Crystalclearwpg (chrystal-clear) | 12 comments lol....I didn't read any previous posts and remembered that I was on YA so i deleted my post and think i've confused some people...lol.
New to this site and still trying to get use to it.

I love the fact that I found gr though. I've never really been able to talk to people about what I read because they think that I read weird stuff. This is a god sent for me to be able to relate to others

I think I just found it..lol

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) The only people that I know who read irl don't read the same types of books that I do, so this site is nice.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Totally unrelated, but at some point I think we should cut out all of the individual book discussions. Maybe just have a topic for each series or something, and people can use spoiler tags if they're talking about something that's a big spoiler. Plus, that way we can add more series and there will still be less to scroll through I think. Maybe even alphabetize the series into folders like A-D, E-K, etc. so it's easy to find the series you're looking for?

It seems like the long series with 5 or more books don't get much traffic in each individual book.

No clue why I'm not mentioning this here and not in the suggestions topic. I'm just lazy tonight I guess.

lol! Im very distracted by GoT... I'm on the third episode and planning to watch all episodes this week... I've nothing handy to read right now... all this talk of Dorian has me really curious :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Game of Thrones?

At first I didn't get it but I do now. Yeah thats a good idea.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I really like the show. I'm only reading one book per season because I think they're doing each season based on one book and I don't want to know too far ahead who's going to live/die.

So I've read book 1 and will read book 2 right before season 2. The show does follow the book pretty closely, which is nice.

I love Khal Drogo and Jon Snow. :)

@Trouble4U: we talk about adult books all the time...
@Brit: Have you read her other series yet? The Succubus one?
@Stacia, I here there are supposed to be seven books in all.. is that true?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Goodreads is currently showing 7 in their database, but I don't know for sure. Book 5 was just released and I know that it had been a very long wait for fans between books 4 and 5.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Since you're watching GoT, now all you have to do is watch Sons of Anarchy too. :p

(can you tell these are my two favorite shows?)

I heard some random gossip on Martin not wanting to continue the sixth and seventh books... goodness, i hope that's not true!

I've seen trailers for that one, the biking thing put me off but if it's really good I'll give it a go :) How many seasons does Sons have?

message 8016: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Aug 21, 2011 11:47PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm sure that us girls go overboard talking about the show in the other group, but it's really good. The first episode is just okay, but it gets better and better with each episode. It's a big rollercoaster ride.

Seasons 2 and 3 are even better than the first season (I didn't like Tara in the first season). So far only 3 seasons, but the fourth is about to start in September, so you'll probably see Leea, Wendy and I going on about it again.

Brit...Georgina is even better, but I don't know if you'll like Seth or not. I love him because he's different, completely the opposite of every other guy you usually see.

message 8017: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) whos the other guy in succubus other than seth?

message 8018: by Isamlq (last edited Aug 21, 2011 11:52PM) (new)

Isamlq @Stacia, off topic.. I was so surprised to find out wendy and i were on the same book tour for a YA for adults book group. (small world, right?) And I will have to start Sons of Anarchy.

@ Brit, I wouldnt know if Succubus is better than the one youre reading now (haven't even started it ) but I can tell you Im looking forward to the sixth book of Georgie :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) His name is Roman, but it's not really a love triangle. She's only with him in book 1, then he goes away and comes back in book 4. I think he's only there because he was part of the love triangle in her original life (when she was mortal).

Roman's just another alpha male guy. Hot, but not original. Seth is awkward and shy, and wears crazy t-shirts and has messy hair, but he has beautiful eyes and a gives really intense looks. Then he starts breaking out of his shell in book 4 and you realize he's not as shy as you thought at first. He is one of my favorite unconventional guys ever.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh yeah? It's weird how things cross with people in these groups. I've run into people here that I knew back from Amazon under totally different names. It's a small world.

message 8021: by Isamlq (last edited Aug 21, 2011 11:59PM) (new)

Isamlq @Carina, where are you?

@Stacia, yup, it was for that kids book by Marchetta, the one with Jonah Grigg's little brother (so I had to sign up... right now, said book is in the States, I had it maybe two months ago(?))

@Brit, I like Seth.. I mean I really like Seth especially in the first two books :) I hope you read it too :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It has Jonah Grigg's little brother? Awww...I may have to check it out.

I need to read the Francesca book before Piper's Son right? Wendy told me that Ben is in PS.

I think I'm gonna head to bed though in a sec. It's 1 a.m here.

