Camilla (camillaisloved) | 914 comments Holy crap! I am not on here for two days, and already over 200 comments!

Well, just got done reading Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins and Awakened (House of Night, #8) by P.C. Cast . Great books!!!! Now I am going to read Girl in the Arena by Lise Haines , Stolen A letter to my captor by Lucy Christopher , Another Pan (Another, #2) by Daniel Nayeri , and Ghost Town (The Morganville Vampires, #9) by Rachel Caine for this month so far! Yaya!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Yeah. We kind of hijacked with Night Huntress chatter for the 20th time. Sorry about that, but we're all a little obsessed with Bones.

I can't believe how good it is!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) @ Lazuline,

Haha at the silly smile. I keep saying that there is something about Bones that is universal. Not one person can resist him. Jeanine Frost created a legend.

Zsadist has one of my favorite names in PNR for some reason, but JR Ward needs to lay off the consonants. Phury, Rhage, Vishous, Xhex, Tohrment? It's a bit much!

message 2925: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Jeanine Frost is a legend for creating such a sexy man.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh, and I actually really liked Awakened. Go figure. I was half expecting to be underwhelmed.

message 2927: by Joanna (new)

Joanna (joannaoj) | 394 comments hey guys i've been wanting to ask this, do you know any adult-pnr that is optioned to become a movie or tv series? just like Sookie Stackhouse?

message 2928: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Jan 05, 2011 11:54PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) BDB was being optioned for a movie (possible set of movies) as of a year ago, but I haven't heard any updates on it since. I'd have to go back and check some old Amazon threads.

Scanning the books to movies thread now and only seeing our conversation revolving around mostly YA books to movies.

message 2941: by Dija (new)

Dija @Joanna: Frost has amazing talent while describing Bones's outfits. Just take this, for example:

Bones was also dressed as though entertainment were his only motivation. His long sleeved top was made entirely of black mesh, his crystal skin exposed more than it was covered with the material. Leather pants hung low on his hips, tight enough to hint at his assets, but with enough give that they wouldn’t hinder his movements. The all-black ensemble combined with his dark hair only made his pale skin even more striking by comparison, drawing the eye to the muscled flesh those hundreds of tiny holes revealed.

Made me nearly faint, I swear.

@Stacia: Completely agree with you on the legend thing...Bones has got to be one of the most, if not the most charismatic character in the Fiction World.

Haha, I so get what you mean. I tried really hard to pronounce the names like they were written, but now I just pronounce them like Fury, Torment, Torture, Agony, Rage, Vicious, etc. XD

message 2942: by Joanna (new)

Joanna (joannaoj) | 394 comments @Lazuline wooow! Bones definitely is swoon-worthy! :)

hey guys is the Scarlet Wakefield series good?

message 2943: by Dija (new)

Dija @Stacia: I keep hearing about Jaimie, but the length of the books in that series is making me reluctant about starting it. Speaking of which, how long did it take you to finish Outlander? And Barrons definitely makes that list, I just hope there's tons of him in Shadowfever. >_< Never heard of Roarke, though.

@Joanna: I know, right? I love love LOVE the guy. <3

message 2944: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Jan 06, 2011 12:30AM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh whoops. I deleted that post by accident while scrolling between windows - I thought I was posting something in another group.

I'm still not done with Outlander. I've only read the first three. The books are so darn good and I really do love them, but they are really lengthy and you have to be in the mood to absorb lots of excess detail when you read them. The love story though is timeless and completely epic. I doubt there's much out there that can match Jamie and Claire's love story.

Book 4 is on a March challenge read for me, so I'll be buckling down with it then.

message 2945: by Joanna (new)

Joanna (joannaoj) | 394 comments @Lazuline yes! i read in Frost's blog that there would be 9 books for NH, but i don't know if NHW books are included there. because right now there are 6 NH books right? 4 NH and 2 NHW.

Barrons! i hope there would be more of him in Shadowfever!!!

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments I'm reading Nightshade... Does anyone actually like Shay? Because I'm just extremely annoyed by the guy. I know a lot of girls on here don't like him, but does anyone like him at all? lol I'm not even very far into it, so I'd imagine he probably gets even more annoying. How could Calla even be attracted to him? I mean, he must be super easy on the eyes or something.

Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer

Dija I doubt there's much out there that can match Jamie and Claire's love story.

I think that totally sealed it for me. Next free weekend I get, I'm starting Outlander. Quick question, though: if I skim through mos of the narration or details, will I be completely lost or will I still understand most of the story?

oh lol. i like Ren. :) i think Calla likes Shay because he's different from all her friends and also different from them literally.

message 2949: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments To me, he just seems really needy & weak. I don't see how that could be attractive... Of course, if you grew up where everyone could take care of themselves so easily, maybe that wouldn't be unattractive. I just want a man who can take care of himself, but if you are a paranormal being, maybe that's not as much of a turn on. :/

It does read more like historical fiction instead of historical romance because of the excess detail, but the love scenes are beautifully written when you get to them.

In book 1, I skimmed most of the clan history and family lineage stuff. It bored me to tears. I'm a fast reader, so I have no problems skimming things that get too lengthy or tedious.

However, I did really enjoy the little details like how Claire adapted to 16th century life, and what plants she would use to make medicines, etc. Those sort of details were interesting ones.

I find it interesting that people are either diehard fans of this series or completely the opposite. There is no in between for Outlander. Either you love it and are a fan for life, or you want to throw the books at the wall.
