Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) That was fast! Book is CRAZY, isn't it?

It's not bad so far. I have to finish it by tomorrow.

Those are cute and sweet little books. Good for people who like true love stories.

And to think I was going to get them out at the library.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh shush Brit. Even with all the hardcore stuff I read, even I get in the mood for cute love stories sometimes. You should try it, Ms. Jaded.

message 7409: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Who's Ms Jaded?

Ba, cute love stories creep me out. I need drama. But not teenage angst.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) You are.

I rarely read cute love stories anymore, but I liked those. They weren't spectacular or anything, but they were short books and easy to read quickly.

message 7411: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I don't even know what that means

The only kind of book I want now is an unbelievably awesome one. Because Fallen Angel put me off reading. Again.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) What are you in the mood for?

message 7413: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Something like Fever. I'm actually re-reading it. Me and Jess are just talking about how you would pronounce K'Vruck.

message 7414: by Carina (new)

Carina Holy crap, for a second I thought you were asking 'who are you in the mood for?'
Lol, sorry!

Ohgod, LOL.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I think Kay Vruck?

Haha, that reminds me of that Ben Barnes interview when the chick asked, "who do you do on the first date?"

Closest story arc to Fever that I can think of is Georgina Kincaid because of the mystery surrounding the contracts.

That sounds better. I can't say it any other way.

Oh I saw that! Hilarious.

I think I might buy the first book to that series when I get some money. Or the First grave on the right book.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I will be sad if you like Roman. Huge Seth fan.

message 7419: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Stacia *effing sentimental right now wrote: "I will be sad if you like Roman. Huge Seth fan."

Which one is more bad-ass?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Roman, but he's a psycho killer. Seth is pretty boring in the first couple of books. He doesn't get to be really hot til like book 4, but I knew he was going to find his inner badass eventually so I was rooting for him.

Although, I'm probably more curious if you'll like Kiyo or Dorian in Dark Swan. My opinion changed with every book. I liked Kiyo in book 1, was split between Kiyo and Dorian in book 2, and liked Dorian in book 3.

Lol. So hes a baddie? The name Seth is so hot. The name itself makes me want him.

Depends who is more bad-ass. I'm in a bad-ass guy mood. I'm loving Barrons so much more this time round.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Hey, are you able to locate Jess right now? She should be up from sleeping, right? Can you track her down on Facebook or something? I don't have FB.

I want you to ask her if she's Kiyo or Dorian?

message 7423: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Yeah, I'm talking to her right now. Kind of. Okay, I'll ask. Be back in a jiffy.

message 7424: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Jun 21, 2011 12:32AM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) oh, and no. Seth is an author who can't carry a conversation. Like I said...kind of boring in the first couple of books. He's not badass at all. He sort of grows into himself and becomes hotter in the later books when he starts to go after what he wants. It's kind of a growth over time thing.

There aren't really any badasses in GK. There is a demon who looks like John Cusak and a sarcastic angel though.

Darnit. Never mind. Just read Dark Swan first. I like GK better, but if you want a badass, you'll probably like Kiyo, even if he pissed me off multiple times.

Ah, right. We'll see.

I won't read it yet then..and I probably shouldn't. I'm too poor to buy the whole series

I will then. I'll buy it off the book depository because its super cheap. Hes Asian too. A huge bonus.

message 7426: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Oh and Jess hasn't replied yet

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Dorian reminds me a little of V'lane. I can't stop flip flopping between those two. They both amuse and irritate me for different reasons. They both screwed with Eugenie multiple times, but sometimes I think Dorian's the more honest of the two because he screws you over then says oh well about it.

So yeah...I'm off to go read before bed. Let me know what she says anyway.

message 7428: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Ilieshehas.

She says she doesn't know because she hasn't read it. Wait now she says shes read the first volume of the graphic novel and that as of now she likes Kiyo because hes hot.

Isamlq I've been reading a lot over the last two days. Unfortunately, I really can't post any of the titles I've been reading... (teehee) To kickstart my YA reads I'm going with You Are Here by Jennifer E. Smith

I LOVED The Darkest Powers Series. It was my branch out series from the whole vampire thing. It's got a lot of emotion, "young" romance not anything steamy, and a few twists and turns. Very easy reads and very entertaining.

Debra Jo Reads (debrajo) Diary of a Mad Fat Girl by Stephanie McAfee
I am saying this book is amazing.... not because it is a Noble Prize winning piece but because I haven't read a book that made me laugh so much!!! This book was blunt and comical. Perfect for the 30 and 40 something crowd. In a nut shell it is about 3 friends that get into crazy ass situations trying to prove one of the 3's husband is lying cheating snake. It made me think of some of the crazy off kilter situations my friends and I have gotten ourselves into. It is only 125 pages on the nook and only .99!!! I totally need a good laugh and a break from the dark fantasy and dystopian novels and this exceed the task at hand!!!!

Soooooo.... what to read now????

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) @ Jessica,

Not sure where the post you mentioned it is at, but did I see you were going to read Shifters? That series is a good one. :) Hope you like it.

Debra wrote: "How is Necromancer? I have it but haven't read it..."

It's really good so far! I have not had a quiet house in days so every time I go to read, something interrupts me. I had to put it down to start Feed (Newsflesh, #1) by Mira Grant because Carina and I, as well as a few other friends from another group are doing it as a buddy read.

Isamlq wrote: " Unfortunately, I really can't post any of the titles I've been reading..."

Oh? Now I'm curious.

This book is so slow... this is the 2nd time I've picked it up and 2nd time I want to put it down. I have a feeling it is going to pick up at some point so I am trying my hardest to get through it. I think this maybe one of those books I can only read in steps.

message 7441: by Carina (new)

I'm starting Feed Feed (Newsflesh, #1) by Mira Grant tonight too. Hold Me Closer Necromancer was really good. Sequel?

I'm curious too Isa....

@Stacia, lol! I poked into one of the folders in the other group and went through some of the recs. I didn't think I could blush as much as I did while reading them; I will say that the books I picked read along the lines if BDB only much more.

I CANT wait to hear what you guys think of Feed (I did the audiobook right before reading the sequel and that was an even better experience.)

message 7444: by Isamlq (last edited Jun 21, 2011 03:39PM) (new)

Isamlq @Carina, Im considering reading some of your recs by Hart (broken i think.) Oh btw, there's a free companion novella to Hold me Closer by McBride's too.

@Jojo, you should def read it... it's got a male protag, edgy dialogue and good solid writing :)

Thr protagonist was very real and down to earth. The consept felt fresh and cool. I would definetly recommend it .

Yup, Broken is Great Isa. I really want someone I know to read it so I can talk about it more. I read it not so long ago, and I'm already planning on re-reading it!

message 7446: by Carina (new)

Carina Feed should be interesting cause it will be my first Zombie book if I'm not mistaken.(Not counting The Forest of Hands and Teeth, cause I didn't finish that one)

message 7447: by Carina (new)

Carina I want to listen to an Audiobook but my library doesnt have a big selection. Any suggestions?

message 7448: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq I've done a couple but only loved these three:
The Piper's Son by Marchetta was great :)
Feed by Grant came more alive for me on audio.
And the first HP books on audio were well done too. :)

message 7449: by Carina (new)

Carina I'll have to look for The Piper's Son. I was planning to read something by Marchetta soon anyways. =)

The The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta audio version was good~ great pacing, excellent accent. :) But if you read that, read Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta too. :)
