i read it because i have been waiting so many years for it. i was a little annoyed because i re-read the series last year so that i could read shadow souls but the whole Return sub-series just annoys me. Im reading Midnight so hopefully she concludes this dumb spinoff. im just disapointed that the books dont line up to the tv series. tv series is way better!

Did you hire someone to do your cover for you?"

I wish :-) No, I just played around on Photoshop until I could get something that looked remotely like a book cover LOL!!! It can be frustrating sometimes because I didn't know anything about photoshop when I bought it and everything has been trial and error...error mostly :-)

I have changed the book cover for the Amulet, basically by getting a couple of pictures and overlaying them and doing some stuff with the artistic options on PS. I'll upload the new cover when I upload the next book.

For the 2nd one, which is on my website now www.alisonpensy.com (projects) I am lucky enough to have a friend who is a high school art teacher and one of her students loves to draw dragons. I asked if she would like to do it, and I would mention her name wherever I could to promote her work. I told her what I was looking for and I think she did an amazing job for me, drawing the basic dragon and staff. I added all the other bits with PS.

message 6614: by Carina (new)

Carina I knew that was the reason!! lol. But hey, who can blame you. Any resemblance to V'lane is gonna attract people!

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments Argh! I am so tired of books that I just can't get into so it takes me weeks to read them. And I feel like I have to read them because I'm so far into them. I hope to finish Night Star tonight or tomorrow so that I can actually get into a book that excites me... I'm so behind. Like, a month behind. I did finish A Touch Mortal & it was really good. Has anyone else read it yet? What should I read next so that I can get back into reading? Night Star has practically robbed me of my will to live, let alone read. :/

Night Star (The Immortals, #5) by Alyson Noel A Touch Mortal by Leah Clifford

Plus, I miss the group. :(

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Awwww wb Catherine! We were just talking about you and a couple of other people the other day, wondering where people have disappeared to. If someone goes missing for a few days I start to wonder if they're okay.

Is A Touch Mortal a stand alone book or is it number one in a series?

I push this book way too much probably, but Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins is adorable, very easy to read, and has a cute love story. It's very fresh and almost innocent, but really fun. Plus, I'm seriously enamored with St. Clair.

Did you get CoFA yet?

Pushing that one will never be enough! It's a feel-good book :D

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I smiled a lot while reading it. And swooned a lot over St. Clair, so it was a win-win.

message 6620: by Mel (new)

Mel I read Anna and The French Kiss too and I thought it was super cute. It's perfect for those rainy stuck inside days when you want to read something light and happy. I remember reading this one during that snow storm leading up to the Superbowl when it was too cold to do anything. This book was perfect for that.

Sill reading Little Women and Werewolves by Porter Grand and I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies, #1) by Pittacus Lore

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm curious to know how different Little Vampire Women by Lynn Messina and Little Women and Werewolves by Porter Grand are!

Little Women and Werewolves deals with the March sisters and their werewolf-infested town, while Little Vampire Women has the March sisters as vampires themselves.

brittany (cirilla) STACIA I think you need to drill into Jess's head for me how she needs to read the Fever series first!

message 6630: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq @Brit, Im with you! Jess, you MUST read the series Fever.. if only to meet Barrons and Vlane :)

Im reading: Stolen A letter to my captor by Lucy Christopher ... (I had a hard time putting together a list so I just forgot that and picked randomly...) @Stacia, I've heard this has been compared to Forbidden in terms of mood. *excited*

message 6631: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Apr 16, 2011 11:31PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Britnee...I don't have a FB account because I'm purposely trying to avoid certain people in my life, hah. Tell her to get her butt on GR. You can tell her for me that she should read the books though!

Isa,

I downloaded that one a while back and have wanted to read it because apparently... along with incest, polygamy, and student-teacher relationships, I also have a fascination with Stockholm Syndrome (and Munchausen Syndrome as well). No, I swear, I'm not a twisted person. I just have this thing about seeing what makes others tick (or fall apart). I'm not sure why I never got around to reading it now.

Funny thing is, I'm actually about to read a book with a subject matter of a kidnapper and hostage but it's umm...sort of extremely graphic and scary and not for this group at all.

message 6633: by Carina (new)

Carina @Stacia and Isa
Thanks to you guys, I now look forward to reading books that will push my boundaries, like Forbidden(<----Super Amazing book!). So I will look forward to checking out Stolen and Comfort Food...

message 6634: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Apr 16, 2011 11:52PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh my...I wasn't recommending the book. I haven't read it yet. Two people on my friends list have given it 5 stars but they both read very adult books. It's almost scaring me because it looks pretty out there, but I'm also curious.

message 6635: by Carina (new)

Carina I read the description (and the warning) and I'm curious to see how far I can push my self to read really 'out there' books. I never would have thought that I was gonna love (and sympathize) with Forbidden, but look at me now. It turned out to be one of my fav books of all time.

message 6636: by Carina (new)

Carina But I will REALLY be looking forward to reading your review on it Stacia...

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) How's Something Like Fate?

message 6638: by Carina (new)

Carina Its ok....I havent read much cause I put it down to finish reading Forbidden on the computer yesterday, and I didnt read at all today(probably wont have time to read tomorrow/today either) but if I'm right, it will be kinda predictable from what I've read.

message 6639: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Apr 17, 2011 12:15AM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I have it, so if it's any good I'll have to check it out.

He has to be one of my favorite guys ever now. He's probably second favorite for YA at the moment I think...

message 6640: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Stacia oh yeah I meant that. That next time she comes on here you'll get her! I already told her you would , haha.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Is she ever coming back?

message 6642: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I don't know I was talking to her and she was out clubbing. I asked her if there was a balcony but there was only a garden. Sigh.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Why is she on FB if she's out clubbing? I'd be dancing up on a hot guy. Man, I don't miss the constant bar/club scene, but I sure have a lot of fun memories.

message 6644: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Eh I dunno. Maybe there isn't any hot guys there.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Then you dance up on your girl friends.

message 6646: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Maybeh. Eek clubbing sounds yuck anyway.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Really? It was a lot of fun when I used to go. Most of the clubs/bars we went to, we knew a lot of the people that hung out there. My friend Stacy and I had one local club that we went to every Thursday and we had a lot of friends who also went on the same night so it was like this big party every week.

I just don't miss it now because I partied from about the age of 15 into my mid 20's almost non-stop. I really like being a homebody now.

message 6648: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Its probably alot different now. I dunno. Theres probably alot of smelly people. And they play horrible music.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Do you guys have underage clubs there? We had an all ages club (well like 16 and up) about a half hour from my house, and my friends and I would go before we were old enough to get into real clubs, but it was sort of a good/bad thing because there were cute guys our age, but also a lot of creepy older guys would hang out there too. Uh, no thanks pedos.

message 6650: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I don't know. I've never looked into it I'd really rather stay home. People here are way too loony. EW! Pedos ;~;
