Naynay (bookmunster) | 20 comments I'm just about to start The Ghost and the Goth it looks cute.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Firelight (Firelight, #1) by Sophie Jordan

I was supposed to have started it already, but got held up on another group read.

Hex Hall still hasn't come it at the library for me. I have the feeling it's going to end up being another one that I have to buy to get it finished by the end of the month.

message 664: by Naynay (new)

Naynay (bookmunster) | 20 comments I'm also reading Elixir (Elixir, #1) by Hilary Duff because it was at my book store today and they had signed copies. Haha, it's surprisingly good. I didn't realize Hilary Duff could write.

message 665: by Carina (new)

Carina @Janet I just read the description for Elixir and it actually sounds really interesting. Keep posting updates to let us know how good it is =D

Naynay (bookmunster) | 20 comments So far I actually really like the book, I'm only on chapter 4 though, so I guess we'll see.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Can't wait to get Scorch Trials in the mail. I'm hearing that it's REALLY good. Plus, I'm antsy to start in on discussion threads about it.

message 672: by Carina (new)

Carina Starting Beautiful Darkness and Frostbite (Vampire Academy #2)

message 673: by *Mrs. Brightside* (new)

*Mrs. Brightside* How can you guys read more than 1 book at the same time??

message 674: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Oct 12, 2010 10:55PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I tend to have a "day" selection and a "late night" selection. Usually my day selection is something YA (often more action or story based), and my night selection (after the rest of the house is in bed) tends to lean more toward adult or steamier type reads.

No clue why, but I stick to this pattern a lot. I like to read the steamy or romantic stuff before bed.

Like right now I'm doing Beautiful Darkness (Caster Chronicles, #2) by Kami Garcia (YA) and Ravenous (The Dark Forgotten, #1) by Sharon Ashwood (adult).

message 675: by *Mrs. Brightside* (new)

*Mrs. Brightside* Ohh..okay. I actually like your method. I might start using it XD

message 679: by Carina (new)

Carina Finished Frostbite and loved it, will probably start Shadow Kiss(VA #3) this afternoon, if I can wait that long, lol.
But I also gotta make some time for Beautiful Darkness, Im just hoping it gets better fast(Im only on page 34 so I dont want to judge....yet haha)

message 680: by Naynay (new)

Naynay (bookmunster) | 20 comments I finished Elixir,
Since a lot of you asked how it was I'll just tell you what i thought of it.

I thought the book was good, it was well-written, but it was kind of predictable and had a lot of elements that are used in a lot of books, I'd still recommend it though it has romance and a supernatural element, with some suspenseful parts.

message 681: by Stacy (new)

Stacy | 75 comments Just finished Hex Hall and loved it can not wait for more. Tonight I will be starting Fallen heard mixed reviews on this one so I thought I would try it and see for myself.(hope it is good)

Jean Valjean (OG 2010) (courfeyrack) Stacy, Fallen is AWESOME! Let me know what you think. =]

Love Hex Hall

Fallen is good though dry n some parts Torment the second book is much better!

Jean Valjean (OG 2010) (courfeyrack) Almost done with Beautiful Darkness (Caster Chronicles, #2) by Kami Garcia and just about to start The Forest of Hands and Teeth (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #1) by Carrie Ryan =]

message 685: by *Mrs. Brightside* (new)

*Mrs. Brightside* Have fun with thaaaaat..haha.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) You're making me scared to read Forest of Hands and Teeth...I have to read it for my YA Sci-Fi and Fantasy group - it's one of their October reads (plus I piggybacked it onto the challenge for this group).

Did you really hate it?

message 687: by *Mrs. Brightside* (new)

*Mrs. Brightside* Nooooo. Lol, it was just depressing!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) My older kid stole this and Unwind from my stack. I'm curious to see if he likes it. He might like it better than I do, since he's a huge fan of the Gone series and that one is kind of dark.

Jean Valjean (OG 2010) (courfeyrack) Crap. I keep hearing that it's ridiculously depressing.

message 690: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Oct 13, 2010 03:25PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) He told me that Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman is pretty interesting.

I probably shouldn't tell him that I like the idea of harvesting his body parts though.

Sorry, so not related to Forest of Hands and Teeth. I am on the derailing train today.

Jean Valjean (OG 2010) (courfeyrack) Holy craparoni. I got through part of Unwind and wanted to die. That was one I actually couldn't finish because it felt like there wasn't an end in sight.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh yeah? Hmm...maybe I'll be rethinking this.

Jean Valjean (OG 2010) (courfeyrack) It's interesting, and well written, but it was sad.

message 694: by *Mrs. Brightside* (new)

*Mrs. Brightside* Hmmm... I kinda wanted to read tha book too.

Jean Valjean (OG 2010) (courfeyrack) There are a lot of 'wait wtf?!' moments. I cried at one point. Lol.

message 696: by *Mrs. Brightside* (new)

*Mrs. Brightside* OMG, seriously?! Holy crap, lol.

Jean Valjean (OG 2010) (courfeyrack) Well, maybe not like CRIED, but I shed a tear or two.. Lol.

message 698: by *Mrs. Brightside* (new)

*Mrs. Brightside* Just finished Impulse (Impulse, #1) by Ellen Hopkins ..now that was depressing. Very sad. But somehow.. I dont know, I liked it a lot! I'm going to start on Rebel Angels (Gemma Doyle, #2) by Libba Bray tomorrow

The second Impulse comes out next year!

Jean Valjean (OG 2010) (courfeyrack) Oh wow, I didn't know she was writing a sequel to that!
