Carina I decide to force(Yes, I said FORCE) my self to read some books that I had on hold at the library. I picked up: The Awakening The Awakening (Darkest Powers, #2) by Kelley Armstrong , Take Me There Take Me There by Carolee Dean , Anna and the French Kiss Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins , Her and Me and You Her and Me and You by Lauren Strasnick and Bitten Bitten (Women of the Otherworld, #1) by Kelley Armstrong .
I think I'll read Anna first and then go from there. I hope this slaps me out of my reading funk *cautiously hopefull*

@Carina, I read your review on Broken and that looks interesting. Been awhile since I read something steamy :-)

I also saw Bumped at the library and was gonna get it but decided to do it next time. Hope you like it though.

Dylvi | 5 comments Just finished Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter , and it was fantastic!! Really inspirational, and so sweet..!

Now for The Bad Beginning (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #1) by Lemony Snicket ! Which I read years ago, but wanted to read again while I wait for my Library book to arrive :D!!

message 7118: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) I'm reading Huntress by Malinda Lo . I'm not in a reading funk, thank goodness. I like to choose books by the cover (please don't throw things at me). I don't even read what they are about most of the time, which makes it so fun. Huntress really shocked me and I had to read the summary after I was 50 or so pages in b/c it doesn't follow the usual YA formula.

message 7121: by Carina (new)

Carina Isa I'll have to try it one of these days then =)

In the mean time I'm reading The Awakening The Awakening (Darkest Powers, #2) by Kelley Armstrong , in my effort to force my 'reading mojo' to return already!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Still reading A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin and Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely, #1) by Melissa Marr and will probably start Overprotected by Jennifer Laurens in the morning.

message 7123: by Carina (new)

Carina If you end up liking the GoT book, I'll have to read it.

message 7124: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Stacia you better not like Keenan!

message 7125: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments Thanks, Catherine, glad you enjoyed it.

I gave up on 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover (Jazz Tremaine #1) by Linda Wisdom and started Wings (Wings, #1) by Aprilynne Pike Got totally hooked on wings straight away. Although I can see straight off why in the Movies thread there is so much dislike for Miley playing Laurel. How on earth do they think that that's a good match??

I totally enjoyed Wicked Lovely. It was my first Faire Folk book I read. I will be honest, after book 3, I did get bored with the series. I do have Radiant Shadows and plan to read it as some point. I hope you enjoy it!!!

I have the first two books in the Morganville series but have never read them. How is the series?? Is it typical YA vampire?? I have gotten a lil burned out on that so I have moved on to other styles of YA but kept those on the back burner just in case.

It's really good! I recommend it to anyone. Every one ends with a cliffhanger, so really it's kind of like one continuous book. I think it's different than most YA vampire.... But that's just me.

Ceri (maxcellwire) | 22 comments I've just finished Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
It's absolutely brilliant, as are TMI, and I especially love Will!

message 7133: by Carina (new)

Carina Liassa, CA is great and Will is awesome too. Glad to have another Will fan around!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Debra wrote: "I totally enjoyed Wicked Lovely. It was my first Faire Folk book I read. I will be honest, after book 3, I did get bored with the series...."

It was about a 3.5 ish read for me, which means I enjoyed it enough but wasn't in love with it. I'll probably read more of the books at some point, but not right now.

Carina, I'm liking GoT, but have to say that watching the show first has helped a LOT with understanding what's going on because there are SO many different rotating viewpoints. I may not have liked it as much if I hadn't seen the show first.

Also going to be reading A Lot Like Love by Julie James . I've heard nothing but great things about this author. It seems like most people give her books 4 and 5 stars, so I'm excited.

I agree with you so much on that! I definitely don't see Miley in any way being like Laurel, Laurel is delicate, pretty, and BLONDE. While Miley is more teenage rebellion pop start BRUNETTE. Haha, so yea i don't know how on Gods green earth why the movie people feel that Miley would be a great Laurel...?

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments Finished Lord of Misrule (The Morganville Vampires, #5) by Rachel Caine (all since waking up this morning) & am now starting Carpe Corpus (The Morganville Vampires, #6) by Rachel Caine . I really love this series.

lol I know! I love it too. I had already read the first three books, but got involved with other books. One of my friends is reading the series, so when I finished all of my challenges this month & the group read, I decided to start reading Morganville again with her. She's on Kiss Of Death & I'm trying to catch up. It's not going to happen though. lol

message 7139: by Carina (new)

I have to add this series to my to-read again...

Pamela (waterspout) Word of advice: Read The Vampire Diaries book first before the TV series. I've noticed a lot of people didn't like the books after watching the show.

message 7142: by Jacquel (new)

Jacquel (clairevioletthorpe) Finally finished up Marked (House of Night, #1) by P.C. Cast ; hope to finish up Night World, No. 1 Secret Vampire; Daughters of Darkness; Spellbinder (Night World, #1-3) by L.J. Smith this weekend.

I really can't stand the way the books are written. I read the first one right before the show started, because I always like to read the book before the movie/TV show & I just couldn't get into it. I've had the second book for about two years & haven't even touched it. Do they get better as they go along?

message 7144: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Catherine they don't. The books are nothing compared to the series :/

message 7145: by Pamela (new)

Pamela (waterspout) @Catherine I agree. VD was sort of my first books so I just kept on reading and reading. When the shadow souls came out, I was tempted to put it on hold. But, for me, i liked the first four books.

Oh yeah, there's a new TV series, The Secret Circle. It is actually a book turned into a show and the book's written by L.J. Smith.
