If you could recast Twilight?
I would totally recast Bella's character!! Not a fan of Kristen Stewart she's horrible in my opinion. I think Lucy Hale would be a great Bella she's the girl who plays Aria on the new series of "Pretty Little Liars."

I'd have to recast Bella and Edward. Neither did it for me. It's hard to be a character from a book though because we all make our own images up.
I agree! she does not protray Bella very well at all. She comes across as this bumbling inarticulate weak little girl, where as Bella is strong, clumsy, smart, with a little bit if self doubt. I think they they should have looked a little harder before settled on Kristen.
I think they wanted someone somewhat known?
To me she doesn't even seem like she's acting her personality just kills me. Every time I see her on an interview or MTV movie awards she's so uncomfortable, emo and kinda rude, it's irritating. I think I enjoyed Eclipse the movie the most out of the other 2 because it was less of a spotlight on Bella (Kristen). I think Breaking Dawn is going to be a bit torturous she has to be whiny and annoying, it's going to be a rough 2 movies. Shelly - "I'd have to recast Bella and Edward. Neither did it for me. I totally agree but some characters have grown to be what I imagined, although I wish Taylor was taller, him being all tough doesn't seem to work for me since he's tiny in comparison to the 6'4" Jacob in the book (or he could be taller). I gotta say I love lit' Seth!! That's who I totally imagined him to be in my head lol.
Well I have to disagree with everyone! LOLI looooove Rob for Edward and I adore Kristen. She is very annoying but something about her makes me love her. I find the whole character of Bella to be pretty whiny and annoying. So Kristen does a good job in my opinion. The only movie I like was the first one. Eclipse and New Moon sucked! I think it's more the budget and directing than anything. Also, the make up in Eclipse was horrible. Everyone looked like they were wearing white chalky makeup and the hair on Jasper was awful. Too perfect. The fight scenes were corny. Overall, the movie did not do the book justice.
I think Lord of the Rings and Narnia did a better job with "book to big screne"
Having said all that, I love the actors so much and the book that I watch the movies over and over!! LOL!!!
I'd have to recast Rosalie, but not sure with who. In the book, she's described almost as a blonde beauty queen type, which isn't Nikki Reed at all (but I love her as an actress).Eclipse was my least favorite of the three movies. The vampire army was so not intimidating. The scene where they came out of the water was just cheesy. The darker feel and music of the first movie made that one my favorite of the three.
My favorite castings were Jasper and Carlisle. I'd take either of them over Edward or Jacob.
I would recast Rosalie, Bella, and Edward. I can't stand K-stew. I think Lucy hale would have been perfect. I would have used Annalynne Mccord for Rosalie, Nikki Reed's a brunette and you can tell even with her wig, and I would have cast Chace Crawford as Edward. Eclipse was my fave of all the movies. I did not like how Twilight was more akin to an indie movie. New Moon was okay, but the material wasn't easy to work with anyway for a movie because nothing really happened.
I think that although Lautner doesnt meet Jacobs 6'7 stature, he is the best actor of them all.
I would recast Rosalie. Even though Nikki Reed is pretty and great actress, I think Olivia Wilde would have been better... with a blond hair... Remember her in the O.C?

And hasn't Dakota grown up into quite a hottie? I still remember her in one of her first roles (on CSI: Las Vegas.) A friend of mine (kind of an honourary son) has had the biggest crush on Dakota for years and years now. So I've watched every movie she's ever made.
ugh...i like kristen stewart in other movies, but in twilight?? She makes me wanna GAG! Robert Patterson and her together? Movie magic no no..they mess up all the elements that made the books great. They do the whole.... thing before every line...i think the rest of the cast is pretty legit though...but what im really in love with the soundtracks

