So, I recently read Grimspace and really enjoyed it. To me, it had the feel of "Battlestar Galactica", "The Matrix" and "Firefly". It's been classified by some (including the author) as SFR (sci-fi romance), but I would say that the romance is just a small piece of the story making it feel closer to a UF than PNR story. It's probably not for everyone, but if you are a sci-fi geek like me and love some of the movies I mentioned above, you will most likely enjoy this series as well.
The author, Ann Aguirre, offers some free reads on her website. Two of them are based in Jax' world."Renegade" (SF, March’s POV)
"Exile’s Lament" (SF, Vel’s POV, first person)
I adore this series. I don't know anyone that's read it that didn't love it. It's got great action and heart and I just wish it wasn't so long between releases. I can't wait for Killbox!
Yeah, I just read this series a couple weeks ago, and I really really enjoyed it. Definitely looking forward to Killbox!
Darkheart and Steph, I love sci fi (and loved BSG), my only hesitation is that I didn't love Blue Diablo by Ann Aguirre. I liked alot about it, but ultimately the telling of the story fell flat and bored me (despite the characters, world and scenery that I loved in her book). Have you read Blue Diablo or Skin Game (written under her pseudnym)? How would you compare them? I am reading Skin Game right now.
I am reading Blue Diablo right now, and I can tell you that it hasn't grabbed me the way that the Sirantha Jax series did. Jax had me riveted within the first 5 pages.I love sci fi too (and BSG ... yum). I think you should give it a try, I bet you'd like it.

I love this series. One of my faves. I think it reads very much like a UF, just set in space. :)What's so great about it is the characters--especially Jax--are so real. There are times you will want to slap her upside the head, yell at her, and take away her half of your BFF charms, but then you see she grows & learns from her mistakes and you just love her all the more for it. She is just REAL. Did I already mention that? Lol.
Oh my goodness, I just started this book and am only 19 pages in but CANNOT WAIT for lunch when I will read more. I mentioned above that I read
and
both by the same author -- I liked the story and characters in both books but got bored before the end of both books (they kinda fizzled) so I was reluctant to start this. But this book is so unique and just wow! And Laura Lulu I can see how she is real, lol. Her pain about Kai is very -- well real. I hope I love this series as much as I have the first 19 pages!
Glad you're liking it. It's very good. I've got a few left to read before the next release, but have liked the first two a lot. BTW, I didn't know Ava Gray was a pseudo for Ann. Cool. Hard to keep up with all these multiple names. :)

And then after you read these, you can read Chicagoland Vamps! Lol.
So I just finished Killbox and am so frustated that it ended with a cliff hanger!!! Anyone else think it was silly that Jax ran off without talking to March? I think March would have thought her plan made sense but with him as her pilot, they would have a stronger chance of suceeding. I can't believe we have to wait until September for the sequel to this! After finishing, I went back and re-read the March/Jax parts in Grimspace, I really like their relationship and how it develops.
Oh man, a love triangle? I don't wanna know ... don't tell me. I have a guess, but don't wanna know .......... LOL! I'm definitely going to wait to read Killbox until closer to Sept.

I know it's a different series and others probably received the same email, but thought I'd post it here in case anyone who didn't was interested.
I got that too! After I joined the group. :) I look forward to reading what she has to say about her books.I am so irritated that I Aftermath in Kindle is not up yet for pre-order. Yes I know it is months away, I just want to put it on my pre-order list.
Cool! I'd like to check it out, but don't know if I'll join. We'll see how next week goes. Definitely pop back here to share any goodies you learn. I'd love to hear how it's goin', in case I can't stop by the group.
LOL @ pre-order. Patience, grasshopper. ;)
Just finished
...I knew I should wait until Aftermath was shipped...grrr! 5 stars. It just keeps getting better! Have that "can't decide a book to read now" problem, cause I just want more Jax & March & Vel & everyone!!!!
You are in the UK, right Judithe? I can't find it on the US Amazon site for ebook -- but I am watching and stalking it now that I know it is up!
