OHMYGOSH I love the Allana series!!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I know someone in this group has read Shade (Shade, #1) by Jeri Smith-Ready and I'm looking for an opinion on it. I realized that I have an arc for Shift (Shade, #2) by Jeri Smith-Ready and want to know if I should read Shade and move on to this one.

message 6555: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) STACIA - Jess wanted me to tell you Fever series arrived to her yesterday.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) At this rate, she'll finish just in time for the spin-offs. Tell her I'm glad she got her books though. :)

Jen (jennifer_ashmy) | 245 comments I'm almost done with City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare

and I was gonna see if I could finish Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5) by Richelle Mead

but I need some cheering up lol, so I think I'm gonna start Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins today, since so many of you guys have said its really fun.. im excited about this one :)

message 6561: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) Spirit Bound isn't really a cheer-you-up type of book. It's instense, but Hex Hall is cheery and light for the most part.

message 6562: by Jen (new)

Jen (jennifer_ashmy) | 245 comments that's great Courtney ^^ because I need a cheery, light read right now.

Yup, so far Spirit Bound has been intense which is why I'm taking a break from it and then coming back to it later on.

message 6563: by Liss (new)

Liss (LissFields) | 100 comments I'm reading Afterlife(Evernight)

message 6564: by Courtney (new)

Courtney K (cklueh) Just finished Soul Screamers. I don't think I'll continue with the series. It was just o.k. for me. I'm thinking about reading Goth Girl Rising by Barry Lyga next or Vixen (Flappers, #1) by Jillian Larkin .

message 6565: by Carina (new)

Carina I havent started with the Screamers series yet but I am wondering how many of you are reading/enjoying it?
I loved Rachel's writting in the Shifters series, so I dont know why I'm hesitating so much!

message 6566: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq I got side tracked with The Gathering (Darkness Rising, #1) by Kelley Armstrong ... but now Im starting it!

I didnt love the first two books of Screamers, liked the third one, then loved the fourth book... I havent bothered with any of the novellas though... :)

message 6567: by Carina (new)

Carina Hmmm....I'm still not convinced I want to start it....yet.
And now that you mention Kelley Armstrong..What I think I WILL do, is read The Awakening (Darkest Powers, #2) by Kelley Armstrong The Awakening and The Reckoning The Reckoning (Darkest Powers, #3) by Kelley Armstrong so that I can be done with that series. I've put it off for a looooooong time...
In the mean time, I'm starting Forbidden!!! Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma

FORBIDDEN.. one of my favorites! I'm liking Gathering so far but taking my time with it because I have no more books lined up o.O... !!

message 6569: by Carina (new)

Carina @Isa
I want to read something really intense, so why not Forbidden right? (By the way, thanks again Stacia!)
I am loving all my realistic fiction books right now. I think I'll be reading Lock and Key Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen and Something Like Fate Something Like Fate by Susane Colasanti next, but who knows, maybe I'll squeeze in a little PNR in there ;)

message 6570: by Isamlq (last edited Apr 13, 2011 08:12PM) (new)

Isamlq I really love YA realistic fiction! Ive read one Colasanti book (When It Happens) and loved it. But I need some PNR and UF so Ive been brwosing your shelves as well and Stacia's and Brit's for suggestions...

message 6571: by Carina (new)

Carina Hope you find something you like!! (PS. I've been thinking about reading that book, Camille, that Britnee liked so much. I feel like reading stand alones right now)

Carina I bought it when Brit told me it was only 99 cents for the kindle. Now its just a matter of making a little time to read it. =D

I really liked Forbidden, but it takes a few chapters to get used to the slang if you're not from the UK (where be our Jessica...sigh).

I hope you get Anna converted too, I like that one even better, but they both got 5 stars. :)

Georgina! (even if the first book was just okay, the series as a whole is soooo good)

Yes, Amulet is Alison's book! I'm sure she'd be thrilled to see more of us reading it. I recently bought it, plan on reading it soon.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) The Girl in the Steel Corset (The Steampunk Chronicles, #1) by Kady Cross started out good so far *cross fingers*.

Lucky biatch.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I wanted to nominate it for the Steampunk read since it comes out a month before, but my luck the ending will suck and I'll feel bad for nominating it, so I'm going to finish the thing first.

message 6581: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Stupid when books end suckingly. Because authors suck.

Joan{missing the vampire bunny slippers!} (joan3000) | 100 comments I AM LOOKING FOR THE GATHERING BY KELLEY ARMSTRONG. IF ANYBODY HAS THE EBOOK COULD YOU SEND IT TO ME BY EMAIL OR TELL ME WHERE I CAN FIND IT? I REALLY CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE... THANK YOU!;)

message 6584: by Book Sushi (new)

Book Sushi (BookSushi) | 97 comments ive finally finished City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare and starting Midnight (The Vampire Diaries The Return, #3) by L.J. Smith i dunno, i seem to be punishing myself with new series additions that have no reason to be there in the first instance! lol

message 6585: by Mel (new)

Mel I'm reading Tyger Tyger Tyger Tyger and it's pretty awesome so far but I'm wondering if anybody has read or is reading The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong I'm contemplating whether to buy it is it any good? Im really not into love triangles so...can somebody help me out?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Were you a fan of her other YA series?

message 6587: by Mel (new)

Mel Stacia *lollipopping like a mofo wrote: "Were you a fan of her other YA series?"

I never read it. I had the first book, but I have sort of a hard time reading about male leads who aren't hot and I don't believe Derek was hot *grins sheepishly* so I never finished it. So is the new one good?

message 6588: by Carina (new)

Carina I had some technical difficulties with Forbidden Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma so until I get it strightened out I'm putting it off. In the mean time I'll be reading Something Like Fate Something Like Fate by Susane Colasanti

I loved Derek!(I think I might be the only one ;D) But I still have to read books 2&3 though.

message 6590: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments Isa, Carina, Stacia - Thanks :-)

My stomach still does a little flip flop whenever I see someone mention my book.

Isa, don't know if you have an e-reader, but I can give you a discount code to download it for free or send it to you via e-mail (only in pdf). The next book is nearly ready so I'm going to be giving away the 1st as a promo very soon anyway.

PM me if you are interested. (again, that goes for anyone else, too).

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the support.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Alison,

Did you hire someone to do your cover for you?

Derek does grow into his looks, but I am not the one to ask about this series. I liked it okay, but it's not even close to being one of my favorites.

Since The Gathering is a spin-off of her other books, I'd say that you'd probably know if you were into Armstrong's writing style or not by reading part of her other series.

Holly just finished Alanna The First Adventure (Song of the Lioness, #1) by Tamora Pierce it was good! Can't wait to read the rest of the series now. my library doesn't have In the Hand of the Goddess (Song of the Lioness, #2) by Tamora Pierce as someone "lost" it, but my state has overdrive library and i will listen to the audio of it. i hope the narrator/reader doesn't suck.