Jasper
Jane
I would possibly recast everyone else LOL. I loved Charlie but he wasn't how I imagined him in my head. I would have to think about who I would cast though.
Oh and the new Victoria wasn't mean enough. She just wasn't crazy and psychotic looking to me. The old one was better but her hair wasn't red enough in the first movie.
Also Alice's hair looked longer in New Moon and Eclipse and I liked it spikey like in Twilight. That is more how she was described in the book. Her hair isn't supposed to grow.
The only ones I would recast are Bella and Edward. Not sure who though.
I have to disagree with so many about Kristen. She is the book Bella for me and I read the book a dozen times before I even knew they would do a movie (starting in 2007). Paul Wesley should have been Edward!
Anyone but Kristen Stewart and I'd pick another Edward as well. I just don't think Kristen can act and I always pictured Edward more handsome. I do have to say Rob Patz has grown on me a bit though. I disagree about the make up in Eclipse. I commented to people that the make up finally looked decent. Notice the first two movies the vamps had white faces and tan ears and necks. This movie they were actually all covered for once.
Paul Wesley would have made a good Edward, but he is too old - I think he's 27, so playing a high school student just doesn't go. Did anyone see him in Wolf Lake? I still like Rob Pattinson as Edward. I wouldn't recast anyone except maybe bring back Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria. She was feral in that role. Bryce Howard was too pretty to be Victoria.
I agree Jen that the makeup is a lot better in Eclipse. I almost could be a Rob fan...almost. Paul plays a high school student in Vampire Diaries and everyone seems okay with it. I don't think he has changed much since Wolf Lake and I think that was 2001. Maybe he IS a vampire.
Rob Pattinson was born in 1986 and Paul Wesley was born in 1982. Not a lot of difference there. Neither one is a teen. LOL
I would bring back Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria. I really don't understand how Bryce Howard gets all these parts. She is a horrible actress & has been riding around on daddy's coat tails all these years. IMO Bryce Howard is the perfect example of "it's who you know, not what you know" in Hollywood.Of the three main characters, I would recast Bella. Kristen Stewart is just so boring. when i first saw the first movie in theatres i didnt like anyone because it didnt fit my description except maybe carlisle. but then i started to get used to them. now i think its great to see someone elses point of view with these characters.
If I could recast Twilight I would have recast Rosalie I think I'd get that blond cop from Rookie Blue (Charlotte Sullivan). First time I saw her I thought she'd have made a great Rosalie. I like Nikki Reed but I think there just seems to be something missing. Also Kristin Stewart as Bella would not have been my first choice but she's grown on me. I love Taylor Lautner just wish he was taller. My Edward would have been Chace Crawford or even Josh Hartnett.

Ok, so I love the Twilight books and I will admit that when they released the first photos of the cast I was extremely disappointed in the casting of Rob. He didn't live up to the image of Edward that I had in my head! I haven't hated his portrayal though when it came to the movies, though I didn't LOVE it either. I may get totally blackballed for this but the new Twilight spoof movie that is coming out...Vampires Suck stars Matt Lanter as Edward and he is BEAUTIFUL! So much more what I pictured Edward to be! Of course, I love Matt anyway so maybe that is influencing my opinion! HA
I think I'd recast Rosalie but not sure who I'd get. I wouldn't recast Kirsten but I'd definitely ask her to stop looking so damn wimpish Bella is not a wimp. and I also hated that they changed people's hairstyles in eclipse it made them look different I prefer their original looks in twilight and new moon , please remember people Vampires cannot change urgggh do they even read the books?
My Edward was Chace Crawford as well. Alot of people want him to play Adrian in the Vampire Academy movie if it gets made. I think Chace would have been the PERFECT Edward.I agree that I thought Carlisle was the best cast, as far as meeting the book description. Even though I like Lautner for Jacob alot and wouldn't change him, he does not fit the description. Still like him though.
I was just having this conversation with my daughter last night. We decided that a great Edward and Bella would be Zac Efron and Dakota Fanning. I think Efron might have some acting chops we don't know about yet. I would like to see him in something challenging. The acting in the first Twilight movie was so awful, I can't help but imagine other people in the roles of Edward and Bella.Who is the guy that played Pretty Boy Floyd in Public Enemies? He was in something else, I just can't remember. He might be a little too old, but he could have been a good Cullen - maybe Jasper or Emmett.
I love Robert Pattinson as Edward and can't imagine anyone else playing Edward! A better actress for Rosalie would be Molly McCook - look her up on Imdb she's perfect. The rest of the Cullen clan were great, and as for Bella, replace her with anyone who isn't so twitchy!

I wanted to like Robert Pattinson, I really did. But I just can't. He's cute as can be, but he and Kristen Stewart are painful to watch together. Between her panting and his worried frown :/I think Jasper, Esme, and Rosalie should all be recast. Alice is pretty perfect.
Don't mean to disagree with so many of you, but as much as she grates on my nerves - I think Kristen Stewart embodied Bella pretty well.Edward could be played by someone so much hotter. I also think Nikki Reed was too different from what Rosalie should've been. I agree with Miri - Molly McCook would do Rosalie justice.
They should've stuck with the old Victoria too.

