sometimes coz I'm a slow reader to boot.

I want to join in the conversations about all the different books but I think it would take me a lifetime to catch up to everyone on here. So I have to pick my poison, so to speak.

Looks like MI is going to have to go on that ever increasing list of reads :-)

message 3498: by Carina (new)

Carina MI is definetly a must read Ali!

message 3499: by Ida Suyanto (new)

Ida Suyanto | 32 comments @Carina, you feels you are so behind but it seems to me you know many books I don't know. so I am behind you haha

@Alison, we are turtles in the middle of rabbits. lol. I can't join all of the conversations because I'm afraid I read the spoiler =D

message 3500: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments Yep, that's me, a turtle LOL!!! Well I guess I'm gonna miss out on another late night conversation. Gotta get up early tomorrow, so I'm turning in to read some more NH. At least I can catch up on that conversation *grins*

I'll be back tomorrow evening to see how much I missed, Night all.
