Isamlq I am now juggling The Boy Book A Study of Habits and Behaviors, Plus Techniques for Taming Them (Ruby Oliver, #2) by E. Lockhart and Bloodspell (Bloodspell #1) by Amalie Howard ... Might I add, I am a BIG fan of Ruby Oliver's humor. :)

Danyiele Kibby (shikamaruluv) | 15 comments Just finished reading Mister Monday and will read Maximum Ride : The Angel Experiment.
Does anyone kno some good books that are like Percy Jackson and Harry Potter without romance?? I am soooooo open for suggestions.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Percy Jackson and HP type middle grade books? Isn't the Artemis Fowl series similar? I haven't read them, but always assumed that they had some similarities by the descriptions.

If you don't mind the books being a touch older than middle grade (but still YA), I'd go with the Maze Runner trilogy. There is an attraction between the main character and a girl, but it's very downplayed and not mentioned much at all. The emphasis is on surviving the maze and a has a bit of adventure to it, although it's not funny like a Percy Jackson type book because it's dystopian.

message 7611: by Danyiele (new)

Danyiele Kibby (shikamaruluv) | 15 comments It doesn't have to be middle grade just not too much romance.

message 7612: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) The first Artemis Fowl book doesn't have romance, but that is all I've read. Try Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians (Alcatraz, #1) by Brandon Sanderson because it is so funny. I've read the first two.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Carina, I ended up getting bored with the book I was reading last night and picked up Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul, #1) by C.L. Wilson on a whim to skim through a little, just to go right to the parts that are my favorite in the book.

I'm falling in love all over again. I've missed these books. :) Rain and Ellie are awesome, but I have a weakness for Bel the most, and Kieran too.

message 7621: by Carina (new)

Carina I can not believe how fast I fell in love with this book. I was hooked by page 5 I think. I already have a soft spot for Bel too Stacia.
This has to be a Fantasy book at its best! I can't believe it took me so long to pick it up...

Danyiele Kibby (shikamaruluv) | 15 comments Runemarks by Joanne Harris Hello people can u give me some book suggestions because i'm running low on the books.

message 7627: by Debra Jo (new)

Debra Jo Reads (debrajo) Shoot Danyiele.... I have hundreds on my to-read list. You should check it out. People usually ask how I am ever gonna read all of those and I simply answer I am not. I usually just add books there that spark my interest so that when I need a read idea I have a short list instead of searching B&N and other websites blindly. I also do that with sample books on my Nook. I am currently just starting The Body Finder (The Body Finder, #1) by Kimberly Derting and it is very interesting so far. I cannot wait to get into the core of this one.

message 7628: by Debra Jo (new)

Debra Jo Reads (debrajo) I have also read 1-7 of the Witches of Santa Anna. Good quick reads that keep you wanting more. Easy characters to associate with and it actually has a few twists. I can't wait to read the rest of the books 8-11. They are very short books but worth it in my opinion. Not prize winning books but fun.
