That's awesome and I've also heard that a lot about this book, which is also why I want to read it.
Oh I hear you on being in someone else's world - I'm the same way when it comes to books.

message 5956: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Good to know I'ma start it soon

For sure! It was one of my fav books last year. Even if I am not a fan of realistic fiction and The Duff is very realistic. I read it in one day and that's a lot for me because I can be a bit of a slow reader I have to admit lol, but I just couldn't put it down.

message 5959: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq So I just finished Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul, #1) by C.L. Wilson (and loved it)
Starting When It Happens by Susane Colasanti because of the SAY ANYTHING comaparison and Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler (I hope its better than 20 Buy Summer.)

message 5960: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Finally finished Ink Exchange it took me all day. 30 pages lmao.

Now going to start The DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) by Kody Keplinger

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) @ Isa,

I love that you called Tairen Soul fantasy for girls, lmao. It's so true though...they're fantasy but the love story pushes it more to the girl side.

@ Brit,

Hmmm...maybe I will read it soon too. I really have been looking at that one for a while.

.....

So...we went out tonight. Did some shopping, dinner and movie.

I didn't mean to really spend any money but we wandered into a bookstore and I found these on clearance for a few bucks each.

White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black Witch and Wizard by James Patterson

I was hyped to find White Cat since I love the book, and I was drawn to W&W because it was so cheap. The ratings look kind of crappy but it's going to be a movie so I'm curious...

message 5962: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Yeah, me too. It looks good.

Ahhhh need to read White Cat

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh, and a total side note...Tairen Soul is definitely one to read for those who like their men protective. This chick can't get the guys to stop tripping over themselves to keep her safe. She's like another Zoey with all the attention, except she only has eyes for one guy.

message 5964: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Oh. Ew then.

message 5965: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Mar 20, 2011 01:47AM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) The books are good. They have flying cat people. The chick is really stubborn too, so she doesn't like being fawned over at all.

Isa gets it now. :)

message 5966: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Yeeea, they look okay.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm done recommending books to you anyway.

message 5968: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Hmph!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) HAH. You know it's true. The guy can't be a jerk ever. He can't be possessive. He can't be protective. He can't be too kinky, but he can't be too innocent...

You're picky!

message 5970: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Yeah I know I'm really really picky. I actually don't really have a specific taste anymore. I like whoever suits my mood at the time.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) And you also know I'm kidding. Other than your Marc rage, we still haven't disagreed on much...yet.

I'm sure we'll have our blowout at some point. Then I'm taking you out of my will.

message 5972: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) We don't really agree on Will either. Hes not as bad as Marc though. He isn't even worth ranting about

LOL

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Does it matter though? We both love Jem.

message 5974: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Yeah well Jem is a pimp. He is totally sexy.

message 5975: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Wesley from DUFF is such a jerk. But he is so effing hot!

message 5976: by Isamlq (last edited Mar 20, 2011 06:21AM) (new)

Oh boy, do I get it... I have the second book lined up for next week.. but it's calling me *read me read me read me* I think Carina will love it.
And Oh. My. Gosh... I never thought to compare it to Zoey... because I really really really like Rain :)

Sarah Ockler's Twenty Boy Summer was just ok, and I'm glad to say that Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler is SO MUCH better!

message 5977: by Jen (new)

Jen (jennifer_ashmy) | 245 comments haha, Oh I love Wesley, Brit. Yup he's hot and he is an interesting character. I'll just leave it at that, lol.

message 5978: by Carina (new)

Carina @Brit Wesley IS kind of a jerk, but he grows on you. Just give him a chance cause I KNOW you wont like the other guy cause he's too nice and good. So just wait ok ;)

@Isa and Stacia I have been wondering what series to start after I finish BDD and by what you guys are saying I think I'll start the Tairen Soul books.

message 5979: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Carina Oh hes really sexy!

message 5980: by Carina (new)

Carina Yay! Does that mean you're liking the book?

message 5981: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Carina wrote: "Yay! Does that mean you're liking the book?"

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments Jeez... I've been MIA for awhile. What did I miss? lol

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Good to have you back Catherine! I was wondering where you'd been.

Now we need to take a search party to look for Katty and Joanna.

message 5988: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq Hi Catherine!

message 5989: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Yo Catherine!

Ehh I think Katty went to Uni waaah I miss her D;

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Reading Red Glove (Curse Workers, #2) by Holly Black

*happy dance*

message 5991: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I'm reading City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare Clarys a bitch and I imagine Jace as a lion now

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Maybe I'll sneak a couple of chapters a day on MI in between other books. I can't invest in a full on re-read, but I'd like to refresh a bit.

message 5993: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I'm reading them all because I can't actually remember a heap. I read them soooo long ago. Still, I wish she'd stop saying Jace looks like a Lion.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I prefer when she describes him as an avenging angel.

message 5995: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Yeah. Because all I see is a huge Lion standing there >.< I hate it when she slaps him too. Whata cow.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Girls who slap their guys bug me.

message 5997: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I think Tessa should have slapped Will. But he deserved it. Jace did not.

message 5998: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq Britnee -* Om Nom Nom..* wrote: "I think Tessa should have slapped Will. But he deserved it. Jace did not."
