*Mrs. Brightside* I didn't finish the Shifters serious yet, as Stacia pointed out(; Ill probably finish it....next week? I don't know, I have loads of books to read!

message 2702: by Katty (new)

Katty | 418 comments and thanks Stacia!! I'll have a look at them :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I haven't read them yet because I hear the first 10 or so are low key, then it turns into full on orgy city from about book 10 on, so I've been sort of hesitant. I don't mind the occasional sex scenes in books, but don't usually prefer to read much erotica.

I don't like the idea of starting a series and quitting out mid way. It's why I haven't quit on HoN even when it started to tire me in the middle.

Speaking of HoN...might need a hookup tonight (if you know what I mean) or I'm gonna have to wait til Thurs. since I'm tapped out atm.

Joanna (joannaoj) | 394 comments @Britnee I thought you read Fever series already. lol. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY READ THEM! :)

@Mrs.Brightside you should finish it. it gets more exciting(Shifters series i mean.)

@Stacia lol. i'll read Chicagoland Vampires after Night Huntress. :) swear! haha! then hopefully one more series, then back to Dreamfever then HOPEFULLY Shadowfever is out by then, :)

@Katty oooh i never read BDB but i've read so many good things about it. and my bookstore has all the books i think.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Joanna, BDB folder. Just sayin...

lol ok. :) haha

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Just know that book 1 of Fever isn't as epic as the other three books. It takes book 2 to get you obsessed, but it's so worth it.

It's not really that bad, though it isn't for those who cringe easily.

I have that Book on my Kindle too.

I also have on my Kindle: Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul, #1) by C.L. Wilson Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance
The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1) by Gena Showalter Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill
These are all series I'm planning on starting, and if I like them then I'll keep reading the rest.
Im also super ready for these books to come out:

I know what you mean, it's kind of like the same with the dark hunter series, I think the book would be better without so many sex scenes, but i still love it though xP

I was told to treat the Anita Blake series as a 10 book series because it gets ridiculosly exagerated in the sex scenes.
I read book 1 Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton and it was ok, but if I keep reading I'll be sure to only read up to book 10! lol

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I don't mind sex scenes (in fact some of them are great like in BDB), I just don't want it where the whole book turns into that and the story gets lost.

I've only read 2 of the Dark Hunter books so far but they were good. Nothing too "out there." Similar to BDB in content.

message 2718: by Sara (new)

Sara | 114 comments There are 19 books, soon to be 20 books in the Anita Blake Series, and there is a lot of sex scenes, but like I said it's really not for people who cringe easily. And I already am invested in the series.

is the BDB series good then?

message 2720: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq @Stacia! Got a copy of Kenyon's League. My thoughts on Anita Blake the first books were OK, the latter ones focused on sex. Has anyone tried Hamilton's Gentry series? I thought those were good.. steamy though, very steamy.

@Joanna, hows NH? Bone FTW!

@Everyone: Read Grant's Gone and Hunger...bloody awesome.

message 2721: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Jan 03, 2011 07:23PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) @ S,

Yep. I know that feeling. :) I might give them a shot anyway after getting through some others.

@ Katty,

BDB is sweet, sexy and adventurous. Definitely more about the "hookup," but it's hard not to fall in love with the guys.

@ Isa,

I read Gone. I promise to get to Hunger at some point in the next month or two, but doing Chaos Walking first!
....

It's nice to see what everyone else is reading and liking. There haven't been a ton of "wow factor" YA PNR's coming out lately, especially now that VA is done (sigh) so we've turned to adult book talk unfortunately. Conversation will probably revolve around Awakened/HoN for a week or two though, so there's something to chat about.

Yup totally agree....

message 2726: by Isamlq (last edited Jan 03, 2011 07:37PM) (new)

Isamlq OK.. I shall preach about the wonders of Patrick Ness' Chaos Walking Trilogy. When I read it, a couple of weeks ago... I WAS FLOORED. So if you're looking for a a good great read, try Chaos Walking :) It's YA. It's dystopian. There's a bit that's romantic, but that isn't the focus.

Oh, but that's just me :) *teehee...*

message 2727: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Carina thats why I'm taking a break from 'em! Except I'm reading VA again..

@Isa I have the first one checked out

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I usually listen to Isa because we have very similar tastes in books. We both dabble in sci-fi/dystopians and light fantasy too. The only big differences we have I think is that she reads more contemporaries than I do and I read more historical romance, but other than that...we're almost identical.

message 2729: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I likes Historical Romance..Historical all.. *_*

Isamlq lol! So true Stacia! Might I add the last mostly historical book i read was OUTLANDERS... and that was quite some time ago... Oh wait, is Clockwork Angel historical? It didnt read that way to me :)

@Stacia & Britnee, any suggestions? (must broaden my horizons!)

@Joanna! Yes! mmm.. I feel like we're corrupting you with all these mostly adult PNR suggestions...

And WTH is taking so long? Shadow Fever, where art thou?!

And Eon Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman is good.
