Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I agree that she likes Shay because he's different. People always like the shiny new toys, especially if they've only been exposed to limited choices in toys their whole life.

Ren is sexy to us because we're getting to know him outside of his childhood relationship with Calla.

Dija @Stacia: Great, because I'm a fast reader as well and I love action but can't stand long, boring passages. I hope I'm a diehard fan, Jaimie seems like an interesting guy to fawn over. ;)

@Joanna: No, I think that's solely 9 books for NH and then there are 3-some books for NHW and 2-some books for Vlad's story, which I'm not sure are combined with NHW or are a separate spin-off. I can't wait for it, though!

brittany (cirilla) I just finished Unearthly by Cynthia Hand and WOW. Absolutely loved it.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Ask Isa about Roarke. I still haven't read In Death yet, but hope to get to it someday.

Going to take a sleeping pill and try to hit the hay even though I'm wide awake. G'night (or afternoon/morning depending where you are).

Add/Book Author and then click 'cover'. Is that what you're having trouble with ?

Joanna (joannaoj) | 394 comments ok so i just got a copy of Awakened (House of Night, #8) by P.C. Cast problem is i don't read HoN books anymore. the last book that i've read was Chosen. should I or should i not continue reading this series?

It gets better after Chosen, IMO.

Joanna (joannaoj) | 394 comments @Britnee really? i just don't like that Zoey's hooking up with her teacher while she's still with Erik. also with her ex-boyfriend.

message 2963: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Joanna I didn't like that but she isn't so skanky in the next two. I read for Aphrodite, I think she would be a better MC than Zoey.

Jess (jess_readsromance) Joanna wrote: "@Britnee really? i just don't like that Zoey's hooking up with her teacher while she's still with Erik. also with her ex-boyfriend."

It does get better after Chosen, I felt the same way about Zoey when she hooked up with her teacher, but it does get better so keep reading for sure!

I think they're doing that with the Harper Connelly series by Charlaine Harris, actually.

Carina I havent heard that series mentioned. Have you read it? is itgood Meg?

Personally, I've never read it before. I was actually gonna put it on my TBR for next month. =]My mom and my sister have read it and they LOVE it.

wow, i just read that. CBS optioned it for a TV series. that author is so lucky. first Sookie Stackhouse to HBO, then next Harper Connelly to CBS. just wow.

The perfect recipe for a perfect book!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Nice. :) Awakened was a fun read, and I'm liking the series again after HoN had a few mediocre books.

I'm dying with laughter here. I go to bed, get up and do other stuff for half the day, log on to the computer and you all are still talking about Night Huntress. I think I created a monster by ever bringing up that series in the first place! Not that I mind. The books should be placed in every single PNR lover's hand over the age of 15?

A couple of hours ago I was sitting in my huge comfy chair and was going to grab one of my "currently reading" books but felt too lazy to get up and move, so I snagged my Nook from the side table and started reading a BDB book, but about 2 chapters in was feeling confused. Turns out I had skipped ahead to Phury's book without reading Vishous' book first. Now I have to go back to number 5, haha.

message 2984: by Dija (new)

Dija I am now reading Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer and it's been the longest time since I've been completely sucked into a YA novel like this. And I'm totally up there with all you Ren lovers, he's amazing! But I also don't hate Shay that much; Calla's a bit unrealistic in her "love" for him, but I can see why she would like Shay because she's feeling rebellious, lol.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh nice, Lindsay. Haven't gotten as far as TFC yet. You'll have to let me know if you like it.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) You're already cool in my book. I, however, am not cool anymore because I just used that phrase.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I keep changing what I'm reading. Timipre's been reading BDB and it made me want to pick up with the series again, so I'm on :

Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #5) by J.R. Ward

I promise to make sure to read lots of YA this month, but I have this itch that needs to be scratched right now for some actual romance.

@ Isa,

You're going to have to tell me why you gave this one a lower rating than the others. I thought V was one of your favorite brothers.

I'm really loving Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward My heart is breaking so much for Zsadist.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) His story is heartbreaking. How do you not love Zsadist? He's so tortured and you just want to make it all better for him. My only complaint about that book was his use of the word "it" for his malepart.

Wow.. I was super busy today!!!

@Stacia, I checked to see what I rated it and I was SHOCKED to see 2 stars! My bad because that was meant to be 3 - 3.5 (from a 4 star rating..) I distinctly remember not being that into Butch's story (3 stars) and looking forward to what would happen to his roommate (V).
Yes, V is my favorite but I rated his story a 3-3.5 because the the resolution was too pat, and the PRIMALE thing just didn't work for me.

message 3000: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments Okay, I am seriously going have to get on the Night Huntress bandwagon. Is the 1st one Halfway to the Grave?

As for Outlander - I tried to get into it after a friend told me she loved the books and loaned me the whole set. Sorry, but I just couldn't get into it. All the laborious detail just weighed it down imo and I gave up after a few chapters, wondering if the story was ever going to start. Nowadays I wonder if it would get published at all. All the agents want is a hook from line one and grab the reader straight into action and story, they frown heavily on excess detail now.

My reading time is so limited I can be a bit cruel. If the first couple of chapters don't pull me in, I delete it and move on to the next book. The absolute BEST thing about having an e-reader, you can download the 1st 3 chapters for free and not spend a penny, if you don't like the book move on.
