brittany (cirilla) WOO good on you Alison!! I'm so happy for you (: I really wanna read your book :// I know you gave it to me but just after you did my computer died D:

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments I am currently reading The Amulet: A Faedra Bennett Custodian Novel AND Halfway to the Grave. I totally made a mistake in starting both of these at once because now I can't decide which to read! Both are so good, so fast!

I finished Generation Dead... It was good & I really want to know what happens next, but it felt drawn out to me. I always think that though, so maybe I'm just crazy.

The Amulet A Faedra Bennett Custodian Novel by Alison Pensy Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I felt the same way about Generation Dead. Overall, I liked the book, but it had a lot of filler/slow parts. The end was very good and I said the same thing about wanting to know what came next, yet I never picked up the second book. Hmmm...someday.

Grats Alison too. :) That's awesome news.

I want to read that, but my library doesn't own it. I am reading The Vespertine (The Vespertine, #1) by Saundra Mitchell while I wait on other books to come in. I have to review it.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ I think I will read this book next:
Bumped (Bumped, #1) by Megan McCafferty

message 7009: by Garrett (new)

message 7013: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Nearly finished Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood by Eileen Cook

Then going to read The Exiled Queen (Seven Realms, #2) by Cinda Williams Chima omgggg.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Put Chicagoland on hold because i'm about to start the buddy read of First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones and don't feel like reading two of the same type of book back to back.

Also finally reading The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan after having for all of these months and it's good, but not as good as Percy Jackson.

And plan on finishing up a craaaazy good taboo book tonight that is way too out there for this group but I'm happy a few people convinced me to read it because I'm hooked.

message 7015: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) STACIA tell me how that first book is I wanna buy it but I'm not sure if its good yet.

You love taboo books don't you.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) This one has been rec'd to me by a lot of people, so I finally caved to see why everyone liked it so much. There's a newer version that cut out the raciest stuff that I'll probably read after to compare, because I hear it has a happier ending.

It wasn't the best book to start when my husband was working out of town though.

It was a big let down to me. i didnt even finish it I just skipped to the end. It was a let down because I really can't stand Kygo. Hes so nasty. And something at the end pisses me off.

Isa,

Book 1 was not as good as the rest, so since you liked the first, I'm pretty sure you'll like the others. Books 4 and 5 are the best.

Ive been sneaking in a couple of pages from the second book... IMO Mead's adult stuff seem better than her VA... (I might be jumping the gun here..)

Im really enjoying EONA too!

message 7025: by Casey (new)

Casey (caseyjohnson432) | 41 comments I need a light fun read since i didn't get to read What Happened to Goodbye after all :/ and I've been reading some pretty heavy stuff lately, so i kinda just want a nice, fun light read..anyone got anything in mind?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Going over my list and only picking out the ones which are light and easy to read without much drama...

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins light, fun, cute, romantic, amusing.

Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins also fun/humorous and a little bit romantic. Anna's a little bit better, but this one is almost as good.

The Percy Jackson series is very light and fun as well.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Isamlq wrote: "Ive been sneaking in a couple of pages from the second book... IMO Mead's adult stuff seem better than her VA... (I might be jumping the gun here..)..."

I think VA got more 4 and 5 star ratings for the individual books (since the first couple of Georginas were about 3.5), but overall, Georgina ended up becoming my favorite after I read the most recent books. The 4 and 5 star books in Georgina are better than the 4 and 5 star VA books if that makes sense.

You're making perfect sense:) Your comparisons of books 4 and 5 have me really excited and I think Im going to read them back to back if I find the time to spare this week...

Book Sushi (BookSushi) | 97 comments im busy reading The Goddess Test (Goddess Test #1) by Aimee Carter and Son of a Witch (Wicked Years, #2) by Gregory Maguire . Im really enjoying the Goddess Test as i absolutely love the greek mythology. i started reading Illusions (Wings, #3) by Aprilynne Pike but have had to stop and put it aside. i just can seem to get into it which is a bummer as i really did enjoy reading the first two.

Isamlq OK Im a super fan of Eona The Last Dragoneye (Eon, #2) by Alison Goodman right now. Im surprised by how much I liked it! And to continue the books-with-more-romance-kick that I'm on, I'm reading Succubus on Top (Georgina Kincaid, #2) by Richelle Mead and maybe even the third book.

Stacia, your recs are awesome... Georgina is a riot!
Brit, I see why you hate Kygo... :) Have you started the georgina series yet?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Nothing wrong with liking HoN.

I like HoN, but more as a guilty pleasure because the writing is terrible, but the story is still fun. I keep up with the series now more out of wanting to see it through to the end. I just don't understand the fangirl thing with the books either. They're fast and easy reads, but there are so many other better books, that I don't ever rec them either. They're only about 3 star reads for me (although the most recent book did get a rare 4 star).

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Catherine,

If you still have access to my folder, you should be able to find NH in there. You may have to use Calibre to convert though.