It was a kids book (Gorgon in the Gully) and Jonah made an teeny tiny appearance so I HAD to read it :)

Yes yes yes read Saving Francesca then The Piper's Son... I REALLY love The Piper's Son :)

Im headed out too :) TT

brittany (cirilla) If Roman is anything like Marc I hate him.

I will eventually read them.

message 8025: by Carina (new)

Carina Nice to see that you guys had one of your conversations again. Sorry to have missed it but I hit the pillows early last night.
I think I'm feeling a Georgina Kincaid read now(back to back hopefully since the last book is about to come out), since I won't be reading the Bloodlines Buddy read I have time to catch up on GK =)...I just have to steal back my kindle from my sis!

It does seem like we're some of the only people left here. Sometimes I'll see a new comment on a book topic that has been deserted for a while and JUMP to comment back to keep the conversation alive, lol.

Anyways, talk to you soon guys, I'm off to work =(

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Brittany wrote: "If Roman is anything like Marc I hate him.

That's fine because you should be liking Seth anyway.

Carina, if you do read Georgina, we'll be reading the last book soon. :)

message 8027: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) I get on GR everyday. I don't tend to comment on topics that haven't been active. I feel like I missed the boat on most of them.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I don't blame you. There's some series that I read and realize that I probably should have commented on them, but don't feel like it way after the fact.

message 8029: by brittany (last edited Aug 22, 2011 04:26PM) (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Stacia OMG I love Dorian! I seriously thought I'd be all for Kiyo but Dorian is way better so far.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) He's definitely got game.

message 8031: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Hes sexy.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) For some reason I didn't like Dorian in the first book, but now I don't remember why. I started liking him in book 2, and then he pissed me off again, then I liked him in book 3 again and then he pissed me off again.

Likewise for Kiyo. They both screw up a lot. A LOT. But I guess that's what makes the books interesting. Neither of the guys are really good.

message 8033: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I dunno i liked dorian instantly. Kiyo might grow on me but meh.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Nah. If you don't like him in the first book, it will only go downhill from there. You're in the Dorian camp. I did like Kiyo at first, but he lost a lot of points with how he was way too loyal to Maiwenn.

message 8035: by brittany (last edited Aug 22, 2011 08:03PM) (new)

brittany (cirilla) Oh that's good then. I really want to keep liking Dorian lol. At first I wasn't really into the book but since Dorian's appearance I really like it. I think I might buy the rest.

Do they get better?

I like. The. Individual. Book. Discussions. That is where I get my tbr list. I don't read the threads that pertain to indvidual books or series.

Oh! I have an ARC of that. Can't wait to see what you think (: *needs inspiration to read it*

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Okay, it's saying that it's on Netgalley, but I can't seem to find it. Where are you guys finding it at? I even did a search.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Teresa in Ohio wrote: "I like. The. Individual. Book. Discussions. That is where I get my tbr list. I don't read the threads that pertain to indvidual books or series. .."

Wait, I'm confused. You like when a series has 10 books and there's a separate topic for each book in the series?

Because I'm not sure how that's any easier to get tbr ideas if there's 10 topics for one series than it is if there's one topic for the whole series? To have so many topics just causes a lot of dead threads that don't get used, and a person has to do a lot of scrolling to find what they're looking for.

It got to the point where it felt redundant to post on each topic for book number 3, 4, 5, etc. that I liked each individual book when the series was still going. Pretty much most people talk about series when they start and when they finish.

If you're reading a book in the middle of a series, that's sort of what the "what are you reading now?" topic is for, I'd think? That's where most people reply anyway.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished Chain Reaction (Perfect Chemistry, #3) by Simone Elkeles and I know Brit's not going to believe me, but I think this one was even better than the first.

Alex is in this book a lot, so you get all of Luis's story and still have some of Alex too. Luis was so much like Alex, but even funnier. And his cockiness wasn't annoying, but really cute.

And Nikki is hands down my favorite of the three girls in the series.

About to start Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis

message 8042: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) No! Alex is the best! I wanna read it so bad BUT I won't be for awhile. It's too expensive. So I bought Thorn Queen instead.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I can't even put it into words. Luis is so much like Alex, but is even funnier and his cockiness is so cute because he's very playful with it, not really arrogant, but he is very easygoing.

message 8045: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Stop making me want to read it! D: I can buy 3 other books for the price of it.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Get a friggin ereader already.

message 8047: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) That would cost even more. I'll get one next year when I have a job. I wonder if ipod touches act as an e-reader.

Plus - ebooks here are the same price as normal books so its a waste of money.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Not if you know me. I have magic ways.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) You can read books on an ipod if you download a Kindle or B&N app.
