I stay home with my 2 children. If I don't read something while they are watching tv or movies 90% of the time, I think I'd go nuts.

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments So am I the only person who is/has tried to read The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klause & is greatly disappointed? Who told me to read this? For one thing, it's all about DEATH. The last thing I need right now. I'm way too emotional to read it... Argh. I'm trying to push through. I should be done with Graceling tonight. I'm sad to see it over, but I'm also ready to be done, because I was listening to it with my husband & since he is gone, it feels weird to be finishing it. Anyway! I need to know what to read next!!!!

message 1676: by Carina (new)

Carina Im always beating my self up if I dont finish a book, or even if I dont like it that much. Im always trying to dig the positive things(even when I dont like it). I think the book isnt the problem, I am.

But Im always releaved when I hear comments when people say they couldnt read something or just didnt like it at all.
I know thats probably very crapy of me, but its nice to know Im not the only one.
I felt HORRIBLE when I put down The Forest of Hands and Teeth, but Im feeling better now. And I now I'll give that book another try. Just not now =D
(Sorry I know Im waaaaay of topic)

And F.Y.I., I could NOT finish a book! I was just written too awkward and I feel the same about the situation as you do!

I hope so, my mom got me the books and she really wants me to read them all

message 1683: by Nikki (new)

Nikki (nikkitysplitt) @Catherine I finished The Body Finder about an hour ago, and really liked it. I think there is a tv show similar to the plot general plot, but I don't watch much tv.

I went to look at the second book in the series' synopsis page, and it turns out you can sign up to win an ARC right now with Goodreads.

Desires of the Dead (The Body Finder, #2) by Kimberly Derting

message 1684: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 914 comments Just finished Thirteen Reasons Why ... SAD book. It was a fast, good read. I would recommend it! But if you don't want to read about a sad boy, a troubled girl, or problems that lead to a death ... then don't read this book. I liked it and thought it was VERY well written! And now I am about to pick up and start reading White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black .

I'm exactly the same way. I feel bad for not liking something, and I try to find likable things about a book I really don't like, and I push myself to read every book even if I don't like it. But there are certain books that feel like a waste of time, since there are soooo many other good books to be read out there.

message 1689: by Nikki (new)

Nikki (nikkitysplitt) I've given up on about 5 books this past year, and I dont care. If I feel like it, I can always try again another time, but I doubt I will. Some books I hate bc of the mood I'm in. But some I hate bc I can't stand the lifestyle they are trying to give me.
