message 7708: by Mel (new)

Mel Reading Bad Taste in Boys (Kate Grable, #1) by Carrie Harris it's good so far.

message 7709: by Heather (new)

Heather McCorkle (heathermccorkle) I'm reading Gone (Gone, #1) by Michael Grant by Michael Grant and am really liking it so far. I'm surprised I haven't heard more about it around the Blogging community.

message 7710: by Pamela (new)

Pamela (waterspout) Heather, You probably haven't heard about it because there are a lot of dystopian books that are coming out this year and the next. :)

I picked this book up at the bookstore a little while ago, primarily because I heard about it on Goodreads. It sounds very intriguing and I'm glad you're enjoying it so far.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Brit, I read it and that shocked me too!

Heather, I've read Gone and while I liked it okay, I think there are other dystopia books I prefer. The series as a whole seems to be a love or hate series. I have friends who love it and others who can't stand Grant's writing style.

Carina Stacia and Brit
Read it too! Holy mole, I feel the same way.

It was all right :) Easy read.. not one of my favorites though. I found Sophia to be annoying rather then funny.

brittany (cirilla) @Stacia and Carina, totally didn't see it coming lol.

It was actually! Like when I first read it it was just a good read but I enjoyed it a lot more the second time around. I will eventually finish re-reading the whole series.

I hope that link works. The first time I posted it it said page not found B|

message 7730: by Mel (new)

Mel I just started Forever (Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater only 30 pages in:)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments Mel wrote: "I just started Forever (Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater only 30 pages in:)"

I know that everyone loves these books, but I just never really got in to the first one... I didn't hate it, I just thought it was OK. Do they get better as they go along?

message 7732: by Mel (new)

Mel I loved the first one but if you didn't really care for Sam and Grace, in the second book a new relationship is introduced between Isabel who was sort of a secondary character in Shiver and Cole, a troubled rockstar turned werewolf. I personally, prefer this relationship because it so very flawed and interesting and both of them are narrating chapters so you get more of a sense of who they are. So perhaps this maybe something you may like:)

me too. I tried so hard and could just not get into the first one either.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Shiver was only 3 stars for me. I thought it was very overhyped. I liked Linger better because of Cole.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ Started this last night:
Starcrossed (Starcrossed, #1) by Josephine Angelini

So far, I am really liking the story.

message 7736: by Schay (new)

Schay Started The Goddess Test (Goddess Test #1) by Aimee Carter .
I'm not liking Kate Winters at all. She's a bit too passive for my tastes, and Henry's a manipulative prick (Aren't they always?)
I hope it gets better...

message 7737: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments I'll have to give Linger a shot then, because I didn't hate the first book, I just wasn't too thrilled to read it.

message 7738: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Jul 24, 2011 03:48PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I thought Shiver was very slow. There was a lot of down time where nothing was going on. Still haven't been motivated to read Forever, but I've also been doing a lot of buddy reads and stuff like that lately instead.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Just finished Heist Society (Heist Society, #1) by Ally Carter and the second half was much better than the slow first half. I really like Hale, he's the hotness.

About to re-read Succubus on Top (Georgina Kincaid, #2) by Richelle Mead with friends for a buddy read and am excited because I love the series. Also going to start Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Beth Durst sometime in the next day or two with Britnee.

Go Carina!

Just finished Crushed and it was awesome. It's about three teen witches using powers to make boys do what they want. Then Kristen picks the wrong boy to mess with. Realy enjoyed it.