She is perfect for the part even if she isnt a natural blond!
On the other hand Rob and Kirsten are both epic fails! Kirsten can't act for her life and she screams like a dying pig. Rob dosent show enough emotion and neither of them look anything like how i'd imagined them in the books!
The person who plays Emmet plays his part really well but he looks nothing like how he's described in the books.
Ashley Greene is perfect for her part as Alice in every way! and same with the person who plays Jasper.
If I was to recast Twilight.... hmmmmmKristen Stewart isn't my fav, but she has kinda grown on me. I can't stand Rob --- doesn't anyone remember him from Harry Potter?? How about Hayden Christenson or Henry Cavill instead? Or anyone who doesn't look like his face has been caved in for that matter!
I love Carlisle and Alice, Emmett is great, but I expected him to be bigger, more linebackerish. I like Nikki Reed as Rosalie, but if you are going to cast a brunette to play a blonde make sure you take care of the dark eyebrows when you give her the wig!
The only other person that I really questioned when I saw who they'd cast was Esme. After seeing her in Grey's Anatomy and The Ex-List I just didn't buy her as Esme, but I was definately pleasantly surprised.
I LOVE Henry Cavill, but he looks his age, which is too old. Sad, but true.
I can't stand Kristen Stewart either, but my sister mentioned that she couldn't stand Bella's character in the book either, so she kind of fits the part. However, Rob was so far from what I envisioned Edward to be, he's not nearly hot enough, for how he's described in the book, but I found out the cast while I was reading the first book, so I don't know who I'd cast as Edward. I liked the original Victoria also, much better than the new one.Although reading someone said Henry Cavill, and I think he would have been a great cast instead of Rob. I feel like Rob overacts, and it just kind of seems cheesy.

Rob is not my Edward. Not sure who would be but I kind of hate that I have somewhere along the way lost the Edward I fell in love with. I read the books more times than I can count before I knew there would be a movie.
I think I liked most of the people as far as looks go, but some of the acting sucked. I agree they should have smiled more. The only one I would have recasted is Rosalie. I pictured her more beauty-pagent-like. I think Nikki is pretty just not "the epitome of beauty" like she is discribed. I'm just wondering how they are going to make Bella "beautiful" after she transforms.

I would definitely recast Jacob Black. Taylor Lautner is beyond awful in my opinion. Hearing him speak and watching him act, eww, I just cringe! lol. A little boy with muscles trying to be a man, not attractive. I can't say they are all bad actors. If anyone else had to follow that script it would be awful too. Some of the lines they have to say makes me embarassed for them, lol.
I just remember being in the theater for New Moon when TL says "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me if I was angry" I literally burst out laughing, lol. It reminded me of my 3 year old when she wakes up grumpy from a nap. haha
Overall I do like the books and movies, but give me True Blood or Underworld anyday. If it weren't for Robert Pattinson, I probably wouldn't watch them at all.
Funny, I have watched them a LOT but the thing I like the least about them is Rob Pattinson. (ducking) He kind of killed my love for Edward that I had through the books. He is okay, but to me not a romantic lead. If they had put a really hot guy who is a good actor in that part I would still be in love with Edward!I agree Chace Crawford would have worked.
I love Henry Cavill but he is pretty dark to be a bronze haired pale vampire! He is only three years older than Rob, but then Rob is pretty old to be 17!
I agree with a lot of the postings on this topic. :) The casting of the Twilight movies is always something that has irked me. I think they should just start the movies over and recast majority of the roles. :)Here are some of my picks:
Edward - Chace Crawford
Bella - Rachel Bilson or Leighton Meester
Emmett - Daniel Cudmore
Jacob - Steven Strait
Alice - Rachael Leigh Cook
Jane - Jessica Stroup - I think she would look perfect next to Cameron Bright as Alec.
Rosalie - Blake Lively (true blonde w/a body to die for)
I think there are casting issues with Quil and Victoria as well but would have no idea who to cast.
The only two that I feel are perfectly cast are Peter Facinelli as Carlisle and Michael Sheen as Aro.
Jackson Rathbone and Elizabeth Reaser are all right but not quite what I pictured for Jasper & Esme.

Collette, I think you have part of it in your scrawny comment. Rob is not an athlete and Edward in the book is perfect. Most of us think physically fit (not necessarily bulked up but...) and strong is ideal for a guy. Rob just doesn't give that impression. I purposely have not read the books for a long time as I am going to seriously try to read them again and separate them from the movies - and get my Edward back!Not to say I don't love the movies and all the fun and friends I have made through the whole Twilight experience.
Kind of hard for me as the characters are already so ingrained in my head!!
