I've heard everyone singing the White Cat praises around here for the past month or so, so while I was at the book store I decided it was time to get it. XD

I only made it halfway through Unholy Ghosts after several attempts to start over. It wasn't for me, BUT I know several people that love the series so I just chalk it up to my short attention span. I think her books are either ones that you love or just can't get into, sort of like Outlander (which I love, but this series is a very strong love or hate deal) or Parasol Protectorate (I liked the first book but had no desire to continue on to the next).

I can understand why you couldn't get into it; the action scenes do tend to be tedious and I'm pretty much skimming through all the narration, but I still find the book interesting because of the characters. But the ending always decides my overall rating of the book, so we'll see how it goes.

I really need to get around to reading Outlander, but the length of the books has me extremely reluctant to start it. And I also understand your feelings for Parasol Protectorate. It's one of those series where even if you don't read the rest of the books, you don't have this extreme urge to find out what happens. If you do read the next book in the series, however, it's fairly easy to get into it.

Some people complained about her drug use, but for some reason that didn't bug me at all. I liked that the girl was flawed.

Yes to all the White Cat love. I can't praise that book enough. The curse working world is so different and unusual, and Cassel is great (and I like Barron too for some reason).

So we got money into the bank and I ended up ordering for the Nook and am almost halfway into the book.

Can I just say this : heads are going to roll. I know of at least one person that's going to be emotional.

That is EXACTLY how I feel. Both Ethan and Sam sound like girls. Cassel does not.
